Quote from Bob Smith :Scawen is known to be working hard still on tyre physics. He might not be putting in the big hours he did at the start of this project, but then why should he? It's clearly not ideal to go so long without an update, but Scawen is commited to tyres, and at least when it's updated, he hopefully won't have to go back to it for a long time.

What I find more worrying is why we couldn't of had at least content patches in the meantime. Sure Rockingham, Scirocco and other surprises have to wait, but the existing models and textures could have been polished to a shine by now. So the question is either, why couldn't they be released, or why haven't they been done? We've had nice updates to tracks and interiors before, why can't we again to tide over the community until Scawen has something for us?

i don't mean to stir the pot, but aren't you a beta tester?

Quote from Bean0 :I have also thought about this, and think it could be damage related.

Scawen already stated somewhere that break-off wings are planned for single seaters, so we could hope that tintops would also get some parts that could fall off (bumpers, bonnet etc). This would of course mean that the models would need to be redone to show whatever is behind/under the removable parts.

It would seem rather pointless to do work on updating the current models if they are to be replaced.

best theory i've seen so far.

there used to be an extension for firefox 2 called fasterfox that did these settings... but when firefox 3 came out, they didn't upgrade the extension because they said firefox's settings changed from the slower firefox 2 defaults.

Quote from JasonJ :What I really dont get is people whining about slower cars in a multiclass server. There is a reminder every few minutes to **ck off to the GTR server if you can't deal with it. So DEAL or gtfo. FN simple.

and what about the people driving the road cars? it's not always about the fast cars being impeded by the slow cars... i'm talking about the fast cars plowing through the slow cars because they can't be bothered to pass like a normal person. multiclass racing is one thing, but when the cars vary by so much, things can get a little dangerous. that's all i'm saying.

Quote from TehPaws3D :I don't understand.. It's not about who can get there the fastest it's the fastest & safest. Every class can have a race with their own class, It's how Cargame.nl is set up, You race your own class. It doesn't matter if you become first in a XFG vs a FZR and a few UFR, You don't get any points as you are in a separate race, Theoretically speaking.

i just feel that having more cars on track than needed is a safety hazard, especially if they're slower and lighter...

think about it... in an accident between a 3000lb GTR going 250km/h vs a 1000lb LX going 0km/h... who's going to win? the LX driver would probably be dead.

are you sure that's a resistor and not a diode or a capacitor?

uF usually refers to capacitance, and i don't think resistors care about that.

edit: bah, you got to it first.

Quote from Hotdogxx60 :It seems that the Mazda is the first that people buy, but you don't have much coin left out of $20,000.

Would it be better to go for an old banger to start with and chuck a few upgrades on it?

You could start with a WRX STi for $10,700 from what I could see on the video and option it up for some more horses.

i think that's a difference of opinion... i've done both in my GT4 careers, and still maxed out my garages.

i don't think he noticed until he tried to stand up, you can see him put his hand down where his wallet once was, but then the video cuts out.

still kinda funny though... looks like massa enjoyed it more than alonso.

Quote from TehPaws3D :Wow, I completely missed your point, I can start in the back of a grid (So I avoid T1 destruction derby mode) and pass most of the XFR's at least before lap 3/4 on Kyoto GP, Not everyone needs to back off, There should be a starting system that starts classes by themselves, Like GTR, Gets a 5 second head start against LX, LX can be mixed with TBO for fairness, Then NGT, Each one having a 5 second lead.

i don't get why each class can't race on it's own... it would solve a lot of those "my car is faster than yours" problems...

Quote from DejaVu :Really disappointed that the air con dial isn't totally circular, totally kills the immersion factor for me. Don't know whether I can enjoy the game fully in cockpit view knowing that dial isn't modelled correctly...

it is round, it looks like one of those knobs that has dimples so you can grab the knob easily without your butterfingers slipping...

rb4 differentials

i guess this would apply to the fxr too, also being an awd...

i've been playing around with the rb4 again... possibly in early prep for a tbo league...

does anyone know if there is an "optimal" configuration for the drivetrain? some setups i've seen use double locked diff, some use front open diff, and not to mention the center diff + torque split... i never know how to set all of it right.

the setup i'm attaching works good most of the time, but i've noticed that if i don't get the lap right (or right enough), it either loses traction exiting corners, or understeers hard. i think it's the open front diff, but bleh.

i'm looking for something that should work on most tracks, but should also be a legitimate configuration, unlike double locked diffs...

the rest of the settings i don't care about, i'm more concerned about the diffs... (i know the gear ratio is slightly out of whack)

any suggestions, or tips? thanks

that killed TDU for me as well.

Quote from MAGGOT :Isn't there any out where you are? Grocery Gateway operates near me. Unfortunately they use Longo's... I prefer the Loblaws family of stores (better deli meats and PC foods!)

to be honest, i've never actually looked into it. a couple years ago i saw some ads for fridges that you can do all that stuff from, but i'm not sure how well they sell.

and what's wrong with longos? i'd rather go there than sobeys or fortinos... most of the good PC items are pre-made and packed with salt anyways. then again, maybe i'm biased... i used to live right across the street from a longos.

self-checkouts suck... but so does bagging your own groceries... by the time i get everything back into the cart, they probably could have served three other people... and then there's the stores with 15 checkouts, and only two of them are open...

i can't wait until online grocery shopping takes off in canada.

so hulkenberg gets the boot from williams, and now it looks like bottas might get shafted by some gp2 guy...

http://planetf1.com/news/3213/ ... hing-for-a-Williams-drive

Quote from some commenter :First of all Maldonado didn't even get a run on option tires. The team is using him to test the car, so the car is not set up for setting fast times (according to the f1 interview). Secondly, Maldonado drove 1.5 seconds faster than the other Williams tester.

i'm confused here... is this guy running his mouth, or did that actually happen? if so, then how come he isn't the tester instead of (insert pre-emptive no-offense here) bottas?

one thing i can think of that you might be missing...

control panel > region and language settings > languages tab

there's two check boxes for east-asian languages and right-to-left support...

if that doesn't help, i'm not sure, but what you're looking for would be in that dialog though.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Do you really think having updates will gather 24/7 online server admins, professional drivers who can drive more than 5% of the game's content, or will somehow give you a few millions dollars so you can stop working and get enough time to get yourself involved in a team/leagues? Hmm...

where did i say that?

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :I don't think it's in Scavier's plans to suppress 3rd party servers to official ones or do anything I mentionned above, therefore I belive you should just leave the game and search for something else, because you'll be disappointed of the upcoming update.

oh, you mean like gran turismo 5?
