I have almost the same problem, but no matter what I tried, doesnt seem to work. FFB always wants to center the wheel, no feedback from car at all. I get this error at startup:
DI : SetProperty - DIERR_UNSUPPORTED
Tried reinstalling the drivers, tried a fresh copy of lfs, the new test patch, profiler, like evertyhing. Doesnt work. It was ok yesterday, didnt even restart my PC since then. Any ideas?
I'm not sure when Ill get home from skiing, but if my memory is correct its gonna be dec 21. If its dec 22., I wont be able to make it. So count me in as not sure, will check the correct date soon.
I do play, both real and play money. Used to do freerolls on carbon poker, but nowdays im playing on PKR with some guys from the hungarian league. We do play every night, so if you wanna have ur arse kicked just yell
On A/F I wanted to say air and fuel, not the ratio of the mixture. And if you read down a bit, you would see that I misread your post. And no, I didnt copy nothing from wiki. As I said, I just misread it. Read it twice next time
ps: Yep, I admit I was wrong with the supercharger, its quite a rare stuff over here, so I just havent experienced it so far. Ppl learn from their faults :P
I was thinking bout the same yesterday when I saw a vauxhall with RHD. Dont really know how he could drive over here, like how do you overtake if you just cant see whats in the opposite lane? And for shifting, afaik the gears are in the same position, so 1st would be top left. I dont think I would ever be able to learn that..
HAHA get this:
Not so long ago I was in a shopping centre, and was heading to the parking lot. Its a pay-to-park stuff, so at the entrace you gotta push a button to get a ticket, and that thing is on the left side. So I was driving in, stopping at the car in front of me. Suddenly the driver opens the right door, walks to the machine to the left, presses the button, and grabs the ticket, and then walks back. Man, I never laughed that bad this year so far I laughed so hard I stalled the car like 3 times till I parked it
To be on-topic. I use both RHD and LHD depending on track. There are some tracks where you can gain several tenths by switching sides, and also effects the tyre temperature, and wearing. I also use wheel view. Not like I cant drive in cockpit, I just like the more view it offers since we cant move our head in-game like we do in real life. Cockpit view just wont make it more realistic for me.
Still, revs itself doesnt mean boost really builds up. Like you have the car in neutral, then rev it to lets say 4000 rpm, then load that engine (to be simple, be in gear and just step on the brake). In neutral, since its not under load, less A/F needed to get the revs, which equals in less exhaust. Then in the next case, when loading the engine, it does more work to maintain the same rev, which means more A/F, more exhaust -> the turbo effectively builds up boost.
Its not just about how fast it builds up the boost (because at 4000rpm in neutral you will not have boost effectively), but how much boost it builds up if it does any.
Like I have a supercharged 3.8 in my car. Since its a 'forced-fed' engine, we can talk about boost. During daily driving, I can simply drive without making any boost. No boost either when revving it in neutral. Boost only builds up when the engine is loaded.
Im not saying you are wrong, I just say revs itself doesnt mean theres built up boost in the cylinder head. Also, cruisin at 60 km/h at 3000 revs wont make boost building up, not even slowly. Load is what you ned when you want to build up boost.
PS: ah, sorry, seems like I totally misread the facts, and wanted to prove the opposite. You have to excuse me, its 5:15 am
I started LFS after a reboot, but when it started, it said Could not load profile: [tHR] rev. I cant delete it, cant rename it, can do nothing with it. I tried to find the profile files in the LFS directory, but no luck. Anyone has any idea how to bring it back? Cause from now, I cant use my name, and I really need it
A bit off. In RACE, when a car lags, it just disappears without any visual sign. The problem is that where it disappears, the car physicly stays there, but its invisible.
So when someone in front of you starts to lag, you hit his invisible lagged car all the time. Needless to say, a full server with some lagging players is even worse than public demo ones in LFS..
Its like a slalom course, but with invisible objects... unplayable.
Oh yea, and forgot the most embarassing one. Hungarian summer cup, 3rd race. SO4R with restricted XFR's. (bit off: try xfr with 30% intake, its pure joy to drive)
Qualified 1st, norbi behind me. First few laps we took over each other, lead changed lap by lap. Everything went well, I just backed up a bit (2-3 secs), cuz I wasnt really faster. Went into pits, had some damage, took me 10 secs. I knew I would beat norbi after pitting, cuz he met the walls a bit more than me. He went into the pits, I was liek 10 secs in front of him, had 7 laps to go.
Easy left, right, then the U turn. Went a bit wide, curbs made my wheel wobble a bit, the wobbling twitched my desk, and the DVI cable slipped out of my monitor Got up like rocket, put it in, i just sat down, and it slipped out again. Finished 2nd 1,5 secs behind. Damn that was hell of a race..
Low fps, or some random screen freezes. No matter how many players are in the server, nor what graphics is LFS running at. Sound starts to pop, LFS shows its running at 80-120 fps, but its more likely 10-20 in-game. Started doing this like 2 days ago, still couldnt find out why.
And the best is that it only does it in dangerous corners, like SO1 chicane, or at starts. Could finish like 2 races out of 10 on CTRA last night, it really drives my crazy.
Well, sounds like german at least Gotta be some baloney then, the co-driver was making jokes all along.
The first few sentences:
Dude, you will toast this barrack so much, we will shit ourselves.
5 left, we travelled 200 kms for this. And we are gone, where are we? 150 3 right into wide?
Too bad the whole feeling isnt really translateable, its priceless
Heres my ride, a 1990 Ford Thunderbird 35th Anniversary Edition.
There were only 3371 anniversary ones produced, and as far as I know, 147 of them were manuals. Well, I have a manual one
Still have tons of work left, the previous owner didnt really take care of the car, so its kinda messed up.
Tomorrow we will put the new engine in (from my other '90 SC), because its more than just a guess that the connecting rod bearing in the engine is broken. Hope shes gonna breathe soon
Some details:
3.8 supercharged V6
210 hp @4000rpm 427nm @2600 rpm (155kw and 315 lb/ft)
4 independent suspensions (yea, on a '90 american car)
Factory LSD
Electronic ride control, automaticly thightens up the suspension under strong braking or accelaration, can be switched to firm manually)
More to come whens she hits the streets
btw, she will look exactly like this (I hope)
Thats a fully stock car, even the tainted windows.
