The online racing simulator
Jolly good combo, 0.6.1 locked at 59 fps performs and drives surpsingly well.

KTM X-Bow R
update is earlier than I expected
Still doesn't help me, I still can't join my own server.
I keep getting requesting car list timed out.
HTTP port is not mapped. I had the same thing. Make sure you have both ports mapped correctly.
Http 8075
UDP 9600

Port forwarding tool said the ports are open.

I see the server it has a ping.

I'm a bit of a noob with this sort of thing.

Can you give me some detail on what you mean with HTTP.

Thanks

Sometimes randomly I get this 6 times in a row and then it suddenly lets me in server. 30% of the time it actually loads it instantly and lets me join quickly. 70% of the time it just repeats car list timed out and never actually says it loads the cars yet they all are working in the race tho

My friend my can get in ok, very strange.
Nords 0.6.2 is really great.
But I had too seriously lower the eye candy to play this version and forget about sweetFX
I think now you need at least GTX 780 to enjoy this track with nice graphics (not maxed out, just above average)

I think the biggest fail is that Snoopy can't make LOD's, whole track gets rendered at all times.
Shadows are a real fps killer, I've set it from high to medium, can't see much difference and had about 20% less gpu usage. (on a gtx 770)
Running shadows at medium since release, and notice no difference with my 680GTX.

There are some HUGE textures in this release, those might bring some cards to their knees.

I took it that this issue is down to the current (unofficial) mod tools
Someone mentioned that they didn't have this much fun for years, so true.. One lap of the Ring, or Mugello, or Imola, or Silverstone.. or pretty much any track, miles better then any of the LFS tracks :/ And it's not even because these are 'real'. Just that the layout of almost any LFS track sucks..

Driving real cars and real tracks would always be more fun. I think Eric or whoever designed LFS tracks did a great job, but why should I waste my time in AS4 @ XRR when I can just put myself at Nordschleife driving oversteery GT3... So much challenge and the physics is somehow LFS-ish, so I just can not see myself turning on LFS after proper finish of AC. Actually I haven't turned it on for ages, but this will be definite KO.
Oh come on guys, you cannot really, realistically compare AC and LFS. AC has licensed tracks and cars for starters. What LFS has done for us all for over 10+yrs has been amazing for cars and tracks, game play, netcode and for most, making some fantastic friends......Lets see if AC can do the same for the next 10+yrs

Don't get me wrong, from that standpoint i agree completely. I don't think it will ever get to that 'feeling' that LFS gave us all these years. I can't even edit textures here ffs
Just commented the tracks.. they do suck most of them, and i can't believe i was in that "NO MODS!" boat all these years..
Currently best 2 sims according to lots of people - it has to be compared.

but..... but..... tyre deformation!
I'll never truly like AC until they improve the steering feel. The 458 is just so floaty feeling at low steering angles, for example, but all the cars are prone to wandering around the straight-ahead way too much.
I'll also never really get in to the online mode until they install some excellent pickup racing systems.
Oh, and whilst the topic is there, LFS circuits are excellent, imo. They fit the brief really well, the S1 tracks focused around the sorts of cars that came with them brilliantly. I never really loved Aston, but Fern Bay just captures that "style" of circuit so well, the layouts are excellent, and I would drive those tracks in any sim. South City is an excellent city circuit, and Kyoto Ring is an excellent Oval/infield circuit too. I don't care about real circuits in video games, or real cars, none of it's real so who cares? Laser scanning gives the circuit (hopefully) a realistic surface fidelity but it's still all polygons and pixels. I'll always prefer the narrow tight style circuits, and honestly I couldn't care less whether they exist in real life or not. I'd rather drive Fern Bay than some Tilke crap any day.
Fern Bay eh.. The most ridicilous layouts, kurbs, and colors of any driving game in the world It's like engine from Morrowind or something like that
And steering feel, honestly i have no idea what you're talking about , every E30 version, X-Bow, Formula Abarth, Lotus 2-11 etc.. give pornographic feel through the steering wheel.. Not all cars i agree, some are a tad floaty and dead.
e30 is better, the D version even better still, KTM is excellent, don't like the F Abarth changing direction in it feels like spinning a bicycle pedal the wrong way, 2-11 is okay. Almost all the cars will "try" to wander, you'll straighten the steering and there's a little yaw, like a lazy shimmy. Or you'll make a small correction of line on a straight, and then have to lock down the lazy attempt to oscillate (it doesn't have to actually oscillate for you to feel it trying to). I'm quite fussy.

Nothing wrong with the layouts or kerbs of Fern Bay. They are what they are, some crappy low budget poorly maintained circuits on some island in the Caribbean, perfect. Colours? Trees green, sand yellow, tarmac grey: Done

And I take it you have driven these...all personally in real life otherwise how can you comment
