Lap/MPR time: 14:10
Involved drivers: jsk, P.Neves
Description of incident: Neves leaves the pits without checking map or acknowledging blue flags and turns into an obstacle in T1

* PENALTIES :
[MVR] P.Neves - receives a warning for blue flag violation during qualifying - future incidents will lead to actual penalty.

Early in the 3rd season RandomCar finally visited one of the Westhill's standard configurations after 2 races run in custom ones. The National reversed configuration with it's 2 long straights firstly looked like a playground for high power cars,however the middle section with it's turns and twists benefited light well handling cars - that kinda balanced things out and front row featured one of the heaviest cars and one from lower weight class. 27 drivers gathered up for this round,which is just a bigger half from 49 entries getting drawn a car for this round - 26 of them are scored as finished,despite 2 of them never crossing finish line after chequered flag was displayed.

For this round XRT was a clear randomizer's favourite - a total of 7 cars were drawn,4 of them arrived and all of them were within top11 in both sessions,one of them,driven by Unite,was the fastest in qualifying,scoring the 2nd pole position for the car this year,3rd in total. However polesitter's lead was very short as he was jumped by AWD car in start - Adam led first 2 laps before allowing the race winner to pass him. The RandomCar debutant Trespasser snatched race lead on lap 3 and run away from competition with his lightweight MZ-S Roadster,scoring the 1st win for the car that was added before start of this season via voting. After running the XF Coupe for 300 kilometers on sunday,Twincam received it also for RandomCar race 2 days later - even if the common racing surface between Westhill tracks used in the 2 races is measurable with few hundred meters where smaller half was driven in same direction,the feeling for the car surely helped the irishman to bring it from 5th position on grid to 2nd position in finish. After some ups and downs,polesitter Unite eventually managed to rescue at least a 3rd place finish in this race.

R.Kardol got Dorito for this race and finished it 4th to scored healty set of points which were more than enough to pass the not attending standings leader,who slipped down to 3rd position - Dodislaw is now 18 points behind,just ahead of him is Thehemuli with 14 points deficite to table lead. With only 8 best scores from 10 rounds missing a round still means nothing is really lost in race for championship.

Teams standings leaders Team S1dus drivers finished 3rd and 4th,scoring the highest points count between all teams this round and increasing their lead to 15 points over defending champions B2R. 2023 champions RGA keeps 3rd position and trails already by 32 points. Finland is now on run - 2nd round in row with highest points score,3rd with 30+ points results in 45 points lead over single driver nation Netherlands (led by drivers standings leader),early standings leaders are now 3rd,one point behind 2nd position. Another solid result for XRT means their lead is extended to 18 points XF Coupe,XM-5 is still 3rd with 20 points gap.

31 different cars were drawn for the 49 entries,as mentioned the XRT got the biggest chunk with 7 draws,both XF Coupe and Acosta receiving 4 draws. Talot remains the all time most drawn car getting one for this round,however Acosta has just 1 less now,closelly followed by XF Coupe.
Only 2 cars got new best results - the obvious one is Trespasser's 3rd position in qualifying and race win,beating Rony's previously set best results (accoringly 9th and 10th positions). The other one is R.Kardol's 4th position in qualifying with Dorito FD7 SR,which is 2 positions better than previous best shared by Dodislaw and Mouseman,however his 4th position in race is just a repeat of best result.

Round 5 of 2025 coincidentally will be a repead of round 5 of 2023 - the Aston North has been selected as next track,the 5.2km circuit will be run for 14 laps in the race. Last time both win and pole position was taken by 2 different drivers running XF Turbo 5 with both drivers with the car finishing 1st and 2nd - good sign for those who might get the car drawn.

But that's how real gearbox works - you can simply shift from gear into neutral,with load (either acceleration or deceleration) it's rather difficult as gears lock themselves,but without load (the moment when you release throttle) it's very easy to shift to neutral. Same with putting from neutral into gear - when you push lightly the lever to gear (not too hard to not grind),at specific rpm/speed it will jump into gear with rather low resistance - same happens in LFS,where you can shift gears without clutch with simple revmatching.
The only part that is missing between real gearbox and LFS simulation over shifter is the "force feedback" as there is no resistance of the shifter.

