Last race featured the slowest default LFS car,4 weeks later we raised the speeds by quite a lot by losing weight and adding power - the ideologic sibling of Catherham was featured in latest RTFR XL race. LX4 however is the slower of the 2 LX cars as it has "just" 140 horsepower, but with dry weight just a kilogram under half ton it's still in the quicker half of LFS street legal cars, especially in twisty circuits like the one we run this week. Standard Fern Bay Black in reversed direction was the venue for previous LX4 race in RTFR XL,this time we run pretty much same track but differently mixxed, which resulted in longer back straight and very tricky first turns section. With just 20 drivers qualifying, this was already under all time average attendance numbers, but competition for most positions was still very alive.
The 2-time RTFR XL race winner A.Valta was the first one and during qualifying also the only one to break the 2 minutes and 44 seconds laptime mark, with this the finn scored his 2nd pole position. During the race he led every single meter until diving into pitlane just before completing half distance, but returned to race lead undisturbed and despite seeing a competitor in distance slowly growing in his mirror, never really had doubts about race winner - 3rd RTFR XL race win goes into normal RTFR 2024 S2 champion's account, scoring him also 5th top5 finish out of 5 starts. 2 other drivers also were able to beat the 2:44 laptime mark during the race, one of them retired due rolling car, other one finished 2nd within distance of visibility, however was demoted further in time due penalty - the winner of previous race and selector of this combo Trespasser tried hard but had to settle for 2nd place finish which is his 3rd different podium finish in latest 3 races, but at least he added his 1st ever fastest lap to his stats and also 3rd top5 finish. The 2 time RTFR standings winner R.Kardol was nowhere near the chances for race win,but still was good enough to take 3rd place finish home to score the record extending 55th top5 finish. The debutant Samet made a bid for podium finish this tuesday, however the penalty for shorter pitstop demoted him from originally taken 3rd place finish to 4th position in results. Top5 was closed by Thehemuli, who scored his 8th top5 finish - this resulted in top6 finishing in exactly same order as they started without taking 2nd place starter into account as he retired.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Since introduction of car mods in LFS,RTFR XL never had more than 3 races with standard cars in row - this record was broken this week as the eligible drivers (and also voting) opted for 4 LFS default cars in row, this streak however end now as a mod has been selected for next race.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Despite needing just about 24 kilograms of fuel for whole race distace, majority still opted for fuel refill in pits and just 3 drivers went for work free pitstop, one of them leaving pitstall 0.16s too early - the race organizer did not had much competition for this mention with his 10.04 seconds pitstop,0.08s faster than the other legal one.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Also here the race organizer put his name on top - with 4 positions gain between start and finish,he had twice as much progress as several other drivers.
VOD at Youtube:
Next RTFR XL combo is already known - both car and track have been used once in normal RTFR,however not together. The Ereso was featured in exiting race in Rockingham's Oval less than 3 months ago,in 4 weeks it will make it's debut in RTFR XL also in Rockingham, however making a very long way around the straight between oval turns 3 and 4 - we will use Rockingham Extended ISSC custom configuration, run in 291st RTFR in october of 2022. Full details and estimated race distance will be found out later this week, just like also the combo for normal RTFR in next tuesday - all we know it will be a race with one of the road tyres wearing mods.
NOTE ABOUT RACE DISTANCE:
Due lack of activity in laptime testing in past for the custom combos,it has been decided to give an estimated lapcount in information. The actual lapcount will be announced after qualifying as it will be calculated using fastest laptime in qualifying (same rule as always - minumum lapcount to exceed 75 minutes).
