Quote from Wilko868 :I'm sorry, but in my entire online and IRL career, I have never seen such an appauling attitude towards motorsport. If you're mad at someone, you'll just bat them off no questions asked? You have more money than sense my friend.

Just want to mix myself in to this a bit . Because i had this same discussion before on SR forums.

IRL you'll get pushed around alot. TBH if someone pushes me a little i push him a little back. Thats just normal in the sport. Otherwise you'll always be the one who get's pushed around.

Same in LFS, like on IHR server, someguy was holding me up alot and always slamming the door etc. Pushing a bit. Comming up to t1 i just let my car lean a little to his so i can pass. "REVENGE WRECKING" is what you get then. Thats just silly.

But this is another story then whats happening in ITCC. Some crazy shit going on there. A little pushing now and then is ok. But just being plain stupid is something else

haha,

Well tbh it wasnt me in the car at that point. It was a 24hour race so i shared the car with 2 other drivers. Making stints of 2 hours.

We had alot of problems during the race. Clutch and fuelpump problems. We also had 2 seperate fueltanks so i had to switch between pumps ( crazy story ).

My stints was finished and after an hour of sitting in the pitbox i almost fell asleep. When suddenly a loud bang came from the track. I ran into the pitlane and saw a crazy big fire ball.

It was my teammate. The car had lost al power ( also all the lights and stuff ) He drove of the ideal line but someone was overtaking another guy he smashed him in the rear of the car.

One of the biggest accidents ive ever seen.

Dunno what al the fuzz is about.

Okay there are enough of these posts but i understand pearcy.

We can't expect anything from the devs. But i bet they wont like it if only half of the current players buys S3 because the other half left to Iracing. And found out thats better anyway.

Quote from hyntty :Let's face it, you're trying to boost your ego a bit because you're jealous to Vale right?

Haha i'm crazy jealous. But im very honest about the fact he was just way better in the formule renault !

Nothing wrong with a little ego boost now and then

I've been racing valterri in 2007 & 2008.

Let me tell you a story.

Since the start of the season 2007 valterri was really fast, even with Korainenbros a finnish team. I had alot of fights with him in the beginning of the season but in the end he got better and better and i couldnt keep up anymore. I spoke with him alot of times on the paddock. He's a really nice guy! And tipical fin.

After that season, i got contacted by a guy who was the old manager of trulli. I met the guy and he told me he was only interested in two drivers. Me and Bottas. The problem was Bottas completly owned me and everybody else in season 2008 ( he went to drive for motopark ). So i guess there went my once in a lifetime shot to be somebody in motorsport. if only i did better in 2008 .

I spoke alot with the guys from motopark and every single one told me how amazing bottas was and how fcking fast etc. I always thought he was going to be a f1 driver and i always hoped that for him. He's just one of the special drivers around.

Congrats and see you around.

Quote from chanoman315 :Nice photos and good luck, did it hurt? (crashes)

Haha yeah some of the crashes did hurt actually. But i got lucky all the times. Once been in the hospital for a checkup ( neck etc ) but nothing special. Just a painfull neck and walking like robocop for two weeks.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Already read this at SR's forums, but nice write-up anyway! Keep it up

What are your plans for the future? Megane again in 2010?

I already signed my contract for TDS racing in the Mégane trophy again. In my opinion the best team in the league. First test will at nogaro mid march and then the official testing in end of march. Motorland aragon 2 days and valencia 2 days.

Hello all,

I already made this post at my teams website but thought it was fun to do it here aswell. I saw ducky made a post bout his racing and i don't think everybody is aware of what i do besides racing LFS so i thought "let's make one myself"

I started racing when i was 15. I took part in Bleekemolens racing school and when i was 16 i got my licence and did my first endurance races in a seat ibiza diesel.

And i did ALOT of drifting to train my car control. Even did some competition drifting later on.

After the endurance racing the team wanted me to take part in the biggest (small) dutch events. During al the major Dutch championships. I took part in the Seat Ibiza Cup
I was Vice champion in my first season. Well vice champion is just a nice word for being 2nd :P

Because i came in 2nd some people became interested and asked me to test Formula Ford. Everything went quite well and i signed with GEVA racing to race in the dutch formula ford.

