Talk about freezing, I washed my car yesterday, and my car stays in a car port over night. This morning I couldn't open the left rear door
First time that happened to me, weird thing was that all the other doors could be opened no problemo.
Buildings give off heat, so park close to one when it's freezing. With the driver side facing the building. I learned this through having a frozen lock several times, swearing, heating up the key, adding stuff to clear the ice from the lock and THEN checking the passenger side door, which was fine
Quote from The General Lee :An absolute stunner robt So, is this a restoration project? More info please!

Agreed. I'd love to see some progress on the Capri. Looks like a right stealthy beast.

Nice drifting there Lol screw the ones that said Ebrake drifting wasnt fun/cool
Glad u guys like the capri, not so much a restoration project, more touching up before i can afford to get it on the road.
Its a 1986 model, only 62,000 on the clock (works out 3,000miles a year) been sat for the last 8 years in a garage till i bought it. then im just sorting out what needs doing for the MOT and getting it on the road. Looking at fitting an EFi and electronic ignition system to it at some point, just hard to get all the parts. needs a tubular exhaust manifold too, the cast one holds back about 3-6bhp minimum! If i changed to a K&N airfilter, tubular manifold, EFi system and head, electric fan (as opposed to viscous) i should be getting about a 10-20% bhp increase
Looking at getting 15" revolution RFX alloys too at some point. it does need a respray as some of the paint is gone down to primer, but one of my uncles is a body specialist and has a compressor, so i shall get that sorted in the summer! With the prices the capri's are making now ive made a profit just by letting it sit there, barely any rust on it, nothing noticeable!
Talking of the freezing, my boot is frozen unlocked and the door wouldnt shut when my friend drove it down the field, she almost took the door off on a trampoline as it swung open

If you got any more questions let me know

haha cheers, yeh in that vid i was learning handbrake entries as i learnt to do small scando and clutch kick entries first, learning the handbrake has allowed me to build up speed and confidence ready to go back to scando entries, but at higher speeds with more confidence.
I like that Capri! I had a 1983 Mercury Capri RS Turbo, loved it! It was my first car, got it back in '00, drove it until '05, gave it to a friend when I bought my Mustang, and I regret it!!! I miss that car so much, it was a great sleeper, nobody ever saw it comin.
Yours is a bit different, but better IMO, those are a far superior model. This last summer someone had one just likes yours with a Mach 460 engine, supercharged, at the race track, he was running high 9's in the quarter mile, he actually won first place that day, in race and in show!
One bad ass skyline!

Here's mine:

92' Toyota Celica ST185 All-Trac

Still pretty much stock except of two sets of new wheels.

Nice to know someone knows the joys of a capri lol yeah, thats the great thing about the engine bay, anything fits! V8 are quite a common changeover.

Your 1986 Capri is significantly different than our 1986 Capri (talking US version, not mine as I don't have one.....

1979 - 1986 Mercury Capri

Your's is more 1970 - 1977

Get that thing restored to look like this link. Your bodystyle is definitely a sweet looking ride....

Sweet looking '77 Capri (too large to post with img tags)
looks more like an opel manta! they did do my "version" of capri in the states, just with larger bumpers. never seen that capri before. and the pic you posted is the mk1 model 69-70 something, mines a mk3 (well, mk2 series 3 if u want to be picky)
My beast with new shoes!

Looking nice there

I have only seen pictures on your MSN, so nice to see a high-res picture

Do you have a journal or anything on this car?

Is this still the same one you've always had, I know you were getting a second one in for part or something.
Just picked up my 04 plate Volvo S40 T5 SE Auto tonight. Fantastic so far, really quiet, pretty quick and feels solidly put together. Hopefully get a few pics up tomorrow.

Quote from robt :Right, got the pics on the pc now! Managed to get he engine going again on saturday. Was a nice suprise to see the field had the grass cut.....by the sheep better then a lawnmower thats for sure! changed the voltage regulator, seems the fuel sender is naff so need to do that next time. Suprisingly it hasnt rusted! So thats another good point. my friend decided to hoover the car out, wouldnt let anyone help, (not that i mind, free clean, no work ) Then replaces the rear lights with some tinted lenses. Washed the car, was so cold by 4PM that the water was freezing as it ran off the car not sure how it is now. made the foam spoiler rock solid though heres a few updated pics.

Nice Capri! I just love those cars. It just needs some loving hands.
