2 cars have received adjustemnts of their restrictions between rounds 2 and 3 of 2025 series:

FEND TORUS has been scaring drivers away with it's mass and in most cases it was not used when it was drawn. Last round one brave driver used it and proved it's currently lacking a bit of performance,so the air intake restrictor was reduced by 1% - new mandatory restrictor is 3%!

XR GT Turbo also had more activity than before - with 4 top5 finishes through first 2 rounds of the season including double win in latest round it's deffinitelly one of the fastest cars in the list,so it's restrictor is now doubled to reach 2% intake restriction.

With 190 horsepower car might not seem to be very high performing, but with just over half a ton weight, the LX6 is the fastest road legal car of LFS,well at least in twisty tracks where it's LRF mates cannot use their superior power. With it's attributes,LX6 is surely driver's car - challenging in both fast and slow turns and Kyoto's longest standard track has all of turn possibilities. With 31 drivers in qualifying this was the 3rd most popular LX6 race in RTFR,however 4 of the qualifyers did decide to not start the race, while from 28 starters 2 were lost in first couple laps, both getting involved in incidents - there were some complaints, but no actual reports/protests,so we can assume all the incidents were settled as racing incidents without need to review.

Last estonian win in RTFR was registered in 185th RTFR in september 2018 and here's the interesting part of this fact - it was the first and until this tuesday also the only race win for Jorpa, which happened also with an LX car back then. Jorpa was the 3rd fastest in qualifying, followed closelly both front row starters until they tangled and jumped into race lead, keeping it for rest of the race - after 32 minutes of racing the estonian joined the RTFR multiple winners club, scoring also his 4th top5 finish. Gábor did chase the race leader, however despite keeping him in sight for most of the race,he had to settle for 2nd place finish, scoring his 78th top5 finish. Also 3rd place finisher improved by 2 positions between start and finish - R.Kardol finished 3rd to score the record extending 103rd top5 finish. Lagooga was 2nd best in qualifying, but after 1st lap incident fell down to 10th position,so he had to do plenty of overtakes to return at least up in 4th position to score his 21st top5 finish, setting also fastest lap of the race which is his 8th. Top5 was closed by Dodislaw, who added the 3rd top5 finish to his stats.

In 3 weeks RTFR XL will celebrate it's century and the combo is yet to be decided - in the currently open voting there are 2 rather significant leaders, while in track voting there's a track that gained most votes, but plenty of others are still within striking distance. Make sure to cast your votes for both CAR and TRACK! In 2 weeks normal RTFR will return with one of the slick tyre racing machines - which and were as always was mentioned during the latest broadcast. But on next tuesday the RTFR server will be taken over by RandomCar - the 3rd round of the PL200 class league with many different cars will be run in a custom Kyoto configuration known under the name North, make sure to sign up or reactivate the signup to get your car drawn on monday!

I just bough a cheap mini PC and connected it to my router, accessing it for configurations via AnyDesk - best option I could find. The dynamic IP was also not a problem as LFS hosting allows to set a range in the access control.

And neither LFS has option to put grass,so something will be different anyways. Was just a suggestion, because currently there's nothing that stops running wide in several turns.

Interesting project - I've always been kinda fan of this track, still remember old CART races there and actually the 1st live CART race I ever saw was run there,so I'm deffinitelly curious about this. Quick check and compared to Google Earth measurements it seems to be on scale, however the layout itself does not seem to be well made as the track consists of lines, which probably are not the best track limits enforcement, while the lots of the tyre barriers seem to be just a waste of objects (we're still quite limited in layout editor unfortunatelly). Maybe would be better if you would use the long 10m speed bumps as track limits (the 6m for turns)? Could also save few objects as these are 2m longer than lines while it would also enforce track limits better.
Too bad LFS limitations force to move finish line... Shrug

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

This car is a true dinosaur of racecars - powerful, brutal, dangerous and extinct. In real life that is,however in simracing we can bring back extinct cars and race them without the dangers these were surrounded during it's original existance and everyone can give his own try to tame the beast. Yesterday the dinosaur featured in the 3rd RTFR race - after being in the experimental RTFR CCCC and off-season normal RTFR,it now was selected also for the 75 minutes long RTFR XL. The Aston Historic with it's variating fast turns deffinitelly tortured racers even more, many tried and quit even before completing a lap,19 drivers still were able to set a laptime in qualifying,17 of the started the race and just 10 saw the chequered flag - addition 2 drivers were classified in results by completing more than half distance.

The RTFR 2024 season 2 winner A.Valta does not have a lot of experience in the longer version of the event - this was only his 4th attendance, but turned out to be the best by far. The finn was the fastest in qualifying and scored his 1st RTFR XL pole position and after few struggles with fellow front row starter during first 2 laps,he took over the lead for the last time - A.Valta led 33 laps to cross finish line practically unchallenged, setting all time 3rd highest margin of victory which is the highest in latest 6 years time. This was already his 2nd RTFR XL race win,the fastest lap of the race was his 1st,while he also scored the 4th top5 finish for himself and 160th for Finland. The only 2 other drivers who were able to finish on lead lap are probably 2 most experienced drivers with the specific car as both are Retro Cup winners when running the McLarry - the defending Retro Cup champion Thehemuli was the better one by finishing 2nd,which is his new best RTFR XL race result, improving previous best by a single position and scoring his 7th top5 finish. The previous Retro Cup champion Rony finished 3rd to score his 32nd top5 finish. This was the 10th RTFR XL race for S.Martin and he improved his previous best results by halving them - the 6th position in qualifying was and improvement by 6 positions and the 4th place finish was an improvement by 4 positions. The top5 was closed by Ohnifus, who scored the 2nd top5 finish in row and 4th overall.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
One race before reaching the milestone of 100 races,RTFR XL reached another milestone - in the 14th lap,the all time total races distance reached 20 000 kilometers. For comparision, the 6 years longer running normal RTFR with shorter races and 2 races per month is expected to reach the 30 000 kilometer mark early next year.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
No driver tried to finish this race without pitwork - most opted for tyre change, some refuelled the car and some needed also damage repairs. So again the mention goes simply to driver with shortest pit time,in this case it's shared between 2 LFS veterans as both changed tyres in 13.25 seconds - Rony and S.Martin, very closelly followed by 2 other drivers with just 0.01s slower pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Ohnifus qualified just 12th,however found way past several drivers on track and gained few positions on retirements - with 7 positions gain he even found way into top5.

