On coming tuesday we'll gonna test this midengined XR in Aston's short club configuration. Not a difficult car to handle,but being fastest can be tricky! Join to race or just follow the action via livestream,race info and links to livestream in the event's info thread: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/111427-359th-RTFR
The attached RTFR promo skin is public and free for use.

Some feedback regarding the car after making the skin - as much as I find it cool to have some variable configurations with some differences,it's quite a headacke to make a skin that suits to all of them - especially if you use mask that has different color than some of the related panels. Logo on rear spoiler was also quite limited in usage to not look weird on the other spoiler type.
Other thing - when having skin,seats can be colored only white as their coloring is tied to main body.
What I liked - customizable number plate in both versions,that's a good idea actually,just need to check placement on other type not to have it in mask's color (was firstly surprised why euro numberplate is black Ya right).

I'm not asking for changes for this car,just giving some things to consider for future cars.

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

* PENALTIES :
YES Number - receives a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct (crashing driver on victory lane).
hermanni - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.
B2マ Suforr - receives 9.56 seconds penalty added to his finish time for minimum pit time violation.

- - - - - - - - - -

The 1st RTFR XL race of the 2nd century was run with the fastest standard LFS car BF1 in a soon to be standard configuration - the Westhill International without last chicane. Since making it standard will take a while,we have to make it ourself first using open config method. The fast BF1 with it's specific handling as always was a challenge for drivers,for some big enough to not even try - with 21 attending drivers this was not the least popular race of the year,but being around all time average values means lower attendance than in latest few years.

One week after celebrating his first ever RTFR race win,Suforr scored his own and his country's first pole position in the other RTFR series,setting sights also on the other winners club. However he was passed very early in the race and led 10 laps in 2 pitstop shuffling phases before retiring after spinning the car 2 turns after completing half of the race distance. The driver who has won 8 of latest 11 RTFR XL races incresed his winning percentage to 75% after this race - Gábor once again was the driver to beat,this time leading 42 of 54 laps and finishing 44 seconds ahead of competition to score his 17th RTFR XL race win,picking up also his 17th fastest lap of the race and 27th top5 finish. A driver with a win with different F1 car in RTFR XL was the best of the rest this week - Number also took over race lead for 2 laps during pitstops shuffling,but was no danger for race win and finished 2nd to score his 5th top5 finish. Trespasser scored his best qualifying result 3rd,improving the best result by 1,but could not find any way to upgrade the position during race and scored 3rd position also in race results,which is his 2nd top5 finish. Last on the lead lap was a driver who decided to opt for a funny name for this race - mr Puntola scored his 31st top5 finish. Despite losing a lap,Ayoub still managed to clinch a top5 finish,which is the 9th for the maroccan.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Attendance in previous 4 RTFR XL races with BF1 has been quite stable - all races featured 18 to 24 drivers,so the 21 this week was the exact middle between those values and just above the average.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
With need of more than 2 full fuel tanks for this race,everyone completing full or clost to full race distance stopped twice in pits,shortest pitstop time was done by the winner himself,who did 2 very similar pitstops of refuelling only,totalling 15.55 seconds spent in pitstall. There was a driver with less time spent in pitstall,however the driver retired before needing the 2nd pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Low effort in qualifying and big improvement during the race - quite a trend for some drivers,this time it was Nandolonso,who improved own qualifying's best laptime by more than 2 seconds during the race. Starting from 19th grid position and finishing 7th gave him progress of 12 positions during the race,one more than 2nd best positions upgrade.

VOD at Youtube:

Since it's not allowed to select combo for back to back races,the winner may not pick another combo,so the selection was relayed to 2nd place finisher,who did not need to decide it - it will be 8th running of the slowest LFS standard car (tying for most selections with FZR) UF1,which will be run for just 21 laps in Aston Historic on 18th june. Before that tuesdays will be filled with 2 last races of RTFR 2025 season 1,first one running with one of the road legal cars,between those - RandomCar 2025 round 5.

NOTE ABOUT RACE DISTANCE:

Due lack of activity in laptime testing in past for the custom combos,it has been decided to give an estimated lapcount in information. The actual lapcount will be announced after qualifying as it will be calculated using fastest laptime in qualifying (same rule as always - minumum lapcount to exceed 75 minutes).

Server will be password protected 1 hour before qualifying start to keep not knowing crowded server jumpers out of way,pass will be always the same: green

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time,which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

RTFR has been very changing in terms of car/track combos and regular racers had to deal with whatever was thrown to them,that is if they were interested to arrive - that was the car with this combo which can be described as one of the toughest. The rollhappy NGT class car UFR coupled with track with highest curbs wasn't too atractive for people as 24 drivers in qualifying is the repeated lowest attendance this year. Despite pessimistic prognoses about new retirement record,finishing rate was still above 2/3 - not even lowest this year. However this race repeated other very old record - it featured a new race winner just like in previous race and last time there were new additions to RTFR Winners club from back to back races was december 2016/january 2017 and most noticably that new winners pair also was started by a scottish driver winning a race in Rockingham oval.

