About the chatting that some were concerned in the post race discussion. In a T7R event Triple Double Cup they had this kinda rule regarding chatting:

Penalties:
- Chatting during the race: +10 seconds (for every line you wrote)

And it worked really well. The time penalty was given after the race to the overall result.

Great racing.

Quali: Went great got a new pb

Race1: Good start from 4th to 2nd and then good fighting with Gamito for couple of laps. Then after the long uphill into the 180 right hander i was taking a defensive line for an fxo from behind and at the same time hoping for an opening in front. Just braked too late and Gamito took his line and couldn't avoid and we ended up scrupping metal. (Checked the replay, there could have been enough room. I just braked too late and couldn't hold the line, sorry again). Slight lag might have added to the impact got quite a big damage to my left rear tire. Let Gamito back ahead we dropped two or three places. And then chasing after the rest. Around lap 5 guys ahead collided in the last corner and i managed to pass two cars so in 4th place. But just couldn't keep my pace high enough with the damaged left back and Void nicely passed me just 1 lap before the finish.

Race 2: Great position to start 4th place, but damn also 2 more rb4 ahead. So not a big advantage in the start. Managed to get past Ergin quickly after the start (teammate pass ). Then chasing after J@tko catched up on 2nd lap in the backstraight. Some nice fighting the last two corners and got a better exit from the last corner when J@tko went slightly wide in the corner entry. Then just really trying to keep my pace up. After couple of laps Void had come on top of the chasing group and he was gaining fast i think around 0.5sec a lap at one point. I think he was almost 1sec away from me at one point but then he made some sort of mistake in the last corner and i got some breathing room. Knew that a 4sec difference would be enough to finish 1st.

Good racing see you guys in the next race...

Is it ok to use white background with the numberplate? Atleast for my eye looks odd when the backround is the same as the skin in the car.

Attached the altered version.

Way to go, very nice vid.

You know guys even some of the Hollywood films use "special" effects they are not all real :uglyhamme

Found something fishy on my first watch too, but was impressed by the cool drifting. Gotta say its all way way too impressive . You've had us very well:jester:

Longer all the way. They are still pretty short . Thinking of using the rb4 so the tires will be an issue. Love the challenge.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Will this patch be needed in order to race online?? The only reason i ask is that i had the z5 patch earlier in the week, and once the new z8 patch came out i could not connect to the server i needed to be in until i downloaded z8, despite the server being patch Z. Im guessing that this was because of the ABS being removed from the XFG but would just like to be sure as my heart was in my mouth 4 minutes before the start of the meeting with me sitting there thinking oh shi... can't get in.

Why would you want to be using an old TEST patch... All of this conversation was already in the Z8 thread http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1012575#post1012575 . Please use the search.

I'm not testing so my posting here is also pretty useless, just looking through the stuff testers find and how the problems are solved. So not happy reading the same nonessential stuff over and over again...

You've really out done yourself now Jens. Truly a nice vid, like the hectic feeling and how it suits the music.

Quote from Becky Rose :Normal rules of who has to break first on the inside or outside do not apply, it's all about the traffic jam ahead of you and whichever side of the track you are on it's all a bit random.

I agree, the T1 is nearly like real life traffic. You never know when the driver infront of you is going to start braking . So like in actual traffic keep your safe distance .

Nice guide, good points there and some that i hadn't thought of also like braking force.

Would like to add that there could be mention about what lines to take in T1. The usual optimum line for hotlapping is out of question. So what lines to take? I think you have two choices depending on your starting position in the grid either the inside or the outside. If you get a good start you may be able to change your track position for T1 and you can choose freely wich one to take. I think most of the drivers are favoring the inside lane as they hope gaining positions in T1. So i've started to favor the outside lane whenever i have the change in T1. Usually the outside is less growded and you can brake later then others as there isn't so many cars infront of you. When taking the outside lane you should leave as much room as possible, even if it feels a bit too much, this way you are increasing your changes not be bunted by a driver who was going for the inside and missed the braking point slightly.

When you are taking the inside lane, i think the options are limited. You'll have to brake quite early as you are turning in tighter then you usually need to take the corner. Also the inside tends to be a lot more crowded and cause of this going in a really slow pace.

I've also noticed that it is good to leave a bit extra room for the car infront of you before the braking of the corner. When doing this there is a little more reaction time when the car ahead starts braking.

There might also be some differences when thinking about the starting position. In the front of the grid you just need to push full on and try to take the corner as fast as it is safely possible. In the middle of the pack it is all about avoiding others and trying to be in the same speed as the cars around you. Easiest place to be is in the back there you can safely observe from a distance and take a good line for T2.

These were some points i felt could be added to the list or i've noticed to work well.

Quote from JCTK :a). if you look CAREFULLY, he didn't even touched Heikki, he was already way ahead as they turned into T1, but because he knew his teammate was there, he slowed and gave him enough room for Heikki to drive past round the outside again. Heikki had that slide because his left rear wheel touched the white line on the outside of the corner, not because Lewis touched him.
....

"
Q: But an amazing first few laps when you were trying to get past Heikki.
LH:
Yeah, that was some close racing. I got a great start at the beginning, but to be honest, I lifted too early into turn one. Heikki had the outside line, so he had the grip but unfortunately I was on the inside and I was just sliding, sliding across. There was nothing I could do to avoid him, I think we tapped or we touched and I think it was no problem for him. Then I had another opportunity on the exit of the last corner but that’s not a place to overtake really. We were almost side-by-side and I had an oversteer moment and the last thing I wanted to do was take my team-mate out, so I just tried to keep it on the track. "

Quote from JJ72 :
Lewis was godsmackingly amazing today and opened a can of woopp arse of EVERY SINGLE FORMULA ONE DRIVER, it made their effort seem amaturish to an extent that they just GAVE UP driving, such performance is ONCE IN A LIFETIME and one day I am going to tell my grandchild about it. Lewis RULES and that's a FACT.

-1

Lewis was good i'll give you that but the best driver of the british gp was without a doubt Barrichello. At his age still able to give the young guys good old beating with a totally inferior car. I mean the guy started all the way from the back and took the 3rd place with 1min 22s difference, even with the wet tires somebody still needs to drive the car . Flawless performance in my opinion by Rubens. Good solid drive by Lewis and then third Heidfeld with his great manouvers.

Haven't said hi here before. So Hi!

I've had S2 now for 1,5 year. Was a demo driver for ages, tried the early versions of the game and then came back to it after couple of years and felt better so decide to buy it. Was invited to FLP/r after few months of racing and allways liked pie. Mmm pie .

So see you in the track.

Would like to point out that the info about Lewis buing $400 000 plate seems to be inaccurate. Atleast according to a finnish news, where i usually get my F1 news. They quote him saing "Ridiculous story. I wouldn't pay 100£ for a plate, unless i had to. I can assure you , that this 'info' isn't true at all." (Not sure about the actual saings just trying to translate from a finnish translation what he said in english )

Didn't read all the posts so if it was a double post, then sorry .

edit: Ok rolled the page little bit upwards this was allready said, sorry.
