Ah Hard Drivin' Awesome game!!! The graphics were terrible, especially the cockpit and the blocky 3d graphics, but boy was it fun!! Thanks Cue-Ball for bringing back memories!

NaBUru38 - regarding the URL you just posted; are you aware of racer?

Anyway, I'd really like people to post ideas regarding objects that could be added in the game, other that the ones I've posted above. Even if that means that we will wait for S3...
More stunts-friendly options: Objects, check lines etc.

I have been greatly enjoying the racing, the competition, the handbrake-U turns and the ramps in the various StuntRacingServers generously hosted by SRC (IIRC).

The whole thing reminded me of an old favorite Amiga and PC game called 4D Sports Driving. If you google for it, you will find some cool stuff like tracks, layouts and replays.

I would really like to see LFS head into that direction too, apart from normal track racing, since the physics can really give it a lot of excitement. Of course, the most important thing for now is the physics improvements -- and I'm looking forward to them too ;-) -- but I just want to express my personal dreams for LFS.

So what would I specifically propose? Here's a list with things that I have come up with:

- Allow more objects to be placed in the track, raise the current limits.
- Allow more checkpoint lines to be added on demand.
- Make more objects available, such as:
- ramps that can be adjusted in dimensions (width, height and
- bumps such as the ones in the fast chicane of Kyoto GP.
- really crazy objects, such as a go-upside-down ramp, or objects that are essentially roads elevated to some strange angle.
- additional posts and signs that give directions to the drivers. Additional chalk arrows for the roads as well.
- Make the option to remove the "wrong way" message when such layouts are used.
- A way to make persistent high-scores, perhaps stored in the server itself, not in LFSW.

What do you think???

Actually I would take it a bit further than that, in actual S2 servers:

when logging in to a server, properly display a text with an introduction and the regulations that are set up for this particular server.

That's because some servers, such as drifting servers, might not care about the flag thingies or clean racing at all.

It would also bring the appropriate mood to people connecting to a server.

Indeed, 125cc was just awesome.

Tip for europeans: If you didn't see today's race, check out the replays of the race at Eurosport, or see Motorsport weekend tonight at Eurosport, to see what you missed.

Eurosport TV Schedule

There's ton of motorsports today btw.

Heh, my Electron worked fine for getting S2 licence.

Indeed I have two Visa Electron cards. The one can only be used for getting cash from ATMs really. I use the other one I have, as a debit card really, for online shopping.

Quote from Scawen :1253 Greek (possibly not in first version)

Yeayyyyy

I hope I can do a greek translation of LFS when this is ready, I've been thinking about it for a long time. All I have to do is find the time to do it...

This is not deer- but cat-related.

I was cruising in my city (Athens, Greece) at 110km/h in a very wide straight fast road (limit 90km/h), when suddenly a cat decides to cross the road.

Unfortunately the poor cat passed away.

It is very common here to hit animals by mistake, because there are many astray animals, cats and dogs, usually because of stupid 'owners' who abandon them in the streets when they are 'bored' of their pets.

And to think that I am a huge animal lover... I was very sad for days. But I had no time to react

Sometimes, it is so much dangerous that it comes down to "it's either me or it".

From what I gathered, LFS S2 final will be so full featured, it will include a kitchen sink.

Hah hah hah....

Bismark, I would recommend the site priuschat.com to get a bit more acquainted with this car. You will be surprised to see the things that people discover in this car overtime. You will also read about the "Pulse and Glide" efficient driving technique, that allows one to achive mileage as good as 100mpg (2lt/100km for us Europeans). Otherwise mileage is typically around 50mpg.

The car is really a technological marvel.

And in my book, it actually beats the crap out of BMW and Mercedes 8-)

Wah. ***jealous***

I'm dreaming of getting a Prius at some point. It's pretty expensive for my wallet, though.

Will even sell that Ford Focus of mine to get closer to a Prius... 8-)

Sorry no suggestions.

Just to mention that with the nvidia driver package, I have tried LFS S1 and LFS S2 Demo and they were playable, apart from some glitches in the graphics.

Some people have posted hints and tricks for wine in the old LFS forum @ racingsims, be sure to search around in there too.

Quote from (SaM) :You can host a LAN or a demo server and they can connect to it and view your car. Do you know how to?

Hm, that would not work for others' S2 servers.

A good idea would be, to allow connection to just one more PC with the same username / licence, and only allow spectating on that one too, to enable the spectate feature that you request.

In addition, it could be server-specific too. (Option to allow spectator-only connections, if such thing can exist).

Probably if it is requested by many people, the devs could consider it, if it is technically feasible and not-too-tricky.

IMHO the best force feedback feeling I've experienced is in Richard Burns Rally. One cannot emphasize how realistic this game is.

LFS comes second.