Server will be password protected 1 hour before qualifying start to keep not knowing crowded server jumpers out of way, pass will be always the same: green
Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

2 weeks ago RTFR went as deep into car racing history as ever, yesterday we moved forward in time and run a car from much more modern era - the era where cars were getting more powerful engines, some basing aerodynamic help and grip of early generation slick tyres. And all that while driving simple thin glass fiber clad steel tube frame, which did not have much weight, creating somewhat specific handling traits - soft throttle foot was not an option, but highly needed to survive a lap. Running races in safe environment compared to real races allows us some experiments - this time it was a race with such car in an urban environment, track fully surrounded by steel and concrete barriers posing additional challenges to drivers. Challenges were high enough to reach lowest attendance number in 1.5 years - only 19 drivers qualified for this race,2 less were standing on grid waiting for green lights. Just 4 drivers retired,so atrition level was not too high, however finishers count include 2 rejoiners who took a closer look on other side of barriers during 1st lap.
Brazilian driver TJ started slow into this event - took a while until he found some pace to qualify in 4th position, but he kept the progress also during the race, eventually catching race leader and passing him to keep the lead for the remaining 20 laps to cross the finish line as race winner. It was his 5th RTFR race win for him and also 17th top5 finish. Thehemuli passed the polesitter for lead on lap 5 and set a bid for his 1st RTFR race win,but could not keep up constant pace for that and had to settle for yet another 2nd place finish, scoring his 20th top5 finish, however 10 laps he spent in race lead are 10 times more than he managed in all races before. 3rd in finish was a finnish driver who latelly has a trait to use some alias for races in community, this time under name Leo Kinnunen he set the fastest laptime during the race to score his 29th fastest lap of the race (now sole all time 2nd most),but run out of laps on his chase for leader and finished 3rd to score his 97th top5 finish. Winner of previous race was pretty much unrelevant for win this week - Trespasser qualified in low 11th position, made some passes at least to finish 4th - 4 is also the count of his top5 finishes. Out of nowhere there was a sudden brand new polesitter - Craaach's previous best qualifying result was 9th,achieved 9 races ago. But the polish polesitter led only 4 race laps and slipped further down the field, settling for 5th place finish - that's also 8 positions better than his previous best result.
After few non-championship RTFR races, next week's race will count towards standings - it's the july race of RTFR XL,featuring an LX4 in customized version of Fern Bay Black, which is expected to be 27 laps long as laptimes will be well above 2 and a half minutes. In 2 weeks normal RTFR will return with one of the road tyre cars and that will be the last off-season race of this summer.

Not surprisingly this round was the least attended round of the season - as usually custom tracks scare some learn restricted drivers away while others probably opted enjoying the warm weather outside. 20 drivers however qualified for this round, which is 1 more than half of all active listed series drivers - with absense of 2 on grid,it was 1 less than half of active drivers. 17 of the 18 starters finished the race, only casualty being struck by connection issue. The round itself turned out to be quite a domain of mid-engined cars - 3 different models of this layout featured in top3 of both sessions.
Despite losing more than 1/3 of a second on fastest lap in qualifying,2nd place starter Adam pretty much dominated the race - he took over the lead already in the 1st turns complex of the 1st lap and never saw another car in front of him again. After leading all 17 laps,Adam crossed finish line to score his 1st RandomCar race win,2nd for his Acosta Starlin and 5th for UK. Aplazt never had any high success in this series - his best finishing result before was 8th,but this week running with XF Turbo 5 he had the best race here as he kept solidly 2nd place for majority of the race to finish also in this position. For 2nd race in row, fastest in qualifying was TJ,this time running other mid-engined coupe URC1,however in this round in his own built track,he had such a weak start - the brazilian fell down in order and could rescue only 3rd place finish from this race.
Standings leader did not attend this round, but still kept his top position in table and lost 12 of 16 points advantage, closest rival Thehemuli finished just 9th in this round,3rd place driver in standings also is unchanged - Unite is now 13 points behind leader.
