I try understand but I really can't. I'm sorry.

Can you just skip my emo burp and concentrate on what I said.

And I guess I should have had more smileys in me previous post, you started the tower talk in the first place.

kthxb was pure a pure joke, I don't talk like that. Guess it didn't work.

Having unequal speeds on straights and corners would be against the whole idea of UF Baby-R because it would definitely break up the field.

Same cars for everyone = better racing

Quote from JTbo :Well, we see that when next modding should be allowed thread pops up, then I and only I will have hysteric laugh locked in tower far away, as I was right even you thought that I'm just a witch

What I would like to make is inline-5 with 700hp, drivetrain in awd form, so how this differs from what you are saying there that would be good mod? People are just so 'spiky' when there is lot of emotions towards toy
Remember how I told people about how tdu will never get working patch and how that happened to be true, no need to believe old fart.

I really doubt any tweaking program has anything to do with the fact open modding of LFS is considered as a bad idea, especially in this stage it would be complete lunacy when LFS isn't even near complete. It's been discussed multiple times, and might be discussed again, but the conclusion has always been the same for online modding. It doesn't work because it doesn't cost a penny and anyone can have a go. Tweaks have not been a reason for anti-mod opinions. LFS is wip, it's better not touch it when it's not done.

Could you just shut up with this madness which hardly makes sense or has a point and go back to your Volvo tower and let people have fun if they like.

kthxbb

Quote from JTbo :I doubt that they will be ignored, it clearly shows how uncontrolled modding will never do.

In editor engine should have physical size and limit of space it sits in, conrods and pistons should have strength and everything else too, also real world physical limitations should be taken account, then we would have editor that allows only realistic mods to be made and everything is nice and happy.

So what if someone is having 12 seconds of silly fun with their unrealistic space orbiting rocket cars? It's completely waste of time to make limitations to the software, that time is better used to make it have more variables and features.

I would rather get my hands on the program that I can make FZ5 to a front or mid engined V12 Ferrari, or make a LX8 than have some stupid limitations. When LFS simulates engines in a better way the ridiculous forces will do their job themself.

Quote from JTbo :Unrealistic tweaks become popular -> opinions against modding increases -> no better tweak program is released -> no modding possibility after S3, actions have consequences and some may have consequences that show up later in time.

No, kids with their 2,3 billion hp mods will be ignored, Benbob the mod will release his ultimate tweak, serious people have serious fun and all is well.

Not saying this isn't very nice, it just needs to get some more values.

Now I'm confused too. What are you trying to say?

3-days:

750*(3/7)/5 = 64,29 per person

7-day stayers:

[750*(4/7)/3]+[750*(3/7)/5]= 207,14 per person

I hope it looks overly complicated, but in short, I got the same results than Tristan. :P

Australia is HUGE, so it depends where are you heading to. There should be enough fuel and range to the west coast in theory, but something like Perth BBO mentioned, falls short with about 500 km. I got no idea if that's the only place to land there though. I think you have to land somewhere if you want to the east coast.

But, if they say they do it, I guess have to.

Oh btw, what are you going to Australia for, if I may ask?

Some feedback.

The engine size doesn't work as it should I think. It doesn't actually change the engine size for what you ask. And In the XRG for example, you can only have sizes between 1000-1500cc.

Cylinder amount would also be good to have. And all the tire parameters, and well, all the stuff what was in the old tweaks actually. :P

The program actually seems to works on all cars, but it uses either the default or your previous values which make the cars ridiculous anyway, but it does. I managed to get it confused while trying what cars it could do, and it didn't recognize I changed back to a car it supported.

Quote from welshys90 :either im dumb or im blind but i cant actually see Le Man Car in that list

Well those cars would probably fall in the prototype category. It's been suggested countless times, I'd love something like them too. But more important for 24h races would be changing lightning, night and improved damage and mechanical stuff.

Endurance racing is really marginal in LFS, and that's why the focus on development isn't really on it. We eventually might have all the things and bits that would make near as challenging as it should be and would make endurance races even more high profile events because the challenge would be much much tougher.

I'd reply but I'm not up for writing two pages of text on how you start arguing for one thing and then start talking about smth completely different, your following argumentation is based on assumptions, no proof and some facts that do not fit in at all... but you make some very loose assumptions in order to tie those things in and make them "proof"... Don't become a lawyer when you grow up. Oh and, look up nazism in a dictionary.

I'm off...

Well, for the record, I've not seen you posting any proof to prove him wrong either and that makes you wrong as him.

