the ecu on some new cars gives you a signal that you are getting close to the bottom of the tank by making the engine have "a miss" ie skip a cylinder in the firing order just one time - enough for you to notice. i think that could be cool would let you know you only have a kilometer left or so, and if you just went pass the pits, better go damn easy or shut her off and roll
here's an XRT setup i got from a keyboarder when i went back to demo for a run yesterday
personally i steer with a mouse but still use kb for throttle and brake, so indeed i know the "tap like a madman" on some of the corners. also tyre pressures are very important. my button control rate is around 4.8 i believe. must be working, i have 1 WR
yes as a mouse racer this is true, it can still grab a 1pixel boarder around the window, hence resizing.
this will always be the case i think, so in the end if you want to race with a mouse, race full screen... and flick between full screen to window using shift F4, if you ever feel the need to go back to a window to do something else.
guys i have a question about some of the alpha dds files (that use transparency)
for example some of the tree ones, i changed the tree yet left the background colour the original one, in a hope it would remain transparent, however i ended up with trees with big black square outlines
am i saving them wrongly or missing something completely?
yes but still a lot of work to go. and its so dark its almost impossible to drive (even on courses i know like the back of my hand, went hopeless).. in the end its probably only good for screenshots
actually, i've already done it for ALL cars. since they are for my website, some skins have a url across the rear end.
anyway, download them from www.fujiwaratofu.co.nr and here's a preview of all
i would like the background to be white, and the "ground" the car is sitting on white also.. so totally white but so you can see the shadow still being cast on the ground. black rims
it would be good if the wheels could be turned like in the pic, but if thats too hard it's ok left straight.
someone upto the job? if you also want to do a few other renders from other angles (perhaps replace the background with all black for these extra renders) you think are cool feel free, im sure i can find uses for them.
every single thread in this forum seems to now contain people going overboard talking about cracking. please, report it to a admin or something, hitting up the person in the thread achieves nothing except ruining the forums .
here are two from me, a dark varient firstly which is closer to night, and then a brighter one to show you its actually in LFS no real manipulation of the image apart from playing with brightness levels
i am not sure if you are serious here but i cant remember my last crash. its most likely i've found if a program hangs on xp it's just that single program (which you can then end the process) and everything is ok again. if you build a machine right, and with anything look after it (most probs on windows relate to virii and spyware screwing things - which results in instability and a reinstall). i have no virus scanner - and haven't had one for 2 years now. if you're cluey enough you don't need one. a spyware check every 6 months turns up nothing. perhaps its because i use opera and firefox.
honestly i could run the system all day like in the screenshot if i wanted to, seemed pretty smooth surprisingly enough. as for uptimes i don't know, i have no need to leave my pc on overnight
is my pc just lucky? i don't think so. windows is not perfect (nor would i claim it to be) but im getting the impression you haven't used windows for a considerable amount of time, or simply had a bad run with it. since win 2000 i reckon it's turned into a pretty decent operating system.
you'd hardly be able to call linux flawless either, as nothing made by humans can ever be.
yeah tweak i had to turn haze off all together. the ideal would be if you could make the haze black (instead of the white/grey it is) or even decrease the distance it began to appear
