Quote from deggis :And yet he continues his weird agenda:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/t ... europe/article2836362.ece

He has points but what do they have to do with this single event, is unknown.

Maybe bad experiences from a business trip?

Oh what a load of crap again. He got some problems correct, but I really doubt they have anything to do with this one madman. Besides, those problems are very common trough the western world anyway. And what is wrong blaming the shooter for all this? I mean, he was the one who did it. I do understand why you can search the reasons from the society, but only in to a point, and he dwells beyond the point I feel reasonable.

But above all I hate how he spreads all these prejudices about the Finns in every second sentence. Sure, we don't talk much as other Europeans, well, because over here empty talk is considered for the empty headed. Sure it's changing, the young people know the small talk and it's getting more common. But I do not understand how that idiot can't understand the concept of cultural differences. This is not like your country, get over with it you freaking idiot and pay some respect.

Thought you went on brake again. What are you doing here, go already.

I still can not understand the people who say they don't like LFS and feel it's not for them, but still hang around moaning about it. If you do not honestly care, go away, being a silly troll is waste of time.

What is this guy trying to be, somekind of giant brain who knows it all. He obviously didn't understand why people were pissed off with his previous analysis. It was not because he was trying to provoke a discussion, but because comparison to ancient mythology was stupid and the hard "facts" were pulled out of his arse or 18th century travel catalog. Sure the Kalevala is a nice epic, but I feel that foreneirs who haven't read it in Finnish can't understand the mythology and what it means...and that it is not the modern Finland. The discussion about what happened is on, we don't need some half tool who can't understand what he is writing about.

I'll be using these names from now on (because you can't write):
Haemitlon
Gulphard
Wepper
Buttocks

Yes, that was my plan too, we will forget the proper spelling of all drivers with English surname before world learns how to spell. If this will not happen, we will free the people of Norway from the tyranny of oil and cod.

It is spelled Kovalainen, not Kovalinen, Kavionlainen, Kanvioli, Kolanvilinen, Kovnnllinen. Kovalainen that is.

Lets see.

Race 1: rather good, lost my third on the last lap when Mr. Crazy English squeezed past me in the right hander after the second split.

Race 2: Nice 4th position in the grid, T1 was good. But on lap 2 Mr. English almost rolled it on the bridge in front of me, tried to slow down and dodge on the left. Then Mr Green tried to squeeze between us, hit both of us, we spun around, the drivers behind us couldn't react fast enough and the pile up was ready. Rest of the race I was trying to finish in top 8, and 8th place was indeed a blessing.

Race 3: from pole to victory. Tried to keep it safe and not to roll, Franke was closing in rather well because of that. Almost made it too, but something happened in the last chicane.

Overall I say it was fun. Quali wasn't that much of a problem for me because I was lucky enough having some room, but I didn't really have time for properly fast lap. I'd vote for longer session.

Quote from Crommi :Only hunting rifles and shotguns are sold to civilians because hunting is very popular in here, getting a legal handgun on the otherhand is pretty much impossible. I know many people who own guns but only one has a pistol aswell, he bought it in the 80's for executing sick animals on his farm.

But I suppose if you got right connections in bit city, you can get anything you want for right amount of cash.

No, it's rather easy to get a handgun as a "sport" weapon. I worked with few guys during the summer who owned several rifles and few handguns, all were made to competitive shooting, it's a sport you know. The gun used in the shooting yesterday was that kind of sport gun, .22 caliber handgun, and it does really show that it's easy to get one because he had one.

Of course, it's far more difficult than in the US where you just walk in to a store and point what you want.

Someone just happened to be Sherlock enough and found his Battlefield 2 game stats (saying that he had been online just few hours before the act) from the net and now that's already all over the news and you can read between the lines that "the shooter was a video game nerd".

.

Oh noes. I can imagine the disgusting headlines in papers.

Quote from JamesF1 :Don't bet on it, the price of crude oil went up significantly about 2 days ago... just wait until those price rises hit the world market.

Well, I meant "fixed" to more expensive. You know, we are rather used to paying the most about anything, alcohol, cars etc. so it felt weird to hear someone was paying more for petrol!

Rip-off Britain alert!! We have easily the most expensive petrol in the world, mainly because of the stupid amount of tax we have to pay on it.

Seems to be rather correct. Your petrol is around 7.80-8.10 US$/gallon (US gallon is 3,785 liters).

Warms my heart finding a country where they pay more. But I guess that is going to get fixed soon.

Quote from The General Lee :I think he is doing it by the Gallon while you are doing it by Litres.

Well WHAT do you think I converted the gallons to????

Did some new maths, and we pay 7.40 US dollars per gallon for fuel. About 5,9 for diesel.
Of course, we should remember that the fuel in Europe should be better, but still, it's ridiculously expensive compared to what the whining Americans pay.

We should spread our democracy on some oil fields too I say.

Quote from danowat :Diesel is currently £1.03 a litre, $2.16 a litre or $9.80 a gallon, and it's rising, god knows how much it will be in 6 months time.

You must have used imperial gallon? Which is silly when you are trying to compare prices.

Diesel
Lowest
$3.39
Highest
$3.59

If I did the math right, that would mean about 1.03 US dollars per litre, which is about 0,71€.

That would be ridiculously low over here. Enjoy your almost free gas when you can, would be about time you started to pay for it. Driving all those big fuel hungry hippos too.

Quote from JTbo :
I'm sure there will be more to come in future, there has been so many things that has started to go wrong here that I'm sure there is lot more of those kids left alone that will be ticking time bomb.

Yes, this is unfortunate and has more than some truth in it. I mean, many young people in this country are feeling very ill inside. You can see that just looking the suicide numbers, they are above European average with all ages over here, but I think the number of young people killing themself has gone up lately. But why? Hard to know really. Maybe the society is more competitive and people get more stressed when they are forced to grow up more and more earlier. There is a time bomb ticking away here, I hope we don't have to see more and this was it.

Makes me sad, condolences to the families, and strength for everyone involved.

Quote from daKasi :Last week I was in a Osuuspankki's presentation for students because of my financial studies and they said that you should always be aware when using OP Visa Electron on a site not Verified by Visa. So if I got it correct you should be able to use OP Visa Electron like any other Visa-card. It could be I'm still wrong, I was mostly concentrating on delicious pie we had during the presentation.

Ermh yeah. Well, as I said, they have now changed their policy and now the card works as it should.

I do not know if it works on places not verified with Visa, but it doesn't need the Verified by Visa electron tag anymore. Which is good because if you were going to buy anything outside Europe, you can as the Electron is Europe only. But no idea with Nordea.

And what kind of pie was it!?
