Quote from The Moose :Laughable comments.

Menus...perfectly functional

Configuration... Easier to configure than LFS

Install.. Don't understand your comment in the slightest to be honest. Click install and install it. Whats the problem?

For some reasons I have to agree with most of the things you call "Laughable". The menu is at this point way more complicated than it should be. For instance the whole car / track selection is not something I would call fast to use. Clicking through scroll lists to select something you want ( especially if you only have access to demo content you can click through lots of stuff and only see a locked symbol) annoying.

As far as I haven been told the way to set the wheel up is also used in iPaying but clicking to 10 menus saying turn wheel left, center, right etc is compared to the lfs way rather complicated.

And I'm not even starting about where to find what options (like changing the FF settings which I would never expect to find in the CAR setup garage).

Look like LFS wants you to use only FF or Opera, why I have to use them, if they are using twice more memory and slower.

same for this list? http://www.lfsworld.net/hostjointest.php

Quote from Jakg :Fair enough then, tell me where it was awful compared to 7. No, that's not a "it felt bad", "my mate said it was shit". I'm asking for a genuine reason. I ask this question at work _ALL_ the time and *no-one* has an answer.

I will admit, 7 is snappier, and that UAC is handled a little better (but then again - I turn it off). Snap is also useful.

I would never recommend Vista (now), but I certainly wouldn't slag it off massively. XP was a very capable OS and for some things i'd still recommend it - but for your average desktop user, 7 is better.

Don't ask my why but I couldn't print duplex with Vista. Vista took 2 mins to start, 7 does it in 45 secs. I can use 7 right after I see the desktop and not wait another 15 secs for everything being loaded. 7 needs less space (ram and hdd).

Don't get me wrong, 7 is as annoying to use in some parts as vista was, but it's an (big) improvement (for me).

EDIT:
Also my notebooks battery lasts around 20 mins longer under 7 then it did under vista.

Quote from garph :Don't think that's needed. Would have thought its only what OS you run LFS under thats the important bit.

Depens on the statistic to be done. if it's about quantity of the used systems it does make a difference.

And for the record: I run lfs on both systems on a regular basis.

I was just using the smaller version, but it didn't create any startmenu entry for me nor did it create a desktop shortcut.

Running w7 64bit.

EDIT:
I guess you are also making the setup language selectable in the later versions?

EDIT2:
I was wrong, it did create the menu entry and shortcut in my Administrator account (I'm running a restricted user). Would be nice if that was selectable too.

Quote from dekojester :Note: You do Not have to have confirmed yet to take part in Q1.

You can do this session and not 2, or do #2 and skip #1. Or you can do both #1 and #2. If you miss Both, you don't get to race.

Please have a representative in IRC. The IRC rule will be enforced.

Quote from Norbi :#39 is failing to let us go for several laps, several times now while they are having blue flag. And even showing like intention of letting us go but eventually dont, causing contact, damage and time loss.
Lap 141 for example.

The attempted of a passing maneuver is close to a divebomb for the #41 car as the attempted their pass from a long distance.

You were not close enough.

Protest denied.

Quote from CSF :• Lap 43 (GT2)/sec 1/ time dunno
• 35 Sonicrealms GT2 and 07 Inferno

We came out of the pits inferno got alongside into T3 and drove as if we wern't there turning in for the apex of T3 destroying our car.

#07 tries to pass #35 on the outside in t2, causing a contact between both cars. #01 gives #35 a tap on the rear causing #35 and 07 to spin. 01 gets then also a push on the rear by #02 causing both cars the right side of the track

35 gets a final push from the upcomming car #45

Intial trouble starts with the contact of #07 and #35, both cars being under a blue flag.

DT for #07 for causing a crash
Warning to #07 and #35 to not ignore the blue flags.

Quote from joshdifabio :Lap 2 (1st racing lap)
#32 and #41
Lap 2 (why again?), sector 1, turns 1 and 2

#41 Norbi gets out of shape in t1 and tags my back end when I'm clearly gonna take 2nd place, takes advantage of that to take my position. In turn 2 he then squeezes me into the wall when I've plenty of overlap. Maybe it's a racing incident but imo it's not fair for him to take a position by t-boning me,

Warning to #41 for hard driving.
