Quote from el pibe :off topic :Im a teenager, and im proud of it .... coz im still young u sukaz !!!

on topic : i find it ricer( ish ) to have the choice of alloys.... it only improves the looks.... in a racing sim u wont to go faster not to POSE ! coz that would be a posing simulator ....

In a way I agree with you but look at alot of race series, aussie V8's spring to mind, ford and holden use different wheels. I think different wheels for the race cars only would be good idea but then I also think that it should be added in the final polishing of lfs.

Edit: my memory failed me, apparently theres 3 types of wheels.

I tend to flat shift from start line to T1, its only a minor advantage to flat shift but ever little counts. After that I usually shift properly and have no trouble with the clutch. Though from what I remember from driving the XRR a long time ago its nigh on impossible to get the clutch hot without doing stupid things.

People talk about LH cockiness alot. Personally I think he has supreme confidence in himself and in McLaren. Whether he would do so well in a car further down the grid is only speculation, everyone reacts differently so it is an unknown.

While I personally think LH does come across badly in interviews due to the corporate bull and 'cockiness' I do wonder whether he is like that really. You see him before the race he shakes all the mechanics hands; is that PR again or LH natural personality. There are other exampls of this though but it is open to opinion.

Last year for me was when LH confirmed himself a good (note: good not great) driver in challenging a former WDC Alonso in the same machinery and a second (WDC material) Raikkonen in a different but equally fast car and almost winning the championship. Now say all you like about 'he got the best machinery, he got paid into the events' etc how many drivers could really do that? While I think the calling LH great and the comparisons to Schu and Senna are wrong. To have that you have to prove yourself which LH hasn't done. He hasn't won a WDC (yet) and still makes some fundamental mistakes. Though I can see some comparisons when peole are comparing driving styles and personality and not simply 'he's great'.

While LH has every chance of becoming the great driver he looks to become it could all go wrong for him. Personally speaking I want LH to win the WDC for 3 reasons: Hes British, He drives a Mclaren and lastly it means he would beat a Ferrari. That does not make me a fanboy anything though, LH has made too many mistakes and I don't think he deserves to win the WDC this season, Kubica does. Kubica can't win the championship though so by default it was going to be one of the GB drivers, of which LH is one of them.

Should of allowed people to pick 2 out of the poll.

As for who I would choose - Hamilton and Kubica. Easy choice. Hamilton is quick from day 1, sometimes seems to push things a bit too far but could put up with that for the advantages of his skills. Kubica is imo not quite as quick as Hamilton but he is Mr Consistant and within a decent team (i.e. quick car that is actually developed through the season) then he would be take the WDC (unless Hamilton beat him lol)

Quote from S14 DRIFT :40 KMPH is like what? 18-25mph? Something like that, some small villages have temp 20mph limits before and after School time when an insitute for learning is located in the vicinity.

Calculation is roughly 5mph = 8kmph so 40kmph is about 25 mph. Well usually 30mph for built up areas so not really that much slower.

1. You just bought a very very good game
2. Your social life will disapear
3. You need a comfortable chair, nothing worse than a numb bum
4. How to heel and toe (you might already know)

On a more serious note - Drive fair and clean and you should have no problems As for wheel set up its a completely personal thing, some like high wheel rotation others small. Same with ffb etc.

Im not voting because for me personally it changes. I use 720 sometimes on the road cars, if im feeling lazy ill turn it down to 360. gtrs i use 270, I used to use it on my dfp and never re learnt it at 540 so I stick with 270. All SS I use 200.

So it would be BCBC

You all need to spread the word in the U.S.A and Canada etc to get more people playing. Strange to wonder why that LFS is more popular in europe that other continents.

As said modern technology of brakes etc I would of thought wouldn't cause too much of a problem. Whether they take out refuelling while making all the action happen on track the fast cars/drivers will still be fast so I don't see too much of a change in the running order.

As for qualifying though - I quite like the system now with them using race fuel (which obviously wouldn't be available with no pit stops) but now the 'group' of cars that they are racing they have to offset their fuel against them to either be light, quick but pit earlier or heavy and pit later. Mixes it up a bit

Quote from tinvek :could you imagine the outcome if these stewards officiated at the BTC ? the race would never finish as the drivers would be serving penalties evey lap

lol, in a weird macabre way I would like to see that.