You might think you've left as a winner, but you haven't. You just enjoy calling people nazis, and generally just using nasty words at them. Have no idea how you've got away with all that censored words and rude behavior (talking about double standards?) lately. Maybe they still think you are 13 like it used to say in your profile.

Quote from deggis :All melted again. Looks like it's going to be first no snow new year that I've seen. :sadbanana

What, you are not going to drink yourself unconscious?

This warm weather is ridiculous though. We had +4 or 5 yesterday, in December! It should be like -10! I hope it gets colder as promised for the new year. Some snow wouldn't hurt either.

Quote from JTbo :10 years ago, it was -30C at this time of year and pretty lot of snow, global warming is not this quick, something else

Yes, they say this happens few times in a century. It's a temporary odd in weather, like having -30 sometimes, not climate change.

Haven't used after the Y test patches. Didn't really bother using clutch in X, but now it feels better and more fun.

Quote from PLAYLIFE :So let me get this straight, you spend this whole time arguing here because you prefer the cockpit view. However, since you think others gain an advantage over you due to useing other views you want this view banned from the whole game so that you can enjoy your prefered view without losing out on any competitiveness. And this competitiveness is not even quantified. We've seen a couple of screen shots and we can all imagine certain benefits. And you really think these benefits are so huge that you feel it is necessary to demand for a change that will affect 25% of 30 000 people (= 7 500 people btw).

So basically it boils down to you lobbying to ruin the experience of 7500 people because they have an unquantified benefit over you. That's pretty egotistic.

I'm all for realism, but if you take the fun out of it then you are downgrading the experience in my opinion.

No, I just tried to note that saying cockpit view is equally unrealistic than chase isn't right.

I don't care what view people use, however I can't stand it's defended and claimed as realistic as the cockpit view. I mean come on, simulator? Never have heard anyone ever play GTR from chase view, never.

It's the same thing with controllers, mouse and keyboard drivers complaining their controllers aren't supported well enough anymore because they have lift while shifting. They are not a method of controlling an automobile in the same way you don't fly behind your car while driving. I do not understand how this concept of more realistic view can be that hard to understand.

And where the hell is the hardcore people when you need some support? Come on..the volvo man already turned his coat..bloody swedes.

edit.
Quote from PLAYLIFE :We all know what is more realistic and what is less realistic, but that's not the point here. You are selfishly demanding to downgrade the experience of 7500 (25%*30000) people because they have an unquantifiable advantage over you. Let's be honest, the advantage is not that big. And make no mistake about it, you are pushing your view on the minority... Demanding a change that will drastically affect how thousands of players experience LFS so that your gaming experience could improve by 0,2%. I can understand you views and I can sympathise with them but seeing your jealousy and egoism on display here, you mocking people with your silly comparisons of some pigeons and black windows makes me want to say to you a big F*CK YOU!

Smooth edit, I would've stick by with the first version. It was much more nicer. I even bothered to quote it.

I'm off this thread now.

Quote from eRaptor :Please....

I say it all again:
Cover all the windows of your car, then put a camera in front of the windshield, put a 17" or 19" monitor above your wheel, and connect the camera to the monitor. Drive 5 Km, in any road or track.
Now tell me is realistic (you probably will, just make your idea prevail)

Ok, after you've done that you can compare with a second experiment. Train two pigeons to carry video camera behind your car, paint all your windows black and drive it with a monitor in front of you.

Which one seems more realistic?

Quote from zeugnimod :It was dsrc.

What has this thread come to? An "arcade" racer tells a "hardcore" racer on which server he could drive in hardcore mode.

Well, I would remember the servers I couldn't drive on and was kicked out too. But thanks anyway, dsrc was one possible candidate but I wasn't sure.

Quote from Glenn67 :Yes but I also want an server option for forced wheel/clutch/shifter users now too for the similar reasons

Quote from JTbo :Well that we would like, do we? At least I do, when it is so that only clutch that is axis will do, button clutches would not be allowed

There was a hardcore server after patch X release I think. It used a insim program to kick everyone without proper control methods, wasn't a great success though. But maybe LFS and the community wasn't ready for it yet, the clutch simulation wasn't that good back then.

Can't remember what team ran it though, it was "something hardcore", and the tag was red.

Quote from Trekkerfahrer :i am eye handicapped.... i need a custom view.... othoerwise i cannot see distances correctly

But do you need to have it behind your car? The forced cockpit view now allows your view moved around the cockpit quite a lot.
