Quote from Knight_Atack :The plates are to make things standard. Giving a simple plate allows for less standardization as teams will resize it in different ways, stretch it in different ways, and place it in different ways. This makes it the same for all.

In addition, in no case do you need to resize your skin nor the kit. It is all made to fit perfectly (unless you have something under it, but meh). As for the numbers, these are a reference. If they aren't the exact size/width, it isn't much of a problem, but the important thing here is that the style of writting is the same. Even arial black could probably do the job, this is just to narrow down the choices, and not have peeps showing up with Comic or Times as numbers. Placing the kit and adding the number shouldn't take more than 2 minutes.

Well meh, just don't like it when i have made every decal on the skin to take account the strecthing and then i have to add something that messes with that symmetry. Btw the plate on the hood is somewhat slightly different size then the two on the doors. But well thats just me i really like making every little detail as good as i can on the skin. True it wont be seen/noticed during driving, but anyway .

Quote from ChristijaNL :Hi could someone help attaching plates on my car? I just spend half an hour trying and i'm getting nowhere. I can add my number myself but i dont know how to put the plates on my skin.

If your using photoshop just open both files your skin and the plates file. Then activate the plates file and layers -> duplicate layer.. And from there choose the file where you want this new layer to be copied.

Attached are number plate skin kits for each of the TBO class cars (FXO, XRT, RB4). Please use the corresponding kit for your car. The kits are in transparent .png format, and will therefore easily apply to your existing skins, without the need to reformat, modify, nor rearrange (2048x2048).

...

Nice work easier to attach the number plates to the car and to the places where you guys want them. Then comes the BUT there is actually quite alot stretching to be made to make the numbers be in the right size. And it was a really pain in the ... to do. Ok i first attached the number plates to my 2048 skin(after changing the place of our team logo wich would have been under the plate). Then i changed the 2048 skin to 2560x2048 size to compensate for the stretching with the numbers, then wrote the numbers and guessed the angle which the number plate on the hood is which i think i didnt get right. Guessed -104degrees and it seems grooged in the skin that is ready. Then resized the skin back to 2048...

I like more the option where we get the plate and can then add the numbers to that before attaching it to the car. But anyway for those who arent so used to skinning there actually is some modification needed for the numbers to look the way they should.

Quote from Wilko868 :1 point for pole position.

About the chatting that some were concerned in the post race discussion. In a T7R event Triple Double Cup they had this kinda rule regarding chatting:

Penalties:
- Chatting during the race: +10 seconds (for every line you wrote)

And it worked really well. The time penalty was given after the race to the overall result.

Great racing.

Quali: Went great got a new pb

Race1: Good start from 4th to 2nd and then good fighting with Gamito for couple of laps. Then after the long uphill into the 180 right hander i was taking a defensive line for an fxo from behind and at the same time hoping for an opening in front. Just braked too late and Gamito took his line and couldn't avoid and we ended up scrupping metal. (Checked the replay, there could have been enough room. I just braked too late and couldn't hold the line, sorry again). Slight lag might have added to the impact got quite a big damage to my left rear tire. Let Gamito back ahead we dropped two or three places. And then chasing after the rest. Around lap 5 guys ahead collided in the last corner and i managed to pass two cars so in 4th place. But just couldn't keep my pace high enough with the damaged left back and Void nicely passed me just 1 lap before the finish.

Race 2: Great position to start 4th place, but damn also 2 more rb4 ahead. So not a big advantage in the start. Managed to get past Ergin quickly after the start (teammate pass ). Then chasing after J@tko catched up on 2nd lap in the backstraight. Some nice fighting the last two corners and got a better exit from the last corner when J@tko went slightly wide in the corner entry. Then just really trying to keep my pace up. After couple of laps Void had come on top of the chasing group and he was gaining fast i think around 0.5sec a lap at one point. I think he was almost 1sec away from me at one point but then he made some sort of mistake in the last corner and i got some breathing room. Knew that a 4sec difference would be enough to finish 1st.

Good racing see you guys in the next race...

