F1 teams have already been doing this for years. They use some form of simulation software (not driving for this purpose) to calculate braking points, optimum corner entry speed etc. Last season the UK F1 coverage had a short item showing Button's team reviewing the results.
IIRC the computer calculated best possible lap at Monaco for the Mclaren in 91 or 92 was actually beaten by Senna in his qualifying lap.
Yes and there's quite a difference between these normal folk and those in poorer countries where the price of LFS probably exceeds an entire week's wages. Move to a third world country where sim racing is a luxury that is probably not even heard of, and the cost is likely closer to a month's wages.
Anyone in the west who can afford internet access should consider the price of LFS as reasonable.
I think LFS is priced correctly. The devs have to price it relatively to the price of games in their country, which (in Scawen's case) is the UK. I feel for the people for whom it is relatively very high compared to their income though.
Ooh, would this be possible? Please adopt this rule ASAP if it is, I'd certainly race more LFS if this punishment was in effect
I don't know these folk, and will probably get a nasty telling off for simply joining in where I have no business to do so, but I admire their verve. Keep it up and red card the lot of em if they deserve it.
It wasn't plugged in. The TV. It didn't work. Because it wasn't plugged in. I asked if he'd plugged it in, he said he had, but he hadn't. So it didn't work.
My little step brother bought himself a widescreen TV with some cash he inherited. He couldn't get it to work so he came downstairs and asked me to help.
"Is it plugged in?" I asked. "Of course it is" he answered. I told him to go upstairs and check. He did, came back and assured me it was plugged in, but still wouldn't work. I said I'd be mad if I went to help and it wasn't plugged in, so I told him to check once again.
After a few minutes he came back and said it was definitely plugged in, but simply wouldn't work. So I dragged myself off the sofa and went to have a look.
When finding speed and the limit, in RL you'd start well under your limit and push upwards, edging faster and towards the limit.
In sims, you generally do the opposite, attacking a track over the limit, then edging downwards until you are within your limit. It's fundamental difference and one that really affects how we drive compared to RL I guess.
Hopefully a sim at some point will give the options of greater consequences which forces us to approach driving more like RL. nkPro's full mode does this to some extent.
Today on the radio, a pro gun nutter was saying that it's important to keep gun laws as they are, so that you can defend yourself as and when you need to. Seems like none of the victims in this massacre took any notice of this advice. None of their cold dead hands were holding a gun which may have defended them.
Obviously it doesn't work. Less guns = less gun deaths. The argument that outlawing them mean guns will only be in the hands of outlaws is flawed in my opinion. They will have them anyway, legally as it stands now. Most other people don't carry them about with them, and wouldn't be comfortable or competent in using them against other people. It's occasional tragedies like this which highlight that they are too accessible. This guy walked into a store five weeks ago and bought them.
Why a GPL mod? Just because it's (partly) the same team? Does this mean every new sim has to have entirely new developers for it not to simply be a mod of a previous incarnation?
Today I got round to updating from V to W. Great work, and I like the new sounds
I see in the readme that LOD's have been upped. I have put the user LOD up to full, but still get quite a lot of pop up, specifically on the fences / grandstands along the side of the track at South City (only track I've checked).
Am I missing a setting?
It's still a minor issue compared to all the other great things going on, but it is something that I always notice, and it continues to be a distraction - I can't help but look at the offending fences each time I pass
I imagine he ships worldwide. When you contact him, tell him you want to connect G25 pedals via the d plug connector. He can make the wire for you. He can also make the wire to connect direct to the pots in the pedals, but you have to open your pedals for that, voiding the warranty.
