I think Scawen's character has substance, and I belive him when he says he's still developing the game. You're appear think he's deceiving the community by claiming to develop when he's actually sitting on his arse doing nothing. I don't believe this is the case.
I'm not a tester or a secret anything. I've never claimed to be either, so I'm not sure what you (and everyone you claim to speak for) are dubious about.
He's not missing. He was never her in the first place, with one exception which someone will probably regurgitate shortly...
Close, it's Elliot Goblet.
Perhaps the bastard child of Eddie Jordan and Gordon Freeman?
OT - I agree with the above post. People saying development has stopped are really accusing Scawen of being a liar, and deceiving the community, presumably to make a buck for nothing.
This something I strongly believe is not true, and is no doubt pretty offensive.
Actually, it's very obvious that work is actually being done (just, slowly). The 'bwahaha' is on you here.
My daughter wasn't even born, and we've conceived a second child since the announcement (true!). All this means nought except that, it's taking a long time... Everyone already knew that, but thanks for reminding us again.
I agree that it's time the Devs updated the community, but keep some perspective.
There are no sheepstations at stake for you with this. It's just a game.
Don't be so agressive and demanding. You just come across as a bit of a wanker.
You're right, but it just means that most people who buy LFS hear about it through word of mouth and/or visiting the forums.
I'm sure it's cost them some sales though. It mustn't concern the dev(s) though, or they would have done something about it. Their call.
In terms of updating the community on development progress... yes it's time they did it.
Many of us are looking forward to the physics changes rather than the Scirocco. At the moment, I'm happy enough driving offline occasionally. Just give the AI a headstart = funz.
You seem to have a shallow view of the game online too, but that's your loss.
I appreciate the info but I absolutely agree with the Devs, that trucks should not be introduced in to LFS. Both from a personal taste point of view, and a from a 'current state of development' point of view.
There have been plenty of updates since 2006 when your account was created.
None of those previous updates ever prompted you to buy a licence, but you would have us believe that this particular update will, BUT only if it is released before 20/10/2010.
To the contrary, I think that more people would take pride if there was a safety rating in LFS and I'd love to see one implemented.
In all, I think that if LFS had more structure (outside leagues that people set up themselves) that you'd find less destructive behaviour online.
The dickhead racers invariably hang out on pickup race servers because the races don't really mean anything to them. If the game had some structure, and each race had a meaning (contributed to rating for example), then I think a lot of them would be better behaved, and/or their behaviour would be less tolerated.
OT - this thread title is exaggerated and provocative, and should be changed. If there was a rot destroying LFS, then it is thread titles like this one!
The mods have left this thread open as somewhere for people to bitch and moan, and for others to bitch and moan about the bitching and moaning, so that at least it's all in one place.
I see this statement as only a half truth. Sure, it's not 'delayed' as such because the Devs have never promised timeframes.
However it's a fact that development output has slowed a lot in the last couple of years. This is a different to the past when releases were more frequent, and not just 'how LFS is'.
I have big hopes for the next patch, but it will be LFS's last chance.
It needs to be a cracker, and things need to develop at a consistent pace from then on or I think it's doomed. It doesn't need to be developed fast, just faster than the last 2 so years.
Having said that, I disagree with the OP's point that the move towards realism is it's downfall. If anything, realism will be it's saviour.