The voting between rounds 3 and 4 of 2025 resulted in an addition of a new car,which is the only cars lineup uptate at this point:

GT-V 2600GTX won the voting by just a single vote in a race between 2 rather distinct favourites for the voters It's a classic sports coupe hailing from 70ies and is a direct predecessor of 2 cars already in RC cars list. The car is already quite similar to PL200 class cars in terms of performance and needs just 1% air restrictor for balancing to reach the nominal performance level of 200 hp per ton.

Quote from ZFRL•Thehemuli via RG Discord :Session: 357th RTFR - Race
Lap/MPR time: Lap 22 - 16:10.00->
Involved drivers: Foch, Thehemuli, Gábor
Description of incident: Foch is already 3 laps down and cannot control his car. He is sliding along the wall into T2 while Gábor and Thehemuli approach him with blue flags. Foch then proceeds to cut into the racing line taking out both of the overtaking cars and causing a chain reaction involving cars in the chasing pack.

* PENALTIES :
[MVR] P.Neves - the 30 seconds penalty for speeding in pitlane results in loss of last completed lap.
Foch (lfsw: Foch98) - receives a DISQUALIFICATION from race results and 3 months ban from RGE organized events for multiple incidents, low driving standards and lack of track/surroundings awareness. We hope the driver can compete in other events or public races to improve the driving and gain some track experience before race ban ends.

- - - - - - - - - -

Despite the odd combo, the race turned out to be quite a spectacle - it included everything between pack racing, mishaps and incidents, drama and last lap chase to clock the 15th closest finish in all 357 races. With 30 drivers this was the biggest grid out of 4 races started in Rockingham's oval and early on top of the field were running rather patiently in a 7 car train, however later there were plenty of splits and reunions for various reasons.

The very first RTFR race in Rockingham's oval went into history for the closest finish in RTFR history and first ever (and until now also the only) race win of a Scottish driver. If the first entry in record books was not really endangered, the 2nd one received an addition - Adam started the race from 5th position and spent most of the race in lead pack, led 7 laps from last 10 to escape from chasers and cross the finish line first for the 1st time in his 39 races long history in the event. The previous best race result for him was 3rd position and it was the 8th top5 finish. MousemanLV repeated his best qualifying effort (3rd) and also spent the race in leading pack, during last lap he was one of the chasers, but run out the distance to pass for lead,so he had to settle for 2nd place finish which is still 2 positions higher than his previous best result, adding 3rd top5 finish to his stats. The bumpdrafting during qualifying worked well for Unite as he set the fastest lap in session to score his 11th pole position, however he never led a single lap and also last lap dash ended with a mistake in last turn, which demoted him to 3rd place in finish - that's his 95th top5 finish. Trespasser is a rare visitor in RTFR - it was just his 3rd event, but once again he qualified 2nd, led his first 37 laps, but was not in contention for race win in deciding phase of race, finishing in top5 for 2nd time. R.Kardol closed the top5 to score his 104th top5 finish and to delete almost 1/3 of his gap to standings leader. One more driver is left to mention - the owner of fastest lap of the race. Suforr scored his very first of those for himself and also for Spain when being part of the leading fast pack - interestingly all 5 fastest laptimes of the race were set in the 14th lap.

VOD at Youtube:

One more race ahead this week from RGE - the 6th annual long distance race set in Westhill's support roads, this year it's a 300 kilometers race, a distance that can be completed in just over 3 hours. If you're fancy for a challenge or just want to take part in different kind of race, feel free to visit Race Green 300km of Westhill 2025 info thread to find out more and sign up of the event. Next week RandomCar will take over the RTFR server with a race in Westhill, but in 2 weeks RTFR will return with a tricky combo, which will spice things up when season closes in it's ending.

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

Quote from michal 1279 :Event: 100th RTFR XXL
Lap: Lap 1, MPR 1:40, post-underpass
Involved drivers: [MRc] Michal, Wj/ Egorka?
Description: Egorka makes a very opportunistic (senseless to be more precise) attempt to pass Michal into the fast righthander after underpass, only small time lost, but feels like unnecessary/unsportsmanlike move.

