Quote from Billeh :Shame it wasnt the full package otherwise i might have gone for it thanks for the heads up

What more do you want? I liked Nero a lot in the past, but the last versions are much to bloated. I don't know what they have left out but if you can burn images and dvd/cd's then this is enough. I don't want all the other stuff.

Offcourse he wants to race when he is able too. It's the only right thing for him to say. But he won't be able to race.

Maybe you should read your own post what i reacted on. You were talking about modeling, not how it rides

Quote from al heeley :Am I the only one to find the MRT almost impossible to control in S2? It's so twitchy, maybe my skill is not up to it, but I could get half decent times round South City in the MRT in S1, I'm lucky to do 2 consecutive clean laps now!

Anyone else have problems controlling this vehicle? (with ff wheel)

It's actually a great car to get to know the tracks. In the MRT you will learn the difference between curbstones and curbstones very fast because it won't forgive you if they are to high. It's also great to learn how to catch the car when it starts to spin when you go over the limit. Because of the small wheelbase you have to react very fast when that happens but with the low speeds of the car it's doable.
Quote from tristancliffe :Scawen has already considered it, but won't put them in a public release until he's been able to model them accurately. That means chassis flex. And Scawen hasn't yet coded chassis flexing into LFS.

It's on his wish list though, and has been for 4 or 5 years at least (probably much longer).

I don't know, if they made an MRT5 with one gear, less plastic and big bumpers around it i would believe it is a kart.

Actually, that is what i like about it. Otherwise it would consume to much time.

Does anyone still play this? I now have the 2009 Petersbild 386 with almost 300 miles driven on it (one time overhauled, second one is on it's way). I only need the Legendary game activity achievement and then I have them all for the USA.

The lisence I buy people is either because I find it funny at that time, and sometimes I blame the reason that I am drunk, but at other times it's because it's a person so speciall enough he deserves one. Lerts is one fine example, I bought that lad a lisence because he was wacko, and I canot remember last time I laughed so hard I cried by reading a text, and for the record, that was the wormhole racing part that made me cry and laugh for like 20 minutes.

So, sure, I will give out more lisences in the future, but probally either by some special occasion, or a competition, aswell that I don't have money to throw on the fire, so LFS does not get first prior on that But if I can give someone a fun opertunity by giving a little amount (it's around the price as 2 6-packs of beer here in Norway, if not less) of money, sure why not?
But there will be more, but spamming my inbox doesn't help

Oh and Franky, the setup you sent me yesterday was as usefull as making out with my left hand.

Don't say that then. Say it's the price of 12 packs of milk or something

Quote from SamH :People are assuming that, since S1 cost £12, and then S2 cost an extra £12, that S3 will again be £12.

That *may or may not* be true, but either way it hasn't been stated by the developers. It's purely an assumption by the community.

Though it seems like a reasonable assumption, it isn't reasonable at all because we don't know what S3 will contain, what it will be capable of, what WE will be able to do with it etc. Given this, it's actually pretty daft to state that it will cost £12. It's daft to even bother guessing at a number. The only thing we can safely assume is that S3, when it comes, will be purposefully priced to offer good value for money - one thing that is certainly a constant in LFS.

As for the release of S3, nobody knows. In the community we're guessing (and it's purely guesswork) that S2 is going to be another year or two before it's complete. Once S2 is complete, we assume that then, and only then, the devs will begin work on S3.

We assume a lot We don't even know if there will come an S3. We only assume that because we heard there are 3 stages years ago.

Quote from amp88 :The tyres the XRG is fitted with are too grippy and the suspension is so indefinitely adjustable it's more like a race car than a bog standard road car. The XRG is not a 'realistic' car, as such. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the physics/suspension/tyre modelling in LFS is inaccurate, it just means that some of the values and parameters are out.

I think that those options will be more limited with the next patch, since the VW will introduce limited setups and they want to keep everything as realistic ass possible.

I think races will be more fun too, since it's a beginner car. I think all the S1 roadcars should have limited setups.

It's difficult indeed. With some practise i can now drive and chat, but the problem is I also brush my teeth and shave while racing. But if I push the buttons on the keyboard with the back of my toothbrush i can manage it.

Quote from Intrepid :You comparing two different things. Mod teams work on a voluntary basis. There is rarely any financial incentive nor a large commitment other than free time. LFS is a different kettle of fish as Scawen and co have to actually feed themselves through this project.

I find it quite funny how people can come on here (especially demo users) criticising the development of LFS when they themselves don't have the balls to go and do it themselves. And that means properly, not doing mods on a Sunday afternoon!

I, in the past, have fallen victim to this trait. I spent a large amount of time criticising iRacing and its payment plan, until it dawned on me what a stupid prick I was being. Who am I to complain? I get ALL the benefits from these projects with minimal commitment or investment.

It is a bizarre situation we find ourselves in when people that have paid £20 or so for a product that is more than worth it start spouting insults to the developers. The deep hypocrisy of these people is that if they don't like the work rate of LFS developers won't don't they start their own project!?

True. Most people think they act out of love for the game, untill they understand they act like a prick. Often that never happens.