Is it ok to use white background with the numberplate? Atleast for my eye looks odd when the backround is the same as the skin in the car.

Attached the altered version.

Way to go, very nice vid.

You know guys even some of the Hollywood films use "special" effects they are not all real :uglyhamme

Found something fishy on my first watch too, but was impressed by the cool drifting. Gotta say its all way way too impressive . You've had us very well:jester:

Longer all the way. They are still pretty short . Thinking of using the rb4 so the tires will be an issue. Love the challenge.

Great race's once more. Starting to get the hang of this more and more. This time 3rd and 3rd. Again best result overall so far.

Quali:
Managed to do a near pb time and even with a better time i don't think i would have been any higher in the grid. Some traffic here and there had some problems finding the right gap to fit in.

Sprint:
Started 4th and managed to overtake Dave in the first corner as he went wide there. Almost went there myself as i was wondering where to brake, but decided that the guy ahead must now so i'll brake there . Then managed to make one try to overtake troy at the end of lap 1, but just not enough overlap. After that little bit of sliding and lost some time there and dave catched right up. So the rest of the race tight battling and trying to keep him behind. With a little bit of luck i managed to keep my position .

Feature:
This time in the passing roulette i managed to stay ahead of dave and troy. And managed to climb up to 1st place was allready pretty optimistic that they both would have lots of traffic and i could gain some time there. Hoping way too much troy was right up in my tail and it was like the sprint all over again. Couple of close calls as i went slightly wide and just couldn't keep the rear end cool enough when trying to push like grazy. Troy was able to pass me on lap 19 and by then dave had gotten right up our tail too. Now i got it i can blame dave for not cathing up quicker so that the two would have started fighting and i could have come out 1st . Well anyway didn't put up so much of a fight with dave as i was hoping he could catch up to troy and maybe i could benefit from that. They both were pushing like mad and i managed to stay in 4sec distance from troy. In the end dave didn't catch up and i lost some more time as i was pushing way too hard and went wide in the mainstraight. All in all a great race.

Gongrats to the winners of both race's Hugo and Troy. See you all in round 7 (cant make it to the 6th).

Quote from danthebangerboy :Will this patch be needed in order to race online?? The only reason i ask is that i had the z5 patch earlier in the week, and once the new z8 patch came out i could not connect to the server i needed to be in until i downloaded z8, despite the server being patch Z. Im guessing that this was because of the ABS being removed from the XFG but would just like to be sure as my heart was in my mouth 4 minutes before the start of the meeting with me sitting there thinking oh shi... can't get in.

Why would you want to be using an old TEST patch... All of this conversation was already in the Z8 thread http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1012575#post1012575 . Please use the search.

I'm not testing so my posting here is also pretty useless, just looking through the stuff testers find and how the problems are solved. So not happy reading the same nonessential stuff over and over again...

Quote from danowat :I think that I have failed, again, to try and make the racing close and exciting, whilst still clean, for the whole grid, which was what the rev champ grid, and similarly the ballast from last season, attempted to do, and any further seasons will drop any attempt to do this, because it just makes things overly complex whilst not achieving the overall goal.

Gotta disagree I really enjoy the feature race. The reverse grid makes the races really eventful and i certainly hope to see it also in the future. Have always liked the tight fights when starting from the back. I think i figured out the right tactic for the RAC for the reversed grid this last race. I've been a bit too aggressive in the two earlier ones as i was trying to use every opportunity to pass. This seems to end up badly when up against the FZ5 as it is quite a bit heavier resulting the RAC spinning from the lightest tap. This just means that not to jump in head first for every opening like you would with same class cars. This last race i thought in the beginning to take it easier and it seemed to work .

Best overall result so far. The sprint was ok at the end 6th, worst so far. Didn't have so much practice as i did for the bl1r race it showed as red back tires. Tried to do some fixes for the feature. They didn't work so well but the car was drivable. Best feature so far, no spins and no major mistakes from my part. Good after taste this time. Just would be nice to be higher . Once again great drive from davews and troy. Can't figure out how you navigate through all the traffic so fast and without incidents.

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!