The new addition to Winners club as you can see in the picture is Suforr - a spanish driver who has been around top positions latelly and has scored 6 top5 finishes before this race,including 2 each 2nd and 3rd place finishes this year. This week he qualified 3rd,got promoted to outside of front row due non-starter and took over the race lead when polesitter decided to make more adventures in the race than needed. Finishing the 2nd lap as race leader added him as 118th driver in lap leaders chart and he gathered up a total of 12 lead laps to score 1st race finish not just for himself but also all spanish drivers. Also 2nd place finisher scored his best ever RTFR result - already in qualifying Jsk halved the value of best qualifying result (from 8th to 4th),finishing result was even bigger improvement as previous best was 7th position - with this the slovakian scored his 1st top5 finish from 53 race starts. Thehemuli finished 3rd to repeat season's best result and score his 19th top5 finish,polesitter Gábor needed some repairs in pitstop after his lap 2 incident,but still raced up to 4th position to score his 80th top5 finish and practically seal the deal on current season standings win. Top5 was closed by another spanish driver Rayman,scoring his 3rd top5 finish.

VOD at Youtube:

Next week it's time for the XL version of RTFR - another 75 minutes race is ahead and this one will feature the fastest LFS standard car BF1 and Westhill's longest standard config without the last chicane. Full information and server will be posted and set up tomorrow. And in 2 weeks normal RTFR will return with some custom car and rather short standard track - some hints can be heard when watching the stream recoring above.

Quote from Scawen :- When people are using multiple accounts
Yes, this can sometimes be detected by linking one IP address with multiple accounts. But users can get around that by changing IP address (dynamic IP or VPN).

Well,there was one case of such abuse - in 2023 Crashmas event there was a guy gaining unfair advantage by buying an S1 licence for new account to have 2nd chance at the event. This was noticed only later and confirmed when checking server logs for IP when joining server. So it would be handy to have this option in case someone tries to pull this stunt again.

Quote from Scawen :- When certain IP is sending requests to the server but not connecting (malicious actor)
I don't think this is seen these days, because of how the system works, but correct me if I am wrong.

I believe it was at some point last year when some IP adresses where in server log with some spam-like behaviour - people were reporting that in discord chats,checked myself and did couple IP bans just to be sure. Again something worth to have as option except that can be somehow prevented serverside from actual host.

Quote from [MRc : jsk]Session: Randomcar R4 - Q
Lap/MPR time: 14:10
Involved drivers: jsk, P.Neves
Description of incident: Neves leaves the pits without checking map or acknowledging blue flags and turns into an obstacle in T1

* PENALTIES :
[MVR] P.Neves - receives a warning for blue flag violation during qualifying - future incidents will lead to actual penalty.

- - - - - - - - - -

Early in the 3rd season RandomCar finally visited one of the Westhill's standard configurations after 2 races run in custom ones. The National reversed configuration with it's 2 long straights firstly looked like a playground for high power cars,however the middle section with it's turns and twists benefited light well handling cars - that kinda balanced things out and front row featured one of the heaviest cars and one from lower weight class. 27 drivers gathered up for this round,which is just a bigger half from 49 entries getting drawn a car for this round - 26 of them are scored as finished,despite 2 of them never crossing finish line after chequered flag was displayed.

For this round XRT was a clear randomizer's favourite - a total of 7 cars were drawn,4 of them arrived and all of them were within top11 in both sessions,one of them,driven by Unite,was the fastest in qualifying,scoring the 2nd pole position for the car this year,3rd in total. However polesitter's lead was very short as he was jumped by AWD car in start - Adam led first 2 laps before allowing the race winner to pass him. The RandomCar debutant Trespasser snatched race lead on lap 3 and run away from competition with his lightweight MZ-S Roadster,scoring the 1st win for the car that was added before start of this season via voting. After running the XF Coupe for 300 kilometers on sunday,Twincam received it also for RandomCar race 2 days later - even if the common racing surface between Westhill tracks used in the 2 races is measurable with few hundred meters where smaller half was driven in same direction,the feeling for the car surely helped the irishman to bring it from 5th position on grid to 2nd position in finish. After some ups and downs,polesitter Unite eventually managed to rescue at least a 3rd place finish in this race.

R.Kardol got Dorito for this race and finished it 4th to scored healty set of points which were more than enough to pass the not attending standings leader,who slipped down to 3rd position - Dodislaw is now 18 points behind,just ahead of him is Thehemuli with 14 points deficite to table lead. With only 8 best scores from 10 rounds missing a round still means nothing is really lost in race for championship.

Teams standings leaders Team S1dus drivers finished 3rd and 4th,scoring the highest points count between all teams this round and increasing their lead to 15 points over defending champions B2R. 2023 champions RGA keeps 3rd position and trails already by 32 points. Finland is now on run - 2nd round in row with highest points score,3rd with 30+ points results in 45 points lead over single driver nation Netherlands (led by drivers standings leader),early standings leaders are now 3rd,one point behind 2nd position. Another solid result for XRT means their lead is extended to 18 points XF Coupe,XM-5 is still 3rd with 20 points gap.

