I'm just wondering, what kind of stretching exercises you guys do before playing, if any?

People with wheels should stretch their legs and feet as well as their arms and wrists.
People with mouse should stretch their wrists as well.

I do some stretching exercises that i do on the gym (the ones i think are useful for the muscle groups LFS uses ) but lately i've been ending up with some aches (and i'm young :tilt after really long sessions so i've created this thread so people who know more about that than me can share their exercises too (preferably with pictures please).

What do you do?

Hello, i'm from Brazil and our national league will be running cars which interest me only from August onwards.

Now, i've got this 7 other months to drive elsewhere, heh.

I'm really into the FOX and the FO8.

Do you guys know any league which will be running any of these cars?
From now till month 8 of 2007.

(Maybe even the BF1.)

I really don't want to spend all my time on training alone and pub racing.
I'm not fast, i'm a pretty good mid-fielder tho.
And most important of all, i race pretty clean and fair.


So, do you know any leagues who runs any of these cars?
It's gotta be an "international league" (which allows pilots from other countries than it's own) or at least a league where a "test" or something is held prior to accepting a new racer.

Any suggestions, i'm all ears.

Being a little more specific (game, mods), i"ll go after the rest of it.

Yeah, that's exactly what happens to me almost every single race, be it a pubbie or a league one.

I'm faster than the very slowest guys on the grid (who probably lack sets or training or both) but can't touch the "quick" guys at all.

So yeah, i'm on that position a lot.
The people who are behind me can't reach me and i can't reach the podium (top 3) guys, that's the norm anyway.

I rarely finish on the top 3 positions. (And i finish a lot )

So.. what do i do?
Everytime i find someone who's kinda on the same "beat" as me i write down their login names (push CTRL+SHIFT on the connections' list) and later on add them as my buddies on LFS World.

And then, whenever i see one of them online i go after them (using LFS World Live Alert) and we can have some pretty good battles and all.

You don't need to win to have fun, at least i've got a lot of great moments on LFS and just a few wins.

It's a lot more about the close battles than winning, at least for me.
(Or maybe this could be a loser's excuse :tilt


ps: of course that some time after that those guys get faster than me and i end up alone again but i can always find me another midfielder mate... then i add his nickname... well, you get the idea! hehehe
ps2: heck, anyone who wishes to run against an "open wheeler midfielder", just add me. i'm pretty active.

I"ll be taking a look at GP4 + mods, looks like it's the best option for what i'm looing for (good AI + full season and full racing weekend's action), thanks guys.

Hello, i love LFS, the open wheelers mostly(sp?) and have a lot of fun in them.
And yeah i know and truly recognize that LFS is the most well simulated racing game on the market right now.

Having said that can you guys suggest me some PC F1 racing games?
The last one i came across was Grand Prix 3 (2001?) so there's probably better options for me as of 2007.

I want something with "good" AI, that's all.
Just want to cruise on the F1 tracks and have some weekend racing fun, you know?

And yeah i don't need (if you still have the urge, go ahead anyway hehe) to be told that LFS has got the best F1 physics (heck, i dunno if theres even any other "game" who isn't "racing on rails" at all) and that there are a lot of leagues running them and all that jazz.

It could either be a F1 game (EA games? GP4?) or a good mod for another "simulator".

And to repeat myself once again, i know that it will be a lot different to LFS (to which im pretty used right now, even being slow as i am) and a "game" and all that. Ok? hehe

I just would like to test some F1 games and see if i can have fun with them, that's all. I'm just trying not to piss off the people who play LFS only and apparently really "hate" or something people who doesn't, heh.

I've changed it today and went for a spin.
Turns out that now i'm regularly shaving off .1-.3 of my laps.
I didn't made any PBs yet but my "ordinary" lap is now from .1 to .3 faster on average. Consistently faster.

What about LFS wheel compensation?

I've got a black momo and don't have a complain about it, but if it can be configured better, i'm all for it!!

I use it like this:

logitech profiler -
100% overall

100% "first one"*

100% "second one"*

centering spring turned on (i guess it's a "check box" , right?)

pedals axis separated, of course...