Quote from marsaz :FM and LH incident. Massa went wide and Lewis could take the inside line in to the first turn but LH didn't leave any space for FM in the second corner and he was outside. If FM didn't go through the grass he'd hit LH much earlier. In fact you could say LH would hit FM much earlier because FM still was alongside and he was at the edge of the track so only way to avoid contact was to stop but nobody does that when they are racing do they? I'd say a racing incident when nobody wants to give up.

I have not watched the on board camera's as I am at work, but from what it looked like on the normal tv cameras was that FM ran wide, LH went up the inside on the normal line. He then was far enough in front to take the normal racing line through the next corner and managed to clip the apex before massa spun him out. Now this may be wrong and i reserve judgement until I see the onboards but from the tv cameras it looked like a brash move (im still holding onto a little hope that massa wasn't delibrately trying to take Hamilton out.)

Quote from Gizz :i really hope lewis gives massa a real hard time in the next race, just to see what the fia will do in the finnal race to give massa the win...

Lol, I wish I didn't agree with you but unfortunately I do. Though the FIA might not have to do anything, I was reading in the paper today that Alonso has said he will help massa to win the WDC and happily take points of LH. Alonso also made a comment about whether LH was right or wrong he got punished which was good (not exact quote as I havn't got the paper on me anymore but its about right)

I will watch the last 2 races of the season. My belief in the fairness in f1 though crushed, I still have some hope that the last two races will be fair and good races. Though I doubt it.

Read the last few pages of this thread but without specifically replying to anyone.

Hamilton penalty for T1 - Personal I feel he did do something wrong and he did push kimi wide. Whether is deserves a penalty is marginal at most and as no precedent in the FIA giving penalties before: why now? No reason I can think of so yet again FIA being inconsistent in decissions.

Massa against Hamilton: While I don't think he was trying to delibratly hit Hamilton, he shouldn't of taken the line he did across the kerb and across the grass. He had lost the place to Hamilton, though quite why Hamilton overtook Massa when he was (possibly) pitting for new tyres.

Massa against Bourdais: Totally Massa's fault. Bourdais exited the pits on the inside, kept to the inside and Massa turned in on him. If Bourdais had of run wide into Massa the penalty would be more fair but from all the angles I have seen, Bourdais kept his line. Penalty surely to Massa?

Overall though, very scruffy race by the possible champions. Massa or Hamilton have both had some excellent races and yet some utter crap ones too. Kubica, given a quicker car, I think would of had this world title sown up already, he hasnt simply down to lack of speed and development on the bmw.

I have nothing to really add to this but to say, distance/depth perception is easier with 2 eyes but not impossible with one eye. I know this to be true because I have near pefect eyesight in my right eye but really bad eye sight in my left eye (For this size text to be in focus I would have to sit a couple of inches from my monitor). So I have come to rely on my better sighted right eye and I have no problem with depth perception. For driving I wear glasses as it would be silly to risk but for everything else, such as ball sports, I can get away with not wearing glasses. My only problem comes when, for example, someone throws a tennis ball to me from my left and it is out of my field of view of my right eye then I usually will not be able to catch it as I simply don't see it until it too close for me to react to catch it.

Quote from 5haz :you don't see stuff like Hakkinen breaking down and crying at Monza back in 99 (or was it 2000?)

Slight side note here, I agree you don't see it with the top drivers but Sutil after Monaco is the most recent time where a driver has been crying/upset.

As for Lewis - Im 50/50 on him, sometimes he seems smug other times it seems to be more self belief. I don't know him personally so can't comment but one thing everyone has to admit on here (jokes aside) he can drive a racing car better than us.

Also did anyone see the Honda test driver talking about the steering wheel at a pit stop in todays race build up? It is no defence for Hamilton but makes it easier to see why he crashed in the pitlane when there is so much fidly buttons stuff to do.

Also Murray Walker back would be excellent. He was a 'shouty' commentator but he has passion and love for F1 and made every race exciting. Also how can anyone forget his murrayisms