Like i said the test went "quite" well

I won the championship and became dutch and benelux champion. I also took part in the world final at brands hatch. I won all the heats and the semi final but came in 4th in the final (behind people i already beat in the semi's)

In between all this i raced in several 24hour races ( barcelona 3 times, Dubai 1 time )

That was dubai btw :P

After the formula fords i drove the Formula Renault for two years in the NEC championship. The first season was quite good, i came in 6th. After that season i made the wromg team choice, i should have gone to another team to learn different things but i stayed with the same team ( budget issues ) and came in 8th.

It's a tough sport sometimes

This year i did my first year in the Megane trophy during the amazing World Series by Renault weekends. I got some good results in the races that i finished. But i only finished 5 out of 14 races . So the season was really bad. After the season i did some testing with another team and for next year all is looking great.

In between i did some guest races in the dutch gt4 in a ginetta G50. I inmediatly won and it was the first victory for that car. Think that was the best thing of 2009 for me. Because the Dutch Gt4 is quite high level for dutch standards.

Agree with bawbag.

Vale is a good example btw. He is test driver now for Williams.

Also i can learn a bit from LFS. For example being focusses for an hour during a MoE stint. Practicing that will also help you focus in real life. Practicing race lines will also help you finding those lines faster in real life.

Lfs doesnt come close really, because of tyre physics etc etc and the miss of Gforce. But you can deffo learn something from it and use that IRL

Last year was amazing already.

Yeah sure there are some cerbs you can take, but thats mostly without any braking on it Even in Spa i smash my car on the cerbstone before entering eau rouge just to make the corner wider and have a better exit. So you defenitly right about that.

But i just cant seem to find corner where i brake on a cerbstone

Quote from JPeace : any steering input will slow you down. you cant argue that, because its common known physics.

Contra steer is steering input aswell you know
NickC
S2 licensed
Jpeace, it depends on corner and car aswell. In a heavy weight car, you can't get it out of the oversteering moment as fast as in LFS, a slide will make you loose speed aswell and wear tyres and make them more shit in the next because of overheating.

and then again i know alot of tracks where you can brake on the outer cerbstone before entering but thats just not smart to do. You cant brake as hard as you want and since the initial braking is really important ( specially downforce cars ) you want to do that right! Also it will change the way the car reacts when you turnin from a cerb.

Talking bout cars, with bikes i have absolutely no experience. But, can imagine that a cerbstone (like rumble strip) isnt optimal for a bike aswell!
NickC
S2 licensed
Guys, dont try to fight the fact its not really optimal to maximum brake on a cerbstone :P That just impossible. And with cerbstone i mean cerbstone, not just some paint on the raid. And even with just paint its harder then normal.

Dont forget IRL you will lose some downforce aswell (mostly formula) if you oversteer to much. Force angles will change etc. Depends on weight alot aswell. I have the feeling in FZR and FXR this is unrealistic. There are some drivers who prefer understeer over oversteer. So probably its not just oversteer which is best.

I did formula and touring and GT IRL and to be honest LFS is close but doesnt come close to the real thing when it comes to F.e. setups. And mainly tyre physics

In fact i think if LFS is able to make a 100% realistic car and handling the times will be much faster in LFS then in real life. In LFS there is no risk, unlimited testing possibility's etc etc etc.

The one thing you miss aswell behind a pc is the feeling Ur just staring at a screen.

But in the end LFS is a game/sim and if you're a racer you try to go as fast as possible. If you say "i don't drive like that because it's unreal" Then that's just a lame excuse for being incapable :P

Thanks Joe,

I heard i was p1 so that means i will have 42kgs of ballast voor the qualify and 1st race at KY2R.

right?

Btw, have to give you guys a big thumbs up about how you are running this league!
NickC

Huh? I heared i have to qualli and race one with 35 kg ballast. ?

Is it going to be reset or? ( maybe i should just read the rules )
NickC

If you dont wanna read it, then dont read it. At least react normal to a question.
NickC

Indeed, and the brakes are not so damn unrealistic as on the XRR

Think i was already quite close to that one before in hotlap league. And i think rudy got it already

edit :P I was right about rudy but wrong about me, i was 3 tents of :P!