In game i use 100% FFB and 0.30 Wheel Compensation

So... what should i do to make it better?
101% overall (or does it work only with DFP?)

cut to zero all the others "effects" on the logitech driver?
uncheck the "centering" box?

1.0 wheel compensation would be better? i'm using it at a value which was suggested to me by a friend but i do not know what it does mean etc

Any help would be really appreciated.

Well, one of the things that i'm think is pretty lame (my opinion, i may not be entitled, it seems, to have one on the CLC servers but i'm entitled for that here on this forum) is the "English only" requirement.

I found some friends on the server and went to talk with them (i was explaining the lotto system and then guidin' them to ther other pit to collect their money).

We're from Brazil. We speak portuguese.

1min after that the server got spammed by
"WTF WTF SPEAK ENGLISH PLEASE"
"WTF WTF SPEAK ENGLISH PLEASE"
"WTF WTF SPEAK ENGLISH PLEASE"

Then followed by a warning from the owner of being kicked if i continued to speak in another language that wasn't english.

I asked why and got the answer that "since it doesn't make any sense it's flood, so stop flooding or you"ll get kicked". Alright.
He said that "we try to keep chattin' here to a minimum" too. Alright.

I left shortly after that. (not kicked)

Then i came back to the server some time after that and my friend was there still.

I proceed to talk to him and ask him what he was up to, and not two phrases after our conversation started we got again warned:

"ENGLISH ONLY!"
"ENGLISH ONLY!"
"ENGLISH ONLY!"

"I told you already! I"ll kick you!"

Some of the other players we're also curious about why the threat of kicking someone for just conversation and they said that someone might be "talking on the back" on another language of the mods or something so then that's why we need to stop it or get kicked. Alright.

Three reasons.
Let's get on to them:


1) Flood - Making sense

Well you see, that "making sense" bit is a lil tricky and honestly, not really "honest".

Why? Well, you can't "make sense" of most of the talk either, since you didn't start at the beggining of it or some other unknow (yet in "english") "terms" are used. "Smileys" and other "graphical" resources too.
But it's allowed, clearly (and i don't think it's a bad thing, at all), the chat.

So, what's up with that?


2) Trying to keep chattin' to a minimum

I don't see that, seriously.
Chattin' is clearly totally supported and make up for most of the fun there too. And i think it's a great thing. Or else you might be driving with bots too.

If you guys are trying to keep the "chat" (messages) to a minimum, well, that's too bad too.
From time to time you see a serious flood of "commands" (!cash, !prices, etc), a lot of them. That "flood" a lot the server. A lot more than two guys chattin up a little.


3) Talkin' on the back of the mods

Well, do you guys really care that much?
I mean, we're just chillin there and having a good time, talking when needed ("hey, wanna drive in the other way way?" etc).

If someone is talking bad of you in your server you sure are entitled to kick/ban him but you honestly think that's why people are speaking in "unknow" languages? Really?
They might as well thrash you on TS, MSN or something.

Sounds pretty silly to me, but hey, that's your server.



What i would like to know is that if you guys can't "relax" a little on that issue?

We're just having a good time, chilling, relaxing, and sometimes we need to communicate, right? LFS is a pretty "international" game and i take pride on that, do you guys want your server to be just an "english language only" server? Why?
Are we really ruining anyone's fun? Really?
I mean, the server isn't our so you guys can kick whoever you want but i thought that CLC was mainly for relaxing, having a good time driving, isn't it? That's why i got really confused.

And about the TS thingie (they said "go to TS if you don't want to speak in english"), not eveyone has a mic, not everyone can "make noise" at any time, not everyone really wants to "talk" while relaxing there (i'm one of them, i don't drive with music when racing but on CLC i turn on winamp and listen to some tunes, pretend its on my in game car's radio).

Are we really spoilin' anyone's fun?
Or being bad players because os that?

If we're being a nuisance, we won't log in anymore.
Not trying to ruin anyone's fun.

While in game you can always use these commands:

*Type T to bring in the chat/command thingie*

/w laps (will display your laps on that combo)
/w distance (will display all your travelled distance on your online license)

And you can always use that to see others' people stats too.
For exemple.

/w Davo laps (will show you how many laps he did on this combo)
/w Davo distance (will show all his travelled distance)

and so on...
