Quote from Karoti :That isn't speed... it's the finishing order, the LX6 certainly hasn't got the legs of the FZ5 for instance, but will always beat it.

It depends on the track. On high speed tracks (example: oval) the car with the higher top-speed will wil.

How can you say the order is wrong if you don't know how they are sorted? You can sort them alfabeticly, on weight, color, passenger seats etc).

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Eh, I haven't done it recently, but I'll wager that if you put one of Bob's road setups on a XFG and drive it at road speeds (i.e., not flooring it, maxing out at 70mph and taking the corners reasonably) it won't be that loose at all.

Maybe not for an American car

I've lost count but +1 from me for road cars. Thing is you don't know what the temps are around the circuit and on the asfalt (nothing like that is implemented)

Quote from spacedskunk :Mouse buttons = Digital (Either on or off)
Pedals = Analogue (Progressive on position of Axis)

So yea, if you press the Throttle pedal down half way, you'll get 50% throttle...

And if you push your pedal to the plastic you'll get 100%

Quote from tristancliffe :Funny how engine damage isn't displayed in a real car either, yet people manage.

-1 for more silly arcade displays.

That's true but it would be cool if you could see it after the race. Normaly your pitcrew/engineers could tell you after the race that the car doesn't like your drivingstyle.

Was FF on in the game as wel? Because it's off on default (don't know why, maybe because they expect people to have old cheap wheels).

Quote from aroX123 :I just took some ai and took like max qual time and they gave up after 2 min or so

That's not an Y18 bug. AI does that in Y ass well. I don't really think it is a problem, it's kind of pointless to let AI qualify.

Quote from JJ72 :hehh...TOCA and DIRT were semi-sims yeah right.................

Toca was ok for it's time, i played it a lot 10 years ago. I don't like the Dirt physics. It just feels wrong, even for an arcade racer.

I think only reason lizardfolk thinks Dirt is different of Need for Speed is because you do have to brake for corners and stuff. But the car breaks much to fast on the sandy underground. It's not realistic at all (and the steering in the middle for cooler looks in the corners isn't helping either).

A request: Could it be made so that you can zoom into the graphs?

I can zoom in and out of the right top screen allready (with scrollwheel).

how long am i banned for

Just click the link man. First saying you don't know why and now you don't want to look it up?

BANNED: In cases of blatant wrecking or a refusal to comply with CTRA rules, admin decisions or demands, a permanent ban may be asserted. We do not permanently ban drivers unless we are convinced that allowing their participation will undermine the racing experience of other drivers or will jeopardize the integrity of the CTRA system as a whole.

Quote from DeMS :I'm rather sure, on the other side, that it's quite hard to find on a cheap fashion:
a) A one-way radio that covers the distances of your typical race track (up to 3km on small ones, a lot more than that on big tracks) on a plain, level terrain.

Some say it's not true. But if it is true, you could inform driver when he passes start/finish. That's a few 100 meters at most on most circuits.
Quote :b) A good quality headset that you can put inside your helmet without your ears hurting too much that you can hear something close to human voices from it. Add extra cash if you also want to understand them.

I doubt that. Bikers uses these for communication and i don't think the average biker is that much richer then a racer.
Quote :c) Some data collecting hardware-software system that is useful enough to tell you something you don't know so people from your pit wall can send some useful information (apart from position, which is something you should already know anyway), which includes another radio-component to send data.

Why should you always know your position anyway? If you remove it from the topright it won't always be that clear. Especially in long races where you can't know in what lap all the other racers are.
Quote :d) Someone either foolish or dedicated enough to stay on pit wall to look at the data and communicate with you in an understandable fashion, giving relevant bits and pieces of relevant information (go and find that person, it's quite hard without paying or being into a club).

What about a friend or an other racer that has his race later that day? But if the game changes the way you would like it you would have to get out of your car twice in a 3 hour race to change all the tires, fill it with gas and hammer some dents out all by yourself. I hope that day will never come

Looks like something broke, and when the car reversed the aerodynamics worked in opposite way.

That two-wheel thingy happens a lot with the mini-GTR"s. You can easily put it back on four wheels by counter steering but sometimes the result is you don't make the corner (since it happens in cornering ). The chicane on AS1 is a good place to go on two wheels without consequences.

They have a bundle over here for a PS3 with GTA4 and GT5P for 400 euros. It's really hard to not buy one, but i think i will wait. It is still a lot of money for a gameconsol. Maybe i will give myself one for christmas, i think they will be cheaper then (blueray is the most expensive part i think, and that will become cheaper now mass production can start since hddvd failed to become a standard).

Quote from ElvisArg :Yap. We are indians. We still ride horses and hunt for a living.

Or maybe you are an ignorant.

Cool. We walk on wooden shoes, live in mills and surprise our wifes with tulps over here. But in the evening we smoke pot with hookers. Always nice to see those cultural differences.

Quote from Dygear :It's not an improvement suggestion.

It is, however how the FOM (Formula One Administration) do their maps for the world feed.

So, I wonder, do you guys watch F1?

--

I am going to do the whole track set this year. So as for why I am doing this, it is going to be apart of a PHP Program for Championship Management software that I am making. I have all of the track styled in the FOM layout for LFS already. I made them for SimFIA, I am now going to release them to the public in the program.

The championship management software will use real life data from F1 as an example, so I had to also make the F1 tracks.

Yes, i do watch F1, but i still don't understand what you made. A minimap in php?
