I think pretty nice for a first try. 452 points and five guestions right. Very nice start Trulli and Sutil pulled through, Toyota chassis might be best race for them so far then Force india engines and williams fuel everyone to the finnish nice.

Go pie go.

Ain't mandatory, depends on what religous group you belong to or don't belong and they prepare different studies for these students.

Hi!

I would like to correct some points that you guys made. IMO you are going at a good speed in the corners. Atleast in a higher speed then Tomba in his replay, if i'd had to guess your setups problem it would be you have too much downforce. That track is mainly straight so you don't need the downforce, if you compare these two replays you can see that you are clearly losing in straight speeds. In the main straight about 20km/h and in the uphill section 15km/h and that is hurting your time. Your braking point for the first corner is also later then the usual braking point. Cornering was fine so the problem is straights.

Quote from JANBAK :Hello to everybody

I'm an enthusiatsic newcomer about LFS

I've 2 short questions for you:

1) what I've to do to use the downloaded skins? where can I find them?

2) where can I find "the replay analyzer "Analyse for speed"?

Thank you very much

On top of this page you can see useful links:

- LFS Main Site
- LFS World
- LFS News
- LFS Manual (press here)

- LFS Merchandise

1) From there find a link "Skin tutorial".

2) From the "links" section you'll find answers for your second question.

Quote from DevilDare :hmmmm, i picked up a clip of youtube before it got removed (again..) It was from kovalainen's cockpit, and it did look like he punched the air, but he punched "up" not "forward" so i dont really get how can u hit pit limiter buttona and turn it on. Well lets hope he doesnt make the same mistake again.

As i heard it, in an interview it was his elbow that hit the limiter.

I also think he was only trying to tear the visor off. No point in celebrating when you are just accelerating to the main straight. And he did make mistakes in the last years GP so i think he was trying to be extra careful for this one, so i don't see the possibility of him celebrating at that point.

Then about Mclarens pitlimiter gotta wonder how its setup. Quoting Marc Gene "I was surprised by Kovalainen's mistake. It's unbelievable that Mclaren haven't made any changes after the mistakes that happened to Hamilton in Brazil in 2007" (Taken from finnish article quating Gene from El mundo magazine so the translation might not be so accurate.) So he thinks that the loss for speed in the last GP last season was due to similar pressing of the pitlimiter. Again quoting "Ferrari's pitlimiter only goes on in low speeds, never when the car is doing topspeeds."

So i might partly blame Mclaren about the functionality of the speedlimiter. Whats the point keeping it so that it can be pressed on in high speeds...

Quote from zeugnimod :+1.

He was just lucky and profited from the mistakes/DNFs of the others. Until 5 laps before the end.

I think Vettel will beat him clearly in most of the races.

+1

I also think Vettel will give him a really hard time. If i had to bet i'd say Vettel is going to have more points in the end of the season.

Quote from zeugnimod :Did he say something different?

He said that he was visible for other drivers when the ACTUAL RACE happened.

My english might be a bit off . This is exactly what i meant.

Quote from JO53PHS :From the other drivers point of view, you were never even in the race until the last corner of lap 6. So even if you were lagging it wouldn't have been a problem for them anyway because you technically weren't even in the race.

You should check the replay. There you can definedly see that i'm visible to the other drivers. Would have posted this subject to this thread http://www.lfsforum.net/showth ... ?t=7059&highlight=mpr if i'd thought so.

Quote from JO53PHS :It may have been caused by lag. You could have lagged from just before joining until the green lights, so the server never 'knew' your car was in the race.

I know nothing about how LFS Servers work, so I'm probably completely wrong

Heh yeah, also about the lag i don't think there was any more then usual. Like i said we had really close fights in the race so i think others would have had problems sticking near me.

I think i joined pretty early, even before the reds. But can't be sure cause can't check the replay .

Did a 6 lap race on CTRA single seater 2 server last night. Decided to save it and watch the start again as we had 3 cars side by side and no collisions. Then later on when i watched the replay it just says in the beginning that i'm in the pits. Then on last lap on lap 6 i magically reappear to the final straight and the game is saing that i have left the pits.

I think that everybody in the race could see me. It can be seen as i had a tight fight with -willi- halfway trough the first lap and on the final lap with ehnico.

Then i thought that the problem was only in my end and downloaded the replay from the server. But it turns out that also in that replay i am missing.

So what could be the reason, might be that before the start of the replay i actually was in the pits and entered just when the race was about to start.

Here are both of the replays, first one from my point of view and the second from the server.

Quote from j j :I would just like to say thank you. The patch is great. Everything about the handling feels so much better, more responsive, immersive and real.. I had almost quit playing lfs but this has made it so much more fun. The changes are subtle but the make all the change in the world in my opinion.

My g25 says thanks too!

Have to agree with you there. Now that i have been driving the new patch a bit more imo it feels better then the old one. With the new clutch a bit more challenging and with the improved physics it has more feeling.

So thanks to the developers/testers and everyone who has been working hard for the new patch.

Tricky car to handle. Haven't driven much this combo and gave it a go.
The setup seems to work for race. The tires seem to take some time to get their heat up. The gearing seems just fine but i'm not much of a mechanic .

My time with your setup 1.19.94 after 11 laps run out of fuel and this was my first go. So getting used to the track/setup after 6 laps so after that the times are ok.

Hope this helps

Ps. Checked your replay. Couple of pointers if you may. T1 braking too late, T2(after the long straight) turning in a bit too early -> turn becomes a bit too sharp try to make it smoother and maybe T5(second to last corner, downhill braking) i think in this one too you might be turning in a bit too early. Other then these seemed fine.

Tryied to sent the *mpr again, because wasn't sure about the earlier ones. So sorry for multiple sends of the same file, if they got there .

And hope not to send anymore of these in the future, first time sending a report.
Seems to be working now.

I'm having some difficulties sending a report with the wrecker report.
After pressing send i get this page telling me the page cannot be displayed. So am i doing something wrong or is it in the other end. The *.mpr is about 1.1mb in size so not too big i guess.

Using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4

Thanks for the zip. But I have some trouble still installing this software it insists that i'm not the administrator, eventhough i defenitively am. So i'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems using this patch?

Tried every other patch and had the same problem as you Kalev.
