Quote from JPeace :Ok I now understand where you are coming from, ie, ignore the bully and he will leave you alone etc. But yes, and until then he will continue to come out with the crap that hurt the sensitive feelings of greiving people. And btw i wasn't trying to parent him guys

Except it ends up working even better than that. People in real life can still be an annoyance when you're trying to ignore then. Not so on a forum.

Unless the user starts spamming just to get their username shown in threads. That's when the mods can easily ban with impunity.

He's not your child, he is not your responsibility, nor is it anyone's job to change his behavior.

If enough people ignore him, he might get the hint. Otherwise, he'll just keep doing the same old stuff, but no one will notice.

O/T:

Is everyone's ignore button broken?

IMO, all users are entitled to post what they want, but that doesn't mean I have to see it. You don't need to rely on the mods to get this done. If enough people get fed up with a person and ignore them, it's as good as a ban.

Quote from shim :Qatar FP1 times...

wow at Hayden and Spies getting up there.. the GP10 bike from Ducati must be getting tamed.. and im surprised Spies is up there aswell.. could be a sign of things to come from the young lad..

You can tell from the top speeds that Team Redneck doesn't have the same motor as the factory team, too.

Or maybe it's just because the riders are a little bigger.

Something is seriously wrong with you if you didn't enjoy Phillip Island last year, despite the lack of passing. Just Rossi and Stoner pushing it to the limit.

Yamaha has a video on YouTube of a little chit-chat between Spies and Lawson in which Spies states he'd like to ride a 500 some day. Lawson tells him don't bother, it'll just feel like a pile of crap to you.

R1 races are a bitch. I can get the ARX in a solid third but the two cars in front of me just keep walking away by a few tenths every lap.

Very cool.

I've been doing motorcycle trackdays for a little over a year. They're awesome. My first club race weekend is May 1st and 2nd.

I was originally going to run slicks on my SV650 but I don't have a spare set of rims yet for rains, so DOT's it is. I ran the Supercorsa Pro's last year, which are the previous generation of this line of tire. We'll see how the new ones do. I've heard a lot of good things about them.

Does it make me gay that i like this song

No. Being gay makes you gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Quote from wheel4hummer :Cool, I didn't know that Summit Point was that close to me. Also, no google street view on the track? That sucks.

4 hours for me.

I hear Summit Main is getting repaved again this year. I haven't been on it yet, but I saw it in person and in videos, and it looks really bad.

The Shenandoah circuit opposite Main is fun too. I have an onboard video of it that I recorded if you want to see it.

Though I think a rally car would be best for it.

Try this instead.

It came out in 2008.

Are you suggesting there's an old VW Scirocco in LFS?

They heat faster if you slide/spin them.

Understeer helps to warm the fronts (don't use brakes, you'll just lock the wheels and flatspot the tires), oversteer and lots of throttle warms the rears.

Just driving laps at race pace is usually sufficient.

How else would the spring rate be given?

My dad had a 100W guitar amp that was capable of being deafeningly loud, while his 300W home audio speakers couldn't hope to match it for sheer sound output.

It's all about the efficiencies of the speaker. Home audio stuff is generally less efficient due to the need for more clarity.

Spring length is given by the motion range, visibile both in the LFS garage and in f1perfview under Suspension Travel.

I usually just drove laps until I got a good one, then grabbed the telemetry off it and looked at the Suspension Travel graph. If it went to 0 at some point, I raised the Ride Height (and thus Motion Range) and retested.

FWIW, I don't think it's possible to prevent bottoming on that corner at AS4 in the BF1. At least not without a stupidly stiff setup that sucks everywhere else.

And don't confuse people by using "dt" as a variable name. If you've ever taken calculus you'll understand.

One word: telemetry.

f1perfview, specifically. I've been using it for just this purpose for years.

You should have also clarified you're talking about vertical G's, along the Z-axis of the car.

The car belonged to my sister. She was just too cheap to get it done right and her dumbass boyfriend screwed it up.

My SV650 has a full race exhaust. It's pretty loud.

My sister's boyfriend (at the time) tried to replace the muffler on her '90 Honda CRX. He got it off and couldn't put the new one on. Somehow I got stuck driving it to the muffler shop, sans muffler. 15 miles away. Most embarrassing drive ever.

I was under the impression that all of Shell's (and probably most other companies) fuel grades contain detergents.

Higher octane is just a waste of money if your vehicle doesn't require it. All of my current and past vehicles ran fine on the lowest grade available (87 here in the US, although it's measured differently here than Europe), and that includes my race bike.