Michal brakes early on 2-wide situation on approach to turn and is off normal speed, so the pass attempt from Egorka is valid, however the execution is bad - Egorka does not steer properly beside car ahead and hits in on turn approach.

Quote from michal 1279 :Event: 100th RTFR XXL
Lap: Lap 4, MPR 9:15, boothy chicane
Involved drivers: [MRc] Michal, /SRP/ HachiRoku, [MRc] jsk
Description: HachiRoku makes a late dive on Michal, carrying too much speed into the chicane, forcing Michal into the haystacks, thus destroying his suspension and ultimately whole race. Also involved was jsk, who got spun in the chain reaction started by this event.

Hachiroku cannot hold the inside line when entering turn with car on outside and pushes it out of track.

* PENALTIES :
[WCL] J.A.Katila - receives a WARNING for avoidable incident entering turn 1 of lap 1 - future incidents might lead to actual penalty.
Wj/ Egorka? - receives a WARNING for avoidable incident entering turn 9 of lap 1 - future incidents might lead to actual penalty.
/SRP/ HachiRoku - receives a WARNING for avoidable incident in Boothy chicane of lap 4 - future incidents might lead to actual penalty.

- - - - - - - - - -

This tuesday on the 1st RTFR XXL... Well,it was actually just a bit extended version of usual RTFR XL - just 1/3 longer than normally - and that in community's voted combo. The LFS's own grown XR GTR won the voting by just 3 votes and that with some campaign from certain members, beating the most popular GT3 car. However the track selection was pretty much straight forward - Kyoto's GP Long config with an extra chicane had more than twice as much votes as 2nd most popular track. The longer race did not scare off the racers, even better - the 100th event went into history as the most attended RTFR XL ever with 44 participants, beating 50th and 61st RTFR XL by 1 driver. Unfortunatelly a total of 7 drivers decided not to race, leaving 3 spots on grid free - putting this race with tied 5th most starters.

We can only speculate how the race would be going if some strongest competitors would do more effort during qualifying, but in this situation Gábor was in his leading position practically unchallenged from green lights to chequered and the hungarian scored yet another race win, starting the race from pole position. After 100 races it's easy to calculate winning percentage from all time races count - Gábor's most recent win 16th, making him being successful in 16% of all races, however the percentage is more overwhelming in latest 11 races - 73% (8 from 11 races). Additionally Gábor scored his 18th pole position (20th for Hungary), 17th fastest lap of the race and 26th top5 finish. J.Katila started from 25th position and was even held up in the 1st turn incident (partially caused by his father, who started ahead), but with higher pace and a bit shorter pitstop the finn rallied up to 2nd position in finish, finishing just over 5 seconds behind race winner - 18th top5 finish earned for the 6-time RTFR XL race winner. Isaac started from even lower position - 30th, and also he was held up by same incident, but also improved lots of positions during the race to finish 3rd in his 1st ever started RTFR XL - interestingly his 31st position in qualifying is 1 position worse than the only previous attempt. The fastest driver in race (regarding single best laptime) was Lagooga, who scored his 6th fastest lap of the race (tied 4th most), but also his story is similar (low effort qualifying, held up in 1st turn) which led him to 4th place finish, adding 11th top5 finish to his achievements. R.Kardol did much more effort in qualifying as he put himself on outside of front row, however his race performance wasn't strong enough for higher position than the bottom position of top5, scoring his 54th top5 finish - that makes drivers from 5 different countries in the top5.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Both XRR and KY GP Long with Boothy chicane have been used twice before but not in combination of each other. One of these XRR races and one of the races in KY3B were won by 2nd place finisher of the latest race J.Katila, while the 1st of KY3B races was won by Gábor - and that was his 1st ever RTFR XL race win (46th RTFR XL - BF1@KY3B).

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
XRR's fuel tank was too small for 340km and tyres could not really endure full race, so everyone, who run further than half distance, pitted for both tyre change and refuelling. Ayoub was the latest pitter on lap 35, so probably the need for least amount put him on top of the shortest pitstop chart - 16.41 seconds pitstop. Could have been much higher position if he would not lose connection with less than 2 laps to go, so the maroccan is classified just 23rd.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
With progress of 27 positions, Isaac gained the most positions during the race - 30th to 3rd, which is 2 positions better than his teammate's effort, who started just ahead of him and finished right behind him.