Also in teams standings there are no changes besides point gaps - S1dus still leads, but their lead has been decreased by 10 points - defending champions B2R are now 16 points apart,RGA is still 3rd with 40 points gap to table lead, interestingly keeping points gap status quo for 2nd round in row with their closest rivals from behind. Also in nations championship leaders saw their points gap reduced, however Finland lost just 2 points from it's big lead and is still 55 points ahead of Lithuania,Poland is still 3rd,already 70 points off lead. Top4 cars did not score a single point in this round and they kept their positions - XRT still leads by 15 points over Fraud Wheeler and 23 over Nortz.
24 different cars were drawn for this round, however just 15 were used. Most drawn was Stellar with 3 draws, from which 2 attended. Both all time most drawn cars received 2 draws and remained tied for most draws - Acosta and Talot. What's more interesting - majority of drivers received a car for the 1st time with only 5 exceptions, only 2 of them were actually running in the race.
Just a single best result of a car was improved during this round - Madjester was 5th in qualifying with the FZ70,beating Thehemuli's set 9th position, however 6th position in race was just a repeat.
Round 7 will be 5th visit of RandomCar in South City,2nd already this year - also 2nd in the Chicane Route reversed, which was run last year as round 4,race back then was won by Nortz, deffinitelly a car you might want to get in draw.
The following entries have not attended for 2 rounds in row and therefor have been marked as inactive - that means they will not be added to upcoming car draw:

Reason : ...because Deko
2 updates have been done regarding cars balancing between 2025 series rounds 5 and 6:
FRAUD WHEELER E2 - in good hands this car leaves the oposition stunned and fight only for 2nd position,so it must be slowed down a bit. The mid-engined AWD coupe will receive an additional 1% of restiction to reach a total of 13%.
URC1 - after the performance influencing update the best car of 2023 hasn't actually been used much and latelly it also lacked the performance,so it has been decided to remove 10kg of weight to help a little. The new balancing for it is 50% restrictor +170kg added weight.
This is a car racing simulator in which bikes simply happen to work due sim's physics, especially after some improvements over a year ago. Since there is not a single bike in official content list,I doubt improvements of bikes will be high in priorities list, there are already plenty of started improvements that would be useful to finish and release before diving into bike rider realistic movement/behaviour.
This is the closest thing to leaderboards - results of an organized race: https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/2119738#post2119738 (with this specific car in South City Town Course). At least you have some idea where are you in terms of pace...
The oldest car in RTFR history was run in the oldest track of LFS history - the track where "it all" started. 110 horsepower is not a lot these days, especially from an 8-cylinder 5+ liter engine, but if car has skinny tyres, only open differential and rather high weight center,it turned out to be quite a challenge. 25 drivers qualified for this race, one less started and at the end we had an unnatural finishers count for this era of racing - 62.5% of drivers crossed the finish line, just over half of the starters completed full race distance.
Even if technically this is 2 wins in row,it won't really go into history books - just a week after celebrating his 1st race win in RTFR XL,Trespasser joined also winners club of normal RTFR. The lithuanian was pretty much unchallenged this tuesday - he scored his 1st RTFR pole position in qualifying (just a position better than 4 races ago),led almost every single meter of the race to finish as winner with 6 seconds advantage over closest competitor. Trespasser is the 82nd race winner in RTFR history,3rd new one in past 2 months,he also scored a fastest lap of the race for the first time and his 3rd top5 finish. Just like race winner, also 2nd place finisher TJ set a laptime in race that was quicker than best laptime in qualifying session - the brazilian was able to improve himself from 5th position on grid to 2nd place in race finish, which is his 16th top5 finish. Michal followed the 2nd place finisher and also upgraded his grid position by 3 positions in race finish to repeat his best RTFR race result - 3rd position, which is his 14th top5 finish,2nd in past 3 races. S.Martin obviously found his best car as he improved his best results massivelly - the 2nd place in qualifying was 12 positions better and 4th place finish was 4 positions better than his results in previous 34 attended RTFR races. Top5 was closed by one of the newest additions to winners club - Adam made 4 positions progress to finish 5th and score his 9th top5 finish.
