Superkarts round the Isle of Man in the wet - WOOOAH! I have it on good authority (more than just the youtube comment) that the karts can reach 170 (they're 250E's) and are getting around 130 round that track. I'm assuming that's in kph.

I'd love to have a go! Pity they're no longer racing there because of this.

That´s MPH. At least if these are the Super Race Karts. They go to over 300km/h on a permanent Racetrack and have 0-100 (km/h) times of under 3 Seconds. Saw them several times on the Nurburgring and Lausitzring. At the Lausitzring they had the same Topspeed on the straights as in the wet. At the same time there was a Race of the Kumho GT Series. And the Carts where way faster (on the straights and on the whole track... especially in the wet).
I don't know what engine was in the kart in the video, but top class superkarts (250cc twins) can do a top speed of 175+ mph, 0-60 in about 3 seconds and a 9 second 1/4 mile.
:faint2:

Cheers for the info. That's some serious speed with such high risk/little protection - like the TT races! I love the way some of the bumps throw the driver's foot off the brake pedal

Faaast!
Holy shizzle.......
Does anyone have a really high quality onboard TT video? Looking for one of the whole track if possible...
Hi ppl. More videos from Vila Real. This is going to be the 3rd year of racing after years of no racing because a serious crash resulting espectators death

Anyway here is some video from last year, national cup:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsPhqhv1WOQ

And older stuff, original layout with 7.2 km lenght (now half circuit is gone, only 4.1 km)

...this years will never come back

Now in 2009, FIA historic racing was anounced (calendar: http://www.gtc-tc.com/en/events-2009/index.html)
but looks like FIA already excluded this race Damn FIA
Anybody got any track-day video of a typical american car from early 80's? I've always wanted to see how such a car would drive in track-day conditions (i know it will be propably crap... but driving crap is a challenge! ).

Thanks dude! I had already found another link thats why deleted my message
Nice vid, I'd love the Focus RS if it was RWD or 4WD, and had 100 more hp perhaps.

I'd love to have a go on that course at Millbrook.
This happened today and is pretty amazing for DTM standards. The race are usually more boring than F1.

Those were probably the best last 10 laps of a DTM race since ages. Too bad Merc won in the end.

Ignore the crappy techno shit.
I was just saying to Gerdoner how good the DTM was today

Well, anyway, the race was only good because Scheider was extremely slow at the end of the race. But in the end, I'm quite glad, because for the first time since a while we had some real touring car action on the DTM.

Oh, and by the way, I was going to post something from the gold ol' days(DTM @ the Ring:Eyecrazy::banana but I realise that it got removed from younoob

I love the ToCA BTCC series like Alan Menu in the Renault Laguna days. Awesome video man!!! That Audi driver seemed ltoo impatient. and payed for that later on. He didn't anticipate the corners approaching, was late on braking, and took corners either too shallow or too wide, no consistency.

lol impatience is the #1 cause of crashes in racing, not inexperience.

He was ill and had a high temperature of 38,5 degrees. That's probably why he couldn't concentrate that good anymore after 75 laps on that track.