VOD at Youtube:

The biggest drawback of winning the 99th RTFR XL - you don't get the chance to select combo for next race. As already previously announced, the centurial RTFR XL race will be 100 minutes long and the combo will be decided by community - polls are already active, make sure to cast your votes for best CAR and TRACK for the 100th RTFR XL! Both polls will close automatically on sunday the 13th April on midday UTC time. Next week in normal RTFR we will race one of the candidate tracks for 100th RTFR XL and that with a road legal car - which and where will be posted during the weekend, however in 2 weeks server will be given out for some random cars racing.

Hello,racers!

Once again an RTFR series has reached an anniversary milestone, this time the longer RTFR XL has reached it's first century - on 22nd april 2025 we gonna race in the 100th edition of this monthly semi-casual racing series, which accordingly will be 100 minutes race instead of 75. Unlike for normal RTFR,here there was no interviews of previous winners for car and track suggestions - this time all the candidates are based purely on some kind of popularity.

The tracks list features most popular configuration of each track environment (except Autocross) - some environments had a clear winner from attendance charts, however most were more unclear,so we had a quick poll in our discord channen to find out best track - in most cases there was a clear winner.

Please vote for your favourite car from options in poll! Also vote for car: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/110935
Poll closes 12:00 UTC sunday, just over a week before the event (13th april)!

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Who would know that a little czech car from 90ies would attract the biggest crowd in RTFR in the past 13 months time - a total of 38 drivers qualified for this race despite the tricky handling of NGT class car, which has been officially licenced by the manufacturer. However 6 of the qualifyers decided not to start and with addition of one wildcard starter a total of 33 Škoda Felicias were standing on grid, using all 3 car's configurations, most default skins and few user skins the field was very colorful. However there were plenty of incidents, eventually forcing 1/3 of the field to retire for various reasons - quite high atrition rate for a 170 horsepower FWD car.

Lagooga wasn't attending RTFR for one year, but yesterday kept doing the same he did before the break - winning,as the lithuanian won both his last attended RTFR race and coincidentally also the last RTFR race in this same configuration (275th RTFR 3 years ago, running with LX6). Yesterday he was the one to beat, however his advantage was really small - he earned his 19th pole position (tied 4th most) with just 0.03s advantage and despite leading all 22 race laps (with that exceeding 200 laps led mark),he finished just 0.29 of a second in front of closest rival, still adding the 10th race win to his stats, while his top5 count now is exactly the double of wins - 20. R.Kardol qualified 3rd,but quite soon climbed up to 2nd position in race, eventually reducing leader's gap under 1 second, clocking the all time 16th closest finish 2 weeks after he was in front of 18th closest finish (now 19th). The all time top5 finishes leader added the 102nd top5 finish to his stats out of 120 overall race finishes. The 15 race rating and current season standings leader Gábor was very close to fastest laptime in both sessions, however could not pull the best out of this car and settled for 3rd place finish, scoring his 77th top5 finish. The brazilian TJ was 4th in both sessions to score his 14th top5 finish,Unite managed to steal the fastest lap of the race in last lap, scoring his 27th of those (still all time 3rd most),but finished just on tale end of top5 to add 94th of those to his stats.

VOD at Youtube:

RTFR XL is next on menu and next tuesday it will be quite challenging - a high powered sports car from early 70ies will be run in Aston's configuration with very appropriate name - Historic. The race length is estimated 33 laps, however the lapcount may be adjusted as it depends from polesitter's laptime - full information will be posted this friday. In 2 weeks time normal RTFR will return with one of the street legal cars,as always hints about the combo can be heard during the latest livestream recording.

Quote from stuchlo :Anyway, I hope drivers had fun despite tire issues. Maybe I should remove slicks in the future.

Can't speak for all,but with race setup (R3 fronts) it was a bit challenging, but not really that bad,I had couple hairy moments when on full cornering suddenly inside lifted, but I survived despite NGT class cars have never been my speciality. I guess with racing config available also racing tyres should stay. And since attendance was so high (car will get in top5 in all time highest average attendance chart),it should make a return to RTFR in year or 2.

For those who missed, here's video on demand:

Regarding car,it was quite rollhappy, even more than XFR when running R2 front tyres, some say it's because of relativelly high center of gravity, some say it's because the LFS slicks are too sticky. Not sure,if adjustments needed. Shrug Also I'm not sure if live adjustable brakes/antiroll is correct with this car, however if you have info that it was possible for real car, then ignore this.

However I have one improvement suggestion - on rallycross config it would be better to have the 4th coloring option only for the light covers (instead of them being colored together with bumpers).