In 2 weeks another non-championship RTFR race will take place and there are no other infos about combo besides the usual switch to slick tyres,so you have to wait for announcement in weekend before the race. However next week it's time for RandomCar - round 6 of 2025 series will take place on a layout inspired by a brazilian circuit, carrying also it's name - Interlagos, which in this version is just under 4 kilometers long. Also information about next RTFR XL is already available - the 103rd RTFR XL will take place in a custom configuration in Fern Bay,which is somewhat reconfigured version of FE Black, run with LX4.

The 7th year featuring seasonal competition with it's own standings is also divided into 2 seasons from which the 1st one was concluded more than week ago,now it's time to review it. In the 12 rounds a total of 90 drivers were able to score at least a point towards standings,22 of them by finishing in top5 in at least 1 race,6 were able to reach the victory lane. The attendance ranged from 40 in round with a JGTC car to 24,which happened twice, both times with default LFS cars. The average of 31.4 drivers per race is still significantly higher than all time average and 3 more than in previous season (2024 S2) - as always greatly boosted by both WCL sponsorship and SB.tv broadcasting promotion.
RTFR 2025 Season 1 standings winner: S1DUS*GáboR
The hungarian driver has been very active and successful recently in both RTFR event types, the win in 2025 S1 standings was secured before last race, however undoubted few rounds earlier. Gábor won half of the 12 season's races, finishing in podium positions in 1/3 of season's races, failing to score top5 finish just in the only oval round. Additionally he set fastest lap in 8 qualifying sessions and 6 race sessions, reaching top of the all time most laps led chart during this season. It's the 5th season standings win for Gábor, first since 2023 season 2 - he finished 2nd in previous standings.
Just like in season 1 of last year,2nd place is taken by 2021 standings winner R.Kardol, who chased his teammate through the season and with 3 rounds left had at least some chances alive, however did not attend 10th round and effectivelly signed off from chances for his 2nd success. The dutchman won 2 races and finished in top5 in another 7,adding pole position and 2 fastest laps to his achievements, securing 2nd place with 1 round left. The bottom step of season standings podium is taken by Suforr, who added himself to RTFR winners club in 10th round of this season, scoring another 4 podium finishes - big improvement for the spaniard compared to 15th position in last season's standings.
The defending standings winner did not show much activity in this season - A.Valta attended just a single round, was the fastest in qualifying in it,but got involved in incident early on 1st lap. The sole pole position effort brought him to 69th position in standings. 3 other drivers were able to win a race this season, one of them for the first time - Lagooga won round 6,joining the 10 race winners club,Jorpa won round 7 to score his 2nd RTFR race win and scottsman Adam, who scored 2nd RTFR race win for his country, coincidentally on same track configuration the first one was done.
On coming tuesday the RTFR race will be the 1st of 3 off season races before the 10 rounds long season 2 starts on 5th august. Half of the RTFR XL 2025 season has also been completed - also there is starts to look quite a one-sided affair, but with 6 long rounds till ahead everything is far away to be decided.
* PENALTIES :
[MVR] J.Martins - receives 25.43 seconds penalty added to his finish time for minimum pit time violation.

After just 6 races break, the LFS slowest standard car returned to RTFR XL,this time in one of the longest tracks of LFS - Aston Historic, which made it's return after just 2 races break. This combo resulted in laptimes over 3 and a half minutes, despite having not much sections where drivers could not simply drive flat out,it wasn't very popular - 25 drivers qualified for the race (few more attempted),grid had only 23 drivers from which 6 retired before at least reaching half of the distance - 17 finishers is still the 2nd highest count in the past 5 races.
