Quote from Bose321 :Can you really send them with the HDD out? That would be a great solution...

if not, swap it with a blank drive, or even a dead drive...

i haven't done this in a while, but don't you have to add it to the domain first, before choosing where it resides in AD?

edit: actually, i should ask, where do you see that error, exchange or AD?

Quote from DevilDare :So yeah. You just googled it and blindly agree with him even though (I guess) you never played the game yourself?

Also, SC1 is not SC2 as fuse already said.

actually, i have played the original starcraft. and whether you think they're not the same, the gameplay is.

if you want a real example, okay.

what is the deal with resources? how does gas and crystals make buildings? and i don't see the point in using units to gather those resources and process them. in total annihilation, you plop down a solar collector and a metal extractor. metal and energy at least makes sense.

whether or not they fixed some of the mechanics (ie: selecting multiple units and assigning squads; firing radii, elevation and line-of-sight; not being able to deselect units; multiplayer installs with regards to cd verification; etc etc), starcraft is the same game it was in the mid-to-late 90's.

just in the same way i can say that TA:spring is the same game, the only difference is the graphics engine and a few other improvements.

but yeah, "i've never played an RTS before and i don't know two shits about what i'm talking about... again."

Quote from DevilDare :Example given? Or are you just quoting some random guy from a blog that you googled?

did you even read it? there's 40 reasons right there... most of which i can agree with. except for the one about AI movement paths, TA sucks in that regard too.

i was going to post this in irc, but meh.

http://www.angelfire.com/rant/tauwisdom/anon1.html

i'm not really sure why people find starcraft so appealing, when it has many gameplay and mechanics flaws.

Quote from kimd41 :I'm not saying videos of physics or anything because a lot can change, but maybe announce another S3 content. The "secret development" of everything just doesn't work and makes the game look dead.

i think at this point most of us have accepted that words are just words, and when the patch comes, it will. or it won't. frankly, i stopped caring, myself. if all s3 is, is rockingham (in only one direction), the vws, and a possible mystery car (whatever that could be), it won't be as big as s2 was. i know i won't be upgrading my account when it hits.

Quote from CodieMorgan :Santa will come to your house at 2AM in his Scirroco... do burnouts in your yard while holding the hooter in and making a ruckus. Additionally he wil knock down your mailbox and spill your trash can.

He will say "Here is MY Scirroco! Bitch!"... and he will drive off into the night yelling "NO NEED FOR RUDOLF... NO NEED FOR RUDOLF"!

you sure that'll be santa?

Quote from aroX123 :put Vettel in a Mclaren for a year and Button/Hamilton would've destroyed him.

i hope the FIA tears down the redbull cars at the end of the season to see if they're cheating somehow... but i doubt that'll ever happen.

might as well check coolant while you're at it. not because it's related, but because i know a few people who beat the piss out of their cars and they all seem to die with cooling related problems (overheating, head gaskets, etc).

I couldn't take any decent enough pictures, but here's one from the internet.

The bolt face is stamped with "SV 8.8". If that means anything.

If you need measurements, let me know.

i tried listening to shrillex once, but their songs are f*cked. they start off all nice and chiptune-y, and then turn into "someone call 911" screamo.

the link above is rather vague as well... that could also apply to him leaving the company.

but seeing the news on slashdot and androidcentral, it seems to be true.

strange that it happened the day after they showcased the iphone 4s.

Quote from spankmeyer :You actually don't need a MIDI interface or other input device next to mouse and keyboard to make sounds happen. You can just click notes on a grid and you can lock them to a beat so everything is perfectly synced.

that's a pain in the ass.

check this guy out... he's one of my favourite beat makers on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSE34seiABI

he's using reason, a mpc and a mini keyboard for inputs. you don't necessarily have to chop samples (depending on your creativity), but he shows the initial sample, and lays down the chops. you don't see him lay down the drum beat (it might be a drum machine, but i doubt it), but you do get to hear the final product.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxt3-_8omrY

this guy also uses reason. the video is a little old now, but it should still get the idea across (this one shows the drum beat too, 808/snare). he had a website full of free beats, but it looks like he took them all down, i'm guessing he got big enough that he didn't need to sell them online.

edit: omg lol, he made a new video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHj4sF2__kw

either way, spend a couple weeks on youtube, fiddle around with the software, and don't forget to post some of your work here for our critiques.

i'd love to get into making music, but i don't have a decent enough computer, nor the room for a "studio" setup.

heh, i remember trying one of the initial d games in an arcade. IIRC, it was faster to drive normally than drift.
