"Anyone tried the F458 yet?"

Yep - yesterday. It's a cool-car to drive

But if you try F-150 after F458 - you see what a beast F1-car really is .

Quote from hyntty :There is a thread in techical assistance entitled "Broadcasting LFS" btw...

You say you have IPTV infrastructures with epic realtime encoders ready. Then all you need is a computer to run lfs. I'm sure your equipment can handle some output the computer has (DVI, VGA, HDMI even, composite, s-video...) If you have everything else set up it'll cost the amount of the computer that is running the game for you.

LFS itself only has an option to hide all HUD. There are a few 3rd party programs that ase specifically designed for 'broadcasting' purposes, like TV Director or the more seldom used Race Spectator . Tv Director is better because it has a GUI that allows you to control the cameras manually and it also has race classification graphics. I've also made a Broadcast overlay addon that gives you a more broadcastational feel to your broadcast.

Great and thx for info.!

Live streaming LFS races on IPTV channel

Can someone please answer me, what would have to be done to:

- Live-Stream LFS races on IPTV Channel (24/7)

I'm working for an ISP (150.000 IPTV users) -> IPTV.

1) How much would it cost to set-up everything for LFS streaming ? (we have our own fast-realtime-encoders, huge bandwidth, etc. So no problems with network/IPTV-infrastructure)

2) Would all this (does LFS server support video-out of current race, etc.) be even possible with LFS (automatic-dynamic camera, etc.) ?

Thx for info.

Quote from aoun :Slow and steady, wins the race!
But over here in this world, LFS abuses and takes as much time needed to make something amazing, and never failing, i could say because of its progress speed, LFS really is a much better simulation then any other, from 3 developers.

..and we arnt even in beta stages, for the second phase.

Big congratulations to the Developers, Scawen, Eric, Victor!

Cheers to that ! +1

Quote from Concept-X :There was a competition between the best simracers in our country under the title: LFS vs. rFactor. The best 10 rFactor players from rFactor championship and the best 10 LFS players from LFS championship took part in it. There were 2 rounds, first was in Lfs and the the second was in rFactor 3 weeks later. 2×25-30 laps in either round (don't remember exactly ), in reverse order on the 2nd race. And the result is, that LFS'ers has won both of them. This must show something...

Ouch

Quote from GabbO :Man, YOU have to know how long the nose of your car is...
What do you do if you have to park in between two cars? Do you get out to get a "Side View" of the car? No, you know(feel) where your car ends. At least i do.

Considering only LFS - I personally never mind waiting for the update to come. What i really miss is some detailed (and more technical) progress-updates, becouse it would be really interesting to know, what is going on, what part of "new code" makes problems, etc. . Anyways, good luck with coding to LFS-devs .

Quote from KurtG85 :Thanks for the replies Scawen and Bullit. I am able to turn on hardware vertex shading or whatever its called in the game; as in its not greyed out or anything. Does turning the vertex shading on increase FPS?
Also, Bullit, I would love to try out the suggestion you posted but I have no idea where im supposed to paste that 'code'.
By the way I know nothing about computers but to try and give you as much info as possible: im on a presario 2100 (laptop), Radeon IGP 320m, 448mb of RAM, mobile AMD athlon XP2400+.

CPU OK, graphics card and amount of memory not...Sorry mate

Quote from RIP2004 :(can a mod change the title in the forum itself? Longitudinal instead of Lateral)
A car with locked wheels should use a significantly longer way to stop, than a car which brakes with spinning wheels. (at least on tarmac. In snow and in sand its a different matter ...)

Little off-topic:
Strange as it seems, but for example, on dry-tarmac car stops earlier when wheels are totaly locked compared to ABS braking...maybe due to unefficient ABS system...No-ABS situation: physics say spinning friction is higher than sliding friction, so braking with "spinning wheels" should be better (no shit )...

Quote from Dan Hot :its my understanding that in order to make the server licensed you change the following line in the setup.cfg file in the dedi server folder.

//demo/s1/s2
/mode=s2

i hope thats the right answer

Thx I said to myself "no shit Sherlock" when i saw that

Sorry for not writing to apropriate topic...
All i want to ask is (couse i didn't find it anywhere (FAQ,readme, etc)) how can i "make" a dedicated server "licensed" instead of "demo" ? Is it enough my S2 license or ?

Thx for help,
