Quote from danowat :There are plenty of feminine cars, the Audi TT, the Mazda MX-5 (sorry Tris), the MR2 etc etc, they all look pretty girlie.

Wha??? Are you nuts? I can't stand the MX-5 bashing that is taking place in this forum!!! And, honestly, how can a girly car drift so nicely?

IMHO girlie cars are the Smart, the Citroen C2, Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo, Ford Ka, Nissan Micra (still laughing from Richard Hammond driving around in a pink one) etc.

OTOH masculine cars are Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi EVOs etc.

As a translator, I've seen that a string exists that says: "cannot reset, as this will result in a yellow flag situation".

So, if the yellow flag algorithm is to get better and work (because currently it leaves a lot to be desired), and if the automatic resetting is (or becomes) equivalent to manual resetting as far as the game's engine is concerned, then problem solved: when one is about to be teleported back to the track, then he would actually have to wait until there is no possibility for yellow flag.

Since the next incompatible patch will also have the option for allowing or disallowing car resetting in a server, I see that it might be possible to resolve this issue soon.

Quote from TyresHot :i think google earth sux is there any alternatives?

Your timing couldn't have been more perfect. Microsoft just unveiled its own earth-browsing thingie.

You'll need Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer to use it, but I'm sure that IE is your favorite browser so you won't have any problems.

Oh and there's NASA World Wind, too.

Note that if the mountain heights do not look right, you can adjust them in the options: the "elevation exaggeration" can be tuned to make the height aspect more realistic.

I recently became obsessed with the Ariel Atom.

I wouldn't mind seeing that in LFS... I wouldn't mind at all!!

And since Ariel is such a small, UK-based company, the devs might actually have a chance with licensing it... which would be soooooo great!

(edit: saw some other posters on page 31 who voted for it... let's keep our fingers crossed. )

See ya Victorrrrrrrrrrrr!

BTW, why not do something with that autoxtest stuff? For instance, leave maintainership to someone else, or release the code, or make it an extra package for downloading... I believe it would be a waste to throw away such good work. Unless you have other plans, of course.

Now I get to bug Scawen if I have anything to ask or request about LFS translations! Woohoo!!!

I hope he doesn't end up with any permanent damage and will return to the show, even if it will take him a couple of months!

The crash sounds like it was very bad......

I'm kind of interested and intrigued, but I'm not very sure about it for many reasons, so I won't be bothered to fill in the form just yet.

Aside from LFS, I play tetrinet.

Yes, tetrinet indeed.

It's like tetris, only multiplayer.

Why are you laughing?

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Concorde had the lowest crash rate out of all jet liners, but because of what happened they had to change the tryes on the whole fleet, which cost so much people couldn't afford to fly with them and they went belly up.

Heh, I just watched a BBC documentary on the Concorde.

An interesting fact that impressed me a lot: before the Concorde was grounded for ever, it was having these safety issues fixed and was scheduled to fly again. On the morning of that dreadful 9 /11 they were actually having the first test flight from England to the middle of the Atlantic and then back again!

Blimps are very weird to operate; they need particular weather conditions.

We had one visiting us at the Olympic games 2 years ago, for surveillance reasons: article.

This is an extremely interesting story ... got that beast to Athens. Truly entertaining read, I highly recommend it!

I remember there were many days where the wind was strong enough to disallow the blimp from taking off; and considering that we are talking about Athens in August here, you can imagine how little wind it can endure.

Quote from Lible :Yup, it is damn annoying, the idling feature would be cool... but there's that damn text always with it. I don't care if "Player" is idling, just spectate him.

Regarding LFS Lapper: Perhaps all messages could be prepended with ':', to eliminate the "fsh" sound. That would make sense since they are server messages and don't really need special attention.

Quote from Jakg :which of course he says JUST when you have enough time to respond, do so any later (ie 0.2 of a second) or lock the tyres and your toast!

You can adjust the pacenotes in the options, so that the co-driver will "stack" more of them and say them earlier.

Quote from Jakg :i changed it, but my pc crashed, luckily it saved what i had writen but not that!

Let me get this straight. You made a spelling error, you made some corrections and fixed the spelling error, and at the exact point you pressed "Save", your PC crashed and saved everything else except that?

Hey Veiti, this looks very good!!!

I have a feature request, though. I would like to run this in an other computer! I have a laptop and a subnotebook that could be placed below my main desktop monitor.

Now, I believe that LFSD needs to know the location of LFS.exe only for its integration feature, such as starting and quitting LFS.exe together with itself, right?

So I think that making this location optional would enable some people (like me) experiment with running this on a different host.

Otherwise, any tip on making LFSD run as much "standalone" as possible would be appreciated.

Of course, my other feature request would be, make the thing fullscreen, and fill the screen with those dials and gadgets.

Cheers,
Avel