The last year in RTFR XL had 4 different winners - 3 single race winners and one repeating name filling rest of the entries, this race produced the 5th different driver in victory lane in past 13 races and 33rd overall. A lithuanian driver trespassed the domain of usual winner by beating him in qualifying to score his 1st pole position and despite slow start and few direct battles on track, beat the hungarian also for race win,to add also his name in RTFR XL winners club. This was also Trespasser's 3rd top5 finish out of 3 race starts. The usual winner Gábor had to concede this time and settle for 2nd place finish, scoring his 28th top5 finish. TJ turned out to be the only driver to beat 3:37 laptime mark - that happened during late phase of the race, scoring the first ever fastest lap of the race for all the brazilian drivers, but single lap pace was not enough for anything higher that 3rd place finish, which is his 4th top5 finish and 10th for brazilians. If 3rd place finisher gained a position during race,4th place finisher lost it - Unite finished 4th to score his 32nd top5 finish, tying the organizer for all time 2nd most. The only driver to not lead a lap between top5 finishers was Michal, who also gained a single position during the race, scoring his 9th top5 finish.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Such low lapcount races in RTFR XL is actually quite rare - this race with it's 21 laps race distance was the 2nd lowest lapcount in the RTFR XL history. The lowest still is the LX4 race in over 10km long Schwarzwald custom track, which produced laptimes over 5 minutes.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
This car needed less than 40% of car's fuel tank to complete the race, which is just 10kg of weight, which meant many drivers opted for work free pitstop. Best of them was S.Martin, who had a 10.21 seconds long pitstop right after completing 2/3 of the race.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
This was only the 2nd RTFR XL race for R.Guy and he managed to draw attention to himself already - he started 21st and finished 13th (just repeating the result of previous race),gaining a total of 8 positions between start and finish - 2 more than 2nd best positions gainer.
VOD at Youtube:
In 4 weeks next RTFR XL will take place, however currently it's unknown where and with what car - the brand new race winner still has to submit his decision. Next week normal RTFR will return in a bit more casual atmosphere - it will be the 1st of 3 off season events,so we might try to test some less popular cars or even try more different tracks, info about that as always will be posted during the weekend.

After exiting Tarzan hairpin,J.A.Katila follows the usual race line (from left to right across track) and Jourdan Serderidis just a bit behind keeps the car parallel to racetrack sidelines - until they meet and contact happens. This was an avoidable incident, however avoidable from both sides - J.A.Katila should have been aware of car beside him,Jourdan Serderidis could move rightwards. This is deemed to be a racing incident.

This is actually one of few real life combos possible in LFS - the entry level Formula BMW FB02 in now defunct Rockingham Motor Speedway, which was the car's 2nd ever visit to this environment, this time running in 3.25 kilometer ISSC Long configuration. Despite lack of the cirtual camera crews around the circuit, taking care of event promotion, this race still gathered 29 drivers in qualifying and all of them also started the race - even if this is more then all time average attendance,it was still the least attended FBM RTFR race from the latest 5 with this car.
Regarding top of the field, this was just a confirmation round to rest of the season - Gábor was already announced as season standings winner before last round of it,but he continued where he left of - winning yet another race after leading all laps, which is his 6th win in 12 season rounds and 44th in total and 50th race win for Hungary. Just by a 1/50th of a second the hungarian scored also his 43rd pole position and by setting a new server laptime record - also his 41st fastest lap of the race, adding also 82nd top5 finish to his stats. His well known rival TJ had to start from outside of 2nd row,but he found way to pass 2 cars and finish 2nd almost 4 seconds off race winner, scoring his 15th top5 finish. After missing 19 RTFR races,Mandula finally marked the milestone of starting his 100th RTFR race and celebrated it with 3rd position in both sessions (repeat of best qualifying result),scoring his 23rd top5 finish from 95 total finishes. The 2nd best driver of the season R.Kardol could not find common language with this car for high results, still gained 4 positions during the race to finish 4th and score his 106th top5 finish, soon in finish followed by J.Katila in 5th,to score his 27th top5 finish.
