Quote from Bob Smith :Some searching would have proved useful: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=23657
For anything else, I just google. Any info on springs, camber, brake balance, and others, is very hard to come by.

Yeah, thats why I asked for some help hehe I visited so many honda forums, I almost know all the Civic's gear ratio and transmission code...
Brake balance and power I might get from come car services where they test the cars for don't know whats that in english, but for the spring and damping rates I'm clueless.

Quote from Bean0 :Enthusiast sites would be your best bet I think.
A few 106/Saxo sites list the full gear ratios of the commonly fitted boxes for example.

Yeah, I could find ratios of CRX and Civics, and some spring rates, but I'm not sure if they are factory numbers, or some aftermarket stuff.

Best ones would be cars around 75bhp, Polo, Punto like cars, or Corsas maybe.

Quote from hrtburnout :For gear ratios, you could try Carfolio.com. I have no clue about suspension info though.

On most sites theres only the final and top gear ratio. On some VW forums I could find the ratios by searching for transmission code, but the rest I couldn't.
Detailed real car specs

I've been looking around for quite a long time searching for real car's specs, but I haven't found a car with all the setup specs available.

So, I'm looking for stuff like gear ratios, spring and damping rates, as well as brake power and bias.
In autodata there are a few things, like camber, toe and factory tire pressure. On some forum I could find several car's gear ratios, weight distribution, but no spring or damping rates, not talking about brake force and bias. I don't know if it's possible to get such detailed data, hope dies last.

I'm trying mediafire.com as the host for the layouts, and it seems to work quite well. Layouts are renamed, and in order now. They are also uploaded in different folders, as well as the sets. Lot more organized now.

Have fun!

I'm ready with the refined version soon..

edit: done. Most corners are accurate, although I ran out of objects, so I had to cut it simple.

Here's my try. Scaled down a bit, some turns are not accurate, but I tried to do my best.
The layout is in my layout thread. Enjoy.

I'd say few more classes or at least more cars in a class, like C63AMG, M3, IS-F, RS4, then a minivan class like a Transit, Transporter, Vivaro, Boxer etc, or some hot hatches with similar performance, but each one having it's upside or downside, like better brakes, or wider tires, 10 more hp and so. It would make racing much more interesting I think.
Man I'd love to drive those vans in LFS

That's Thursday

edit: new one added, also gonna make some shorter ones (~20sec). Enjoy.

4. People that won't play it at all because they don't know how to unzip/install it...... 25%

Although that figure is probably generous.

/facepalm

Well, those who can't extract an exe, don't deserve to be able to play LFS :P Having that little knowledge about PCs means they would be just a pain in the ass all round.
Don't want to be rude, but simply it's the fact..

Quote from andy_bonjon :
But finally, talking of this being used in an LX6, there are some Caterhams that have been prepared for track day type instruction lessons where a brake pedal for the instructor has been installed. When the pupil loses loses control of the car (which is almost inevitable!!), the instructor simply stands on the brake pedal to lock up the front wheels in order to make sure the front slides instead of the whole car spinning! That would be an interesting one to test in LFS.

That would require a brake balance pushed more to the front. Even if not, the rear would also lock up. You don't want to lock your wheels too often in the LX, nor in any cars.
I was wondering why people need such a difficult technique? If you lose the rear like that, you're doing something very very wrong. When you're entering a corner, or in mid-corner, you can predict what the car will do, or how it will behave with the current inputs. As for an example (might be just my personal style), RAC and XRG and also LX cars I drive with minimal steering inputs in corners. I mean just before I enter the turn, I shake the car just a tiny bit, to prepare it for the corner entrance. Therefor I need minimal wheel movement to turn the car. Also on curbs, when I hit them I use a bit of countersteer when I go over them and land, to prevent losing the rear.

I just say when you need moves like that understeering maneuver, boy you are doing something really wrong

Wow, I never really thought of anti-countersteering. Don't know If I ever used it, but I'm not sure if I got the whole thing right.
So, If the rear loses grip, while let's say turning left, instead of countersteering to the right you turn more to the left, right? Thats nuts
Smaller slides you can control with fast countersteering, but for the bigger ones, don't think this would help, or at least it's not the fastest way to correct your mistake.
I say precountersteer is the best option of all :P

Quote from hazaky :Well, kinda its true. Your nervous when you havnt got smoke for a "enough" long time and then, when you'll get it. Your calm

It's not the absence of smoking that makes me nervous, but other things. Smoking just calm me down in those situations. If I don't get in that kind of things, I smoke a lot less, or sometimes even forgot to light it.

I do smoke, for around 3,5-4 years now. In the first 2 years, I it did it not because of the addiction, but as a supplementary act. And thats the worst. I had my daily routine, lets say walking home, or sitting in front of my PC, where I didn't really do anything, but smoke. And it's really hard to get rid of it. If my dad doesn't make me angry with his daily BS, I can live without it for days, but since my dad doesn't leave me do my stuff for a single minute, I smoke a pack every day. Not planning to do it forever, it just helps a little in the current situation we are in...

Quote from danowat :Looks interesting, if only for the fact it has a Lada, I mean, A LADA? lmao

Here in Hungary LADA is a lifestyle, and one of the most - if not the most used rally car. Cheap, RWD, russian. You only need a hammer, ducktape and a buzz-saw to repair.
You western-europeans won't understand it