VOD at Youtube:

After the enduring 100 minutes of racing, RTFR will return back to it's basics on coming tuesday - just a simple 30min + 1 lap race is coming up, bringing an odd mix - race spec car with road tyres on track type the car never actually saw during it's original days. As always more details will be revealed in official announcement this weekend. In 2 weeks time RTFR server will be handed over to RandomCar and it's round 4 in Westhill, while also next RTFR XL in less than 4 weeks time will be run in Westhill - the fastest LFS car BF1 has been selected to be run in soon to be official LFS configuration, however until it's published, we will have to use open config mode for Westhill International without chicane.

After 145 normal distance races,on 24th january of 2017 RTFR saw it's very first longer version under the name RTFR XL - run with crowd's favourite XFG in (back then) just 2 years old new Westhill National reversed. The race was won by Mikke representing Air Attack team,interestingly he won also 2nd RTFR XL and no more. Now after 8 years and almost 4 months 99 races have been completed and in latest race the overall race distance exceeded 20 thousand kilometers,completing almost 4600 laps.

Since 2019 the WCL team has offered sponsorship,creating yearly championship standings - 4 different drivers have finished the season as standings winners,2 of them twice. Since 2020 we have our own forum section making it easier to check past results as each race has it's own thread and since 2021 races have been streamed live by SimBroadcasts.tv creating additional promotion to the event,boasting attendace by ~70% on average.

A total of 35 differen cars have been used,15 of them just once while FZR have seen already 8 races. The event has visited all 9 LFS environments,however both environments without actual racetracks were visited just once. 56 different track configurations have been used with 2 being run 5 times - Aston North reversed and South City's longest standard config named City Long,while also other direction of these configurations have been selected 3 times.

407 different drivers from 50 different countries have participated through these 99 events,however 36 of them never started and 140 - never been classified as finished by completing at least half of the 75 minutes race. 159 drivers finished in top10 at least once,101 - in top5. There have been 32 different race winners,14 of them being able to win just a single race. 6 racers have won at least 5 races while half of them managed to score even a double figure amount of race wins,all of them representing same team. 27 drivers scored pole position,31 were able to set a fastest lap during a race. 57 drivers have led at least 1 lap,13 of them have led at least 100 laps,2 going past even 500 laps.

In this special 100th RTFR XL race the race distance has been increased to 100 minutes (as always - lapcount calculated to minimum amount to exceed the nominal race time) and to award the drivers for efforts,also points count will be increased by 1/3 - using usual system everyone's points will be calculated like this: scored points*4/3 - rounding up/down using classic method (0.5 and more means rounding up,less than 0.5 means rounding down).

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time,which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

A car class similar to LFS GT3 class from old times seems to be popular also in the newer times with car mods available. Plenty of grip,decent aerodynamic assistance,rather low weight and 300 horsepower engine - properties that makes the racing relativelly easy,which automatically attract more drivers. The 356th RTFR is the first for over one year to have 40 or more drivers participating,however 4 of them did not attempt to start the race. Many drivers of course increase chance for incidents and this race wasn't spared from those - exiting 1st turn,several cars collided,involving several others,however most kept running - with 34 classified finishers,it's a repeated highest number in almost 3 years time.

Late in qualifying session,Gábor found the missing few hundredths of second to beat the provisional polesitter by the smallest of margins possible in LFS - 0.01s,scoring his 40th RTFR pole position from 107 qualifying sessions. After a little shuffles with 2 drivers in the 1st lap,the hungarian settled in the leading position,keeping in for whole race to score his 42nd RTFR race win,taking also the 39th fastest lap and 79th top5 finish. Despite starting also from front row and leading few hundred meters in 1st lap,Lagooga had to work hard to regain his 2nd position - that's 22nd top5 finish in his stats. Also Suforr led the race for short while,but eventually could not follow the race leader and getting involved into struggle for 2nd position put him down to his original 3rd position,which is his 6th top5 finish. Also 4th place finisher MousemanLV finished in same position he started,improving his best result by a position with the 2nd top5 finish,Adam had a weak qualifying,but was able to climb up plenty of positions to finish on tale end of top5,which is his 7th of top5 finishes.
