Quote from hiroshima guy :You better be sorry for saying that. Btw those people who stay demo-ers for years and through developments are much more loyal than those who buy the game because of the Tweak

How are Demo-ers that get more cars (because you can change characteristics) for free loyal to the developers? What do they get from you?

First thing i noticed was it was almost all demo-ers that want to release it for the public and none demo-ers that do not want it released at all.

I agree with h3adbang3r here. Tweak could hurt LFS with new leaks and people not buying the game because they get cars with other characteristics for free.

Quote from xaotik :How about introducing the Ab-based Demo? Where they have to do a certain amount of crunches per day. I can already see it - "stay fit with LFS" advertised by some not-so-eloquent and totally unknown body-builder on TV.

Or we could make them fight each other (bumfights). When they knockout an other demoplayer they get 15 minutes of S2 time.

Quote from Spangler_CZE :If you want the XRT, get a licence first

Indeed. With an 12 pound S1 licence you have the XRT and extra tracks and cars. Other solution is to keep playing X.

Í think you stopped doing that because you are more relaxed and controlled now. People who just start their real live driving lessons drive like that.

Only thing that bothers me is my pulse thats sometimes hurts during races (rsi comes up sometimes )

Yeah patch Y rocks, patch X sucks

No, just kidding. Really enjoying trying to keep up with the AI on the new and improved South City Chicane.

The clutch doesn't get repairs. Maybe that's the reason why you could not leave. Damage display comes back when you start moving out of the pit (nothing new, it was that way before Y)

Isn't it possible to give the old hotlaps a different color (red for example) so everyone sees they are from an incompatible older version. When it does get beaten with a time in Y it could become black again (or they get overwritten with any time in Y, also slower times)
That way everone can deside for himselve what to do and others can still see if they can compare laptimes.
Quote from DarkTimes :Simple fact is that the cars are now no longer as fast as they were, so in my opinion the old PBs are practically meaningless, and if the hotlaps are going then the PBs should go too!

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the physics have changed that much since S2. In fact, I think there might only have been a single proper physics patch before this one, and that one only improved tyre physics and didn't really affect the overall performance of the cars over a single lap.

In real live rules and tracks change too, but they still compare them with older races (and then say why times have become slower or faster).

I red about it on a Dutch board on the 19th of august 2002. I played then with the mouse, liked it but could not get used to the the mouse and i did not have a wheel. So i stopped playing LFS.

4 years, 4 months and ten days later I bought a wheel and an S2 license. I wish i had thought of that sooner

Hmm, long way to go for me when i see tracktimes here. But i don't have a decent setup yet for this car. How fast can you guys go on default setups at BL1 and SO6?

Quote from kABLiuks :Hi,

May be its dicussed already, but still I think damage should be greater. The thing is, that especialy in Fearn Bay there ar a lot of turns, which you can cut by going even on a gras and jumping a bit. So while racing, and making such small but hard jumps for smth like 12 or 15 times suspension should get a bit of damage, or atleast if you bump hard the tyre should blow. its stil a rubber so if you land on one or two wheels on a hard surface and the tyre pressure is not big enouth the tyre deformates and can easyly be cuted in by a metal rim.

Damage is ok. Maybe there should be more bumps in the grass.

Quote from mclarenmatt :You would have to ask the dev's but i would think an LFS 2 would be more likely than S4 - you can only develop so much before you need a fresh(ish) start.

Still like i said this is one for the dev's, i don't wanna start any rumor's flying around!

What's in a name? LFS S2 is LFS 2. Just wait till it is finished and then compare S1 final with S2 final.

Maybe it's on other tracks to, but i discovered your car gets repaired when you drive into an out-of-bounds section on South City (including clutch and tires).

I'ts you. I'm just as entertained and slow as i was before with the new patch I allready got used to lifting the gas while shifting, it's not that hard and i noticed it's often enough when you just lift a little.

Wasn't there snow back then too? Or am i confusing LFS with an other game.

I saw this:

It's a button you can push with your feet. Maybe it could be used as clutch (only on/off button, so not analogue).

I can't really get used to the analog meter too, but who needs a speedometer in a racingcar anyway

Quote from thisnameistaken :If he'd stuck to playing drums in Brand X I would have no issue with him - he was very good at that, and I'm a big fan of Percy Jones. Unfortunately he decided to start singing and writing songs, which was unacceptable to the British people who have a proud pop music heritage. That is why we banished him to Switzerland.

You guys (and especially your media) seem to do that to more famous people. Your loss, Phil is a great singer and songwriter.

Quote from danowat :Personally, I think the clutch heats up wayyy to quickly, but I digress.....

Maybe someone (a bit more knowledgable than me) could post some information of how and why the/a clutch would overheat (I know the basics, but I am just very suprised how easy/quickly the clutch overheats in LFS), and the best way (if any) to deal with an overheated clutch, and the best way to avoid it happening in the first place.

You drive differently in your normal roadcar. If you keep your foot on the gas changing rapidly through the gears you will burn your cludge too.
If you drive normaly there is no damage (i did notice a little when you drive away in the new formula BMW but i think that is normal and you only do that one or two times in a normal race).

Can't unlock it but blackwood in the new formula car looks great. The car is a little slower and easier then the fox i think. I have to get used to the new gear changing thing. No more flatout through the gears

but with autoclutch (don't have a third pedal) you can't damage the clutch that much (well, i did, but that was with constantly driving forward and backwards for a few times) so i don't think G25 users will have an advantage. When clutch is totaly damaged i think you're race is over (i could not drive the car anymore).

And repairs is an option now in pitstops
Quote from JasonJ :I'm here, been up since 4am. Nice patch - FWIW - worked for me.

Can't seem to burn out my clutch though I'm really trying.

Try pulling away in first gear and revers a few times

Quote from driversbriefing :My LFS is unable to connect to the master server, however I can ping it.

To ping the server:

-press 'Windows' + R
-type 'cmd' , press 'enter'
-type 'ping master.liveforspeed.net' press enter

My returns are about 48ms

I don't get any: Lost = 4 (100% loss)

Quote from mickyc30 :can cracking do that sort of thing? i wouldnt do it anyway, its dis honost, like 3 people made the game didnt they? seriously who would steal from a 3 man project, i know its very succesfull and everything, but its only $55 or so aussie dollars so its not that much why would you bother stealing it? oh and btw i get S2 soon i think

Yes it can, because changes need to be made in the code. But i see the topicstarter is S2 licenced, so i'm probably wrong.

i have a replay, do u guys have any idea?

cheers michael

Do you use a wheel? I can't view the replay from here but it sounds like a problem with your pedals. Maybe some contact-spray fixes the problem.
