Quote from Bean0 :Ah, but the Russians have only stopped supplying the Ukraine.
The Ukraine are stealing the gas that they should just be transporting to the rest of Europe.

This is all dependant on which news stories you read of course.

Well, they've stopped delivering Ukraine which means any gas that went trough there to eastern Europe countries is not going there. Russia is always Russia, and I wouldn't be surprised if the gas stealing accusations were made up or if they paid someone to "steal" some gas. I remember them having this problem few years ago at the same time of the year, or was it last year? It just happens to be a great way pressuring EU to give green light for the new gas pipe trough the Baltic sea, which would be more profitable for Gazprom.

All in all, the new Soviet Russia is once again showing off their powers, and has central Europe on it's knees.

I'm now quite lost on what you actually meant after all.

edit. Not the only one I guess. Anything but the pins (yay, that's the word) can be fitted by a trained monkey.

Forgot about those, and didn't see Scrappys post either.

Yes, you really want to know those wires before screwing in the motherboard (as it's easier to read when it's not inside the case). They usually have good markings, and make sense (PWR is power, HDD is light for HDD etc.) If you have a manual it will be most useful here, it will have explanations for the wires and places. There might also be a sticker inside the computer with this information, or at least my first and last ready built machine very long time ago had. Do they have those anymore?

Haven't had any power or HDD lights in use for ages, must been why I forgot those wires, althought I had to replug my reset switch few weeks ago as it was gone loose and didn't work.

Quote from bunder9999 :say what? i made it using the master skinnerz templates...

http://www.lfs.net/file_mirror.php?name=LFS_VIEWER_6A.exe

It's a program that lets you view the skin without having to fire up main LFS exe every time. You just run it on a window and check how the skin looks, do some work, and see again.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :You have to (most of the time from experience, anyway) unplug most of the power cables from the PSU to get it in more easily. All the other hardware (ram, CPU) should be left on the board, and if you have a newer gfx card, it's also best to remove that for ease of fitting.

Ah ok, see what you mean, the word wiring just let me think taking apart connectors. Well, most of the connectors only fit where they should, so it shouldn't be that complicated. And given that it's a basic budget machine there probably isn't any extra cables lying around in the case you could cause any harm with.

I'd say good a way to avoid miswiring anything (not just computers) is to take a picture and maybe print it. You can see how it was if you're not sure anymore.

Of course, it doesn't work if it was wrong in the first place.

I wonder if it would be the right time for the devs to change currency over to euro. Have they predicted pound going this low, they would've done that few months ago and had "a discount" and kept S2 in let's say 30 euros. It's reasonable to expect pound go even lower than euro at some point.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :It's pretty easy. Most mobos have universal connections and things. Hardest part is just wiring the PSU back up correctly, just pay attention to where you take the cables off - Most mobos have them in (roughly) the same place.

What? Why should he be taking the connector apart and rewire it?

Oh, you got me bad Sherlock.

Yes, it's an iconic design piece from a very famous designer so it's worth some money, of course it depends on the condition, but it's still valuable.

And you could've find a hint of it's value in two seconds with wikipedia.

Buuuuutz, go back cleaning your house!

Kidding...not. Well yes, aside from the reverse gear on the shifter G25 is good quality. I would rate the pedals very high, well, they just feel they will last, unlike the plastic stuff you get with Momo Racing or other Logitech wheels.

So, I wouldn't really be that excited with FF pedals if they didn't provide anything but ABS information, which I will not have any use anyway.

Did try the demo, was not fun and did not like it. Mainly because it didn't feel like a truck.

I would like to see a racing truck in LFS though. Massive turbocharged diesel engines with thick black smoke coming from the exhaust. That would be awesome. :yummy:

Quote from white92talontsi :if your getting feedback in your brake pedal then a few things may be wrong.
1- your brake rotors are warped
2-your rear drums are warped
3-you have worn out tie-rod ends.
4 you have sticking calipers or pads wearing uneven.

5 - ABS kicked in, which is also very very wrong.

Quote from thisnameistaken :It's been a while since I beat you at anything. It feels good.

Enjoy while it lasts.

Anyway, did 3 laps on your set (esc -> test drive btw) and fastest was 1:37.17. After that I did 3 laps on default race_s as control and the fastest lap was 1:35.70. Major problem with the set you were using is the very hard brakes, personally I prefer less braking force so you can use the full travel of the brake pedal to control any possible locking. So, I'd advise you to change to the race_s, especially if you are using the default hard track setup which is, well, crap.

I think you need to brake harder, and either be on the brake or the throttle. You seem to be coasting before the corners and that is just waste of time, and that also means that you braked too early or slowed too much, in this case not enough sometimes.

I guess the old slow in - fast out is a good advise. Try to figure out how fast you can accelerate from the corners and hit the apex and then find out how late can you brake down to that speed maintaining a good line.

Now to test drive your set and see how is it.

edit. Well, Kev was on it earlier and more detail.
