Quote from speed1230 :Why is everyone's PS3 starting to die?

they're probably getting their first real use after purchase...

(opens can of worms)

i wanted to buy a ps3 when they first came out, but gt5 was the only game i was interested in... LBP was of no interest to me, and all the other "good" games are probably on XBL. what other PS3-only games are there?

Quote from dawesdust_12 :This is bad.

My Jetta has a higher displacement than those F1 engines.

and probably weighs twice as much.

good, now they can stop pedalling to save fuel because they're too worried about aerodynamics to install bigger gas tanks.

Quote :And then if you start skipping a race here and there it can quickly become a habit and it can snowball in terms of the TV ratings

not any more than determining which weeks to run races on... every other week is okay, but when they start doing 2 and 4 week breaks, how else do they expect people to keep paying attention?

Quote :At some point, it starts to become tiresome.

sounds like somebody has lost the need for speed.

if you have one of those realtek sound cards with srs premium sound, you probably won't be able to do much about it unless you turn srs off, but then you lose all depth and volume to your sound.

but if this was the case, you'd probably have noticed it already with lfs and any other application that generates sound. at least it's only temporary.

consistent?

what is your connection like? are you using wireless by any chance?

no, the cpw update was the only thing we've seen in months.

going back to page one for a second...

Quote :SIU director Ian Scott concluded that while there was “reasonable ground” to believe excessive force was used, they were unable to tell which officer caused his injuries.

sometimes i wonder why i read the newspaper...

Quote :Police have learned the identities of two young men from the New York City area who allegedly committed the greatest amounts of damage during the G20 summit in Toronto in June and smashed a window at police headquarters, said the lead investigator with the squad investigating acts of vandalism at the protests.

oh, so they're allowed to hunt unknown people down, but the public can't do the exact opposite? i swear, we need a civil war or something.

Quote from Bob Smith :The road I live on is appalling, massive tramlining where everyone drives in the same place, car is all over the place trying to drive in a straight line, because the grooves in the snow are a bit bendy.

you've never been to hamilton... we don't even need snow and our roads do that... damned buses keep warping the tarmac.

you'll probably have to do it from inside windows...

i think norton ghost works in a PE environment now, so it might work for you.

and on the lfs side i get the "password doesn't match multiplayer admin password", but i triple checked it, and it does.

so i blanked out the password in lfs and ran it again with the same options...

Quote from patrese :Is there a chatlog for http://www.lfsworld.net/irc/ ?
Apparenlty there was a convo last night regarding the release of this long awaited patch with one of the developers.
He must have been either taking the piss or there is nothing to look forward to this christmas....more like next.
I see a shitstorm brewing.

no, there isn't a log, unless people log it themselves...

as for a supposed conversation, i haven't seen victor online in a few weeks (but we have exchanged emails)... and i've never seen scawen or eric online in ~2 years, so i would have to imagine that this conversation never took place.

whether the devs are "taking the piss"... i think the recent anti-cheat update shows us that they're working on it, regardless of whether they are saying anything to us about it. personally, that's enough to keep me at bay for a couple more months.

Quote from TehPaws3D :Combofix isn't for anyone to pick up and use, You have to be at least a expert or intermediate user to use that.

i never had any problems using it in the past... only thing i remember is that it complains that my AV is still running, and then terminates it.

but i only use it when SAK or RR doesn't work.

if MBAM can't get it, give sophos anti-rootkit or rootkit revealer a try...

edit: or maybe even combofix.

Quote from Racer X NZ :do standard criminals have the right to " exercised their right to not be interviewed for the investigation"

actually, yes. but it depends on the situation... i've heard of several incidents recently where people were being questioned by the police and they stayed mum and had no choice but to let them go.

but on the flip side, it could also put you in the slammer for obstructing a peace officer.

i guess the unfairness can work both ways.

i'm not laughing at bernie here, but i'm laughing at the newspaper...

i find it funny that they would use the word "battered" on the same page as a big picture of bernie's purple face...

sucks to be him though, i'm sure he'll be fine for next year.

you shouldn't need to do anything than set up port forwarding for the port LFS is using...

sounds like b-spec got a massive improvement from gt4... those 1-5 settings were pretty useless... most people would just set it to 5 and walk away for a couple hours...

i believe the car alarm mod is just an insim application, so it doesn't matter where you put it, as long as you configure it properly.