With this the 2025 Season 1 of RTFR is concluded and next 3 normal RTFR races will be just like in old times - just for fun and pride, starting in 2 weeks with one of the road tire cars. Season 2 with standings and broadcast will start on 5th august and will feature 10 rounds until early december. But racing for positions in season standings and action live broadcasting continues in RTFR XL and that's already next tuesday. The June round will take place in one of the faster racetracks with the slowest standard LFS car - full information will be posted later this evening.

Round 5 marked the end of 1st half of the 2025 season and just like 2 years ago it was held in Aston's North configuration. Back then the midengined version of XF was the car to beat as 2 drivers took best 2 positions in both sessions with that car, however no driver received that car this time,so a different midengined car took over the glory. A total of 48 drivers were in the draw list, however just 21 actually attended, marking the lowest attendance of the season. One driver left before the race start, leaving 20 cars on grid - despite 2 retirements, all 20 were classified as finished as all completed half of the race.
A driver with 1 win received a car with 2 wins - that combination led as expected to a common win. The brazilian driver TJ was pretty much unchallenged this tuesday with his Fraud Wheeler - he was more than a second per lap quicker in both sessions, just the first lap of the race was not led by him - he finished the race with 13 seconds gap over competition. Also standings leader received a winning car - he won opening round of this season with the Nortz, but in this round wasn't on the level to challenge for a race win, however still was able to progress from 5th position on grid to 2nd place finish. Also 3rd place finisher made lots of positions during the race - Madjester qualified just 10th and raced his Piran Firefly up to 3rd place in the finish results.
Standings leader finished 2nd and with it increased his lead in championship, however his main rival finished just 2 positions lower,so the gain of 2 points is currently not very decisive - R.Kardol has now 16 points advantage over Thehemuli, the new 3rd place holder is Unite who is 27 points away from top of the table.
Standings leaders S1dus increasing lead is the only change at the top of teams championship table - table positions from 2nd to 4th all scored 24 points in this round, keeping status quo between themselves. Defending champions B2R in 2nd position is now 26 points behind leaders, followed by RGA in 3rd another 17 points apart. Also in nations standings the leaders scored most points - the defending 2-time champions Finland increased their advantage over competition to 57 points, the new 2nd position in table is Lithuania, which pushed previous 2nd position Netherlands to 3rd. XRT keeps the lead in table and also have now 4 scores - increase of the total score is now possible by improving the currently lowest points score (4 best scores count towards season total),Fraud Wheeler jumped to 2nd position thanks to the race win and is now 15 points behind leading car,Nortz is the new 3rd position with 23 points deficite to leader despite having just 3 scores.
The draw results were rather spread out this time - a total of 33 cars were drawn for this round with only 2 cars receiving more than 2 draws (Firefly - 4 draws,XF Garis - 3),however with the low activity, only 18 different cars were used in the round with 14 different cars finishing in top15.
4 cars had their best results improved in this round. Unite draw a rather rarely used car - Fraud 040's previous best results have been set by 2 different drivers (J.A.Katila qualified 13th and Madjester finished 10th),now these have been united under 1 name as the finn qualified 4th and finished 5th. Similar situation was with Dorito FD - Arska's 10th in qualifying and Lorenzo's 12th in race are now beaten by Loco, who qualified 2nd and finished 7th. Lorenzo loses another top entry - his VSI-V2000 results (qualifying 16th and race 12th) were beaten by Hachiroku who was 9th in both sessions in this round. Trespasser in 3rd position was able to improve XF Garis' best qualifying result by a position, beating his countryman M,adding also 1st ever race lead lap with the car.
The 2nd half of the season will start in Brazil - sort of,the winner of the latest race selected a track which is recreation of his home country's well known racetrack Interlagos, set up in LFS's flat layout square. The track is yet to be tested for laptime and distance,so race distance is yet to be decided, but it will surely be brand new challenge for the PL200 class cars.
It's more than a year ago when I raised this topic here (with several more concrete suggestions),but there were not much replies so it vanished in deepness of forum, but yours was there. https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/106333
