It's my dads mates, its been here for nearly a year, the engine is f*cked and i don't think he can be arsed to put more money into it to fix it atm Was in the garage at first but my dad got fed up of not being able to put anything in there cause its so wide it takes up 1.5 spaces so it got chucked out 6 months ago.

Balls - new I should of got a pic.
Where the Toyota cap is there is a sticky-out bit in the middle of the brakes. I think that doesn't really fit of that it's too big to go through the whole in the middle.
My Dad reckons he can fix it somehow but not just yet...

just drill the f****** thing theyre cheap wheels so just bodge it and use them till the next mot.
The duratec V6 is the same as what i got in my mondy. I got a ST220 3.0 version in mine, which is a very strong engine. The only thing that you need to keep an eye on is the oil level (if you let them get below 1/2 full, it starts to wear out the top end) and make sure the chain is tightened when neccesary. If that noble is the 2.5 version, then its probably the water pump which has gone, as they had plastic blades, which shatter. Either that or it was a turbo failure, which sent bits of turbo through the cylinder heads and into the pistons.
Either way, they certainly dont break alot. Your just saying that because you hate fords though eh?
you mean the wheel hub? just go in a car store and u should find like an adapter. people do that in america here,and then they wonder why they lost their wheel on i-287. coz the wheel only sits on the lug bolts!
Well the car is a write off, it was flooded thats why the engine won't run, not sure if its the wiring or the engine itself, either way he doesn't really seem arsed about fixing it

No there not. Your thinking of the Probe 24v engine. That is a mazda designed engine.
The 2.5 V6 that started in the mondeo (which then got put into the ST220, which is a 3.0 putting out 220hp as standard) actually started as a porsche design back at the start of the 1990's, as they fancied using something different than a flat-6. They then abandoned this idea, and sold the plans to ford. Ford took the design and gave it to cosworth, who finished off the engine and made it complete. This engine was then stuck in the mondeos, back in the early 90's after its realese. This same V6 was used up until the previous mondeo, which it was then replaced by the Volvo 5-pot.

As for the 2.0 that are seen in pretty much all the range, but badged as "Duratecs" are just the same Zetecs from back in the 90's. They've just been fettled with the be more efficient, and in some cases, a little more powerful.
To my knowledge, the only engines that were mazda units, but in fords, was the probes V6 as mentioned before (underneath, its just a Mazda "G" platform.) and a couple of 4 cylinders back in the 90's.
Alot of the "Black Top" zetecs from the 90's and early 00's were Mazda units come to think of it. The "Silver Top" zetecs which are very rare now, and pure ford blocks. There popular for alot of race series (used in the Ginetta G4's i think?) as they are powerful for such a small capacity engine, and they have a very high rev range, aswell as being bulletproof.

The first duratec in the st focus's was a zetec that was tweaked, but the newer ones in the new focus/mondeo etc is the mazda engine I believe. (hence why a lot of the old skool ford guys put it with the new mx-5 6 speed box to convert to rwd

What one are you talking about? If your talking about the Mk1 Focus ST170, then yes, this as badged as a Duratec, but its just a Zetec underneath and a Ford block. It is tweaked to push out the extra HP to bring it upto 170. Its a 2.0 Four cylinder engine. The MK1 Focus RS used the same Duratec engine, but turbocharged so that it pushed out 212hp.
As for the "newer" focus, the ST225 use's a Turbocharged 5-Cylinder Volvo engine, as does the Mondeo 2.5 Turbo and the newer Focus RS.
As for the Old school boys fitting a Mazda gearbox, then yes, your right. The Black top zetecs were essentially a Mazda engine, exept the internals were changed for higher performance and efficiency.

His proton started on 145s (or there about) so it would be better.
I believe they are late Toyota MR2 wheels though, so it may be the right tyre size for them.

Granted, there very similiar, but the celica's has more grooves and dips towards the edges of the spokes, not to mention the Celica's ones are 5 Stud, and not 4. :nerd:
