Quote from dekojester :Why in the world were you in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday night ? And what part of Cincy were you in ?

It was for my nephew's birthday party in the northern 'burbs. I don't go to Cinci on purpose, although the Newport Aquarium is nice.

I drove past that statue during a nasty storm Saturday night on the way home from Cincinnati. I always assumed it was concrete.

I'm not a Schumi lover or hater, but I counted at least 3 times in the race when he shortcutted the final chicane. I know the rules say you can't gain a position by shortcutting, but what about cutting down lap times?

There has to be some kind of rule to prevent it, or guys would shortcut all over the place to close up on the guy in front of them. If nothing else, it speaks to a driver's ability that he outbraked himself 3 times in the same turn.

Quote from AMB :not going to lie but i didnt watch lost but its still crap sfrom what people ive heard tells me, so good riddance

I don't understand how a show that you never watched has inconvenienced you. Do you celebrate the end of every TV show (that you haven't watched) when it goes off the air?

TBH, it sounds like you let go of a real keeper.

It should be interesting. Hopefully they don't hold the race in the middle of summer like the last F1 race in Texas.

IMO given the nature of the series, it would have been a complete sell out to answer every question. One of the great joys of Lost was trying to figure out WTH was going on. The ending should be no different.

I watched almost every episode. At times, I thought it was wandering (Lost in the woods, as it were), but that's part of the fun. I think the thing that kept me watching the show was knowing that it had a firm ending date. Had it been endless plot twists with no end in sight I'm sure I would have given up.

Quote from Dajmin :Total arcade horse handling. They do all the individual hoof controls for you, and there's no real feeling of the mane brushing against your chest as you gallop along. You don't even have to feed it or shovel up endless piles of horse crap.

Very disappointing. When will we get a decent horse sim without a monthly fee? I guess I'll start saving up my iGallop bucks.

the "individual hoof controls" line reminds me of QWOP

Horse control is a bit funky.

Is it a sim hoof model or more arcade-like?

If you haven't played for a LONG time, this may be the first time you've tried to list hosts using UDP...

http://www.lfsforum.net/showth ... ;highlight=udp+test+patch

Quote :
List is produced much faster (by using UDP instead of TCP)

Others have posted similar problems. Sometimes it's a router issue (blocking UDP), sometimes it's an ISP issue.

Hope that helps.

I want to see another race in the near future finish under caution to see if they wave the green flags when the safety car pits. It would amount to the FIA admitting that they screwed up in Monaco.

It sounds like iracers can expect some good releases this year.

LFS can recognize more than one controller. When you plug in the gamepad, windows might be remapping your usb controller ids. Try to reassign your controls in LFS once you have the gamepad plugged in.

Quote from J@tko :So what are you all going to do if the devs actually have lost motivation and development stopped right now?

If the devs threw up their hands and quit right now, it could turn out for the best. Especially if they published the track file format.

Quote from trebor901 :didnt this car when it first got entered into V8 Supercars carry the new sequential gearbox?

The in-car shots from watching the V8s on Speed this year show a sequential stick shifter. Forward for downshifts, back for upshifts. This iracing thing is getting really tempting... must... resist...

Great video. My (then 3 year old) son loved to watch the original. Now if somebody would just bring back the fake RAC advertisement...

Quote from janka116 :
Thos Trents was one player ,one driving all other Trents siting in boxes
If remeber right that hes nick was (Trent-Omega1,, Trent-Omega2.) and other etc

It sounds like what you saw was a group of people using the same team tag on their nick name. Most teams have a tag in front of the player nick names. It's unusual that they all banned you. Hope that helps.

Quote from samjh :It wasn't a penalty. He was reprimanded. In other words: "I'm going to let you go this time, but don't do it again, or you will get a real bollocking."

And he was reprimanded for weaving last race. How many reprimands does it take to get a penalty?

OT: Are there trailer parks in the UK? I was under the impression that tornados only hit trailer parks. :P

IMO one of the biggest benefits of a site like simraceway is organizing which mods (out of the hundreds out there) people will be running in leagues. Since there are no additional cars and tracks to download for LFS it wouldn't fly that well.

Race2play is a similar site that organizes leagues for rfactor, gtr2, gt legends, etc. They tried LFS a few times (once was a private league run by me ) and it never flew. LFS people generally don't understand the benefit of a site like that. And race2play people didn't understand why you'd want to run mostly fake cars on entirely fake tracks.

If you want to see the LFS community's reaction to r2p, just do a search for race2play in this forum.

Anyone else watching on Speed in the US? There's no car sound or pit radio. It's like they converted all the cars to electric overnight

Have they given any indication which license the V8 Supercar series will be? IIRC from this thread a lot of the cars in iracing have open diffs. And I thought I heard somewhere that V8 Supercars have locked diffs. Might be interesting to see how a different diff handles in iracing.

Not that I've jumped into the iracing boat yet, but I will one of these days...

If you just want to see a race at Bristol, the summer truck race is the way to go. I got my tickets for $8 each there two years ago. There was a special if you ordered your tickets on 08/08/08 they were $8 each. I think normally the truck race tickets are around $20, and it's general admission seating.