31 different cars were drawn for the 49 entries,as mentioned the XRT got the biggest chunk with 7 draws,both XF Coupe and Acosta receiving 4 draws. Talot remains the all time most drawn car getting one for this round,however Acosta has just 1 less now,closelly followed by XF Coupe.
Only 2 cars got new best results - the obvious one is Trespasser's 3rd position in qualifying and race win,beating Rony's previously set best results (accoringly 9th and 10th positions). The other one is R.Kardol's 4th position in qualifying with Dorito FD7 SR,which is 2 positions better than previous best shared by Dodislaw and Mouseman,however his 4th position in race is just a repeat of best result.

Round 5 of 2025 coincidentally will be a repead of round 5 of 2023 - the Aston North has been selected as next track,the 5.2km circuit will be run for 14 laps in the race. Last time both win and pole position was taken by 2 different drivers running XF Turbo 5 with both drivers with the car finishing 1st and 2nd - good sign for those who might get the car drawn.

But that's how real gearbox works - you can simply shift from gear into neutral,with load (either acceleration or deceleration) it's rather difficult as gears lock themselves,but without load (the moment when you release throttle) it's very easy to shift to neutral. Same with putting from neutral into gear - when you push lightly the lever to gear (not too hard to not grind),at specific rpm/speed it will jump into gear with rather low resistance - same happens in LFS,where you can shift gears without clutch with simple revmatching.
The only part that is missing between real gearbox and LFS simulation over shifter is the "force feedback" as there is no resistance of the shifter.

The voting between rounds 3 and 4 of 2025 resulted in an addition of a new car,which is the only cars lineup uptate at this point:

GT-V 2600GTX won the voting by just a single vote in a race between 2 rather distinct favourites for the voters It's a classic sports coupe hailing from 70ies and is a direct predecessor of 2 cars already in RC cars list. The car is already quite similar to PL200 class cars in terms of performance and needs just 1% air restrictor for balancing to reach the nominal performance level of 200 hp per ton.

Quote from ZFRL•Thehemuli via RG Discord :Session: 357th RTFR - Race
Lap/MPR time: Lap 22 - 16:10.00->
Involved drivers: Foch, Thehemuli, Gábor
Description of incident: Foch is already 3 laps down and cannot control his car. He is sliding along the wall into T2 while Gábor and Thehemuli approach him with blue flags. Foch then proceeds to cut into the racing line taking out both of the overtaking cars and causing a chain reaction involving cars in the chasing pack.

* PENALTIES :
[MVR] P.Neves - the 30 seconds penalty for speeding in pitlane results in loss of last completed lap.
Foch (lfsw: Foch98) - receives a DISQUALIFICATION from race results and 3 months ban from RGE organized events for multiple incidents, low driving standards and lack of track/surroundings awareness. We hope the driver can compete in other events or public races to improve the driving and gain some track experience before race ban ends.

- - - - - - - - - -

Despite the odd combo, the race turned out to be quite a spectacle - it included everything between pack racing, mishaps and incidents, drama and last lap chase to clock the 15th closest finish in all 357 races. With 30 drivers this was the biggest grid out of 4 races started in Rockingham's oval and early on top of the field were running rather patiently in a 7 car train, however later there were plenty of splits and reunions for various reasons.

The very first RTFR race in Rockingham's oval went into history for the closest finish in RTFR history and first ever (and until now also the only) race win of a Scottish driver. If the first entry in record books was not really endangered, the 2nd one received an addition - Adam started the race from 5th position and spent most of the race in lead pack, led 7 laps from last 10 to escape from chasers and cross the finish line first for the 1st time in his 39 races long history in the event. The previous best race result for him was 3rd position and it was the 8th top5 finish. MousemanLV repeated his best qualifying effort (3rd) and also spent the race in leading pack, during last lap he was one of the chasers, but run out the distance to pass for lead,so he had to settle for 2nd place finish which is still 2 positions higher than his previous best result, adding 3rd top5 finish to his stats. The bumpdrafting during qualifying worked well for Unite as he set the fastest lap in session to score his 11th pole position, however he never led a single lap and also last lap dash ended with a mistake in last turn, which demoted him to 3rd place in finish - that's his 95th top5 finish. Trespasser is a rare visitor in RTFR - it was just his 3rd event, but once again he qualified 2nd, led his first 37 laps, but was not in contention for race win in deciding phase of race, finishing in top5 for 2nd time. R.Kardol closed the top5 to score his 104th top5 finish and to delete almost 1/3 of his gap to standings leader. One more driver is left to mention - the owner of fastest lap of the race. Suforr scored his very first of those for himself and also for Spain when being part of the leading fast pack - interestingly all 5 fastest laptimes of the race were set in the 14th lap.

VOD at Youtube:

One more race ahead this week from RGE - the 6th annual long distance race set in Westhill's support roads, this year it's a 300 kilometers race, a distance that can be completed in just over 3 hours. If you're fancy for a challenge or just want to take part in different kind of race, feel free to visit Race Green 300km of Westhill 2025 info thread to find out more and sign up of the event. Next week RandomCar will take over the RTFR server with a race in Westhill, but in 2 weeks RTFR will return with a tricky combo, which will spice things up when season closes in it's ending.
