Right, hhmm.. Well, it is possible to map positions on the client side. With usernames/tags its even possible to filter only on "cops". If somebody is really into this cruising thing I guess he/she can program something like that, but its quite some work.
And, although it is possible in real life to do this... It's called tetra scanner / tetra scanning .. In real practice it doesn't work that good.
Third, if an admin finds out that you are using some technology what basically can be called cheating, you can risk a ban.
Police mobile communication is all digital nowadays and encrypted, at least in my country and the UK. So, it's not really real life anymore.
Set aside that, it is possible to program a client side insim program to send a LFS location but I do not understand the point of it. The server already knows where everybody is.
Ye. I like to add that every community has this. Although this community is extra special because so big mix of cultures, continents(!), languages and interests. Also because drift, cruise and race are not the same type of peoples.
And who put in your mind that advertisement actually works?
This website (and forum) got beefed up after I made some critical comments since the last kart UK meet. Not much more can be done. Other then joining Steam, but if you've read that topic then you know whats needed for that.
By the why.. Advertisement can actually backfire. Did you thought of that? If the major public starts to bad mouth your product then you die.
The best advertisement is patches. More specific; timed updates. People on the internet work like a clock, if they know something is coming, they return. But only when the schedule is known. Not this vague release of work every now and then. (Mostly then).
I once had wheel problems because I had an USB connector which had voltage instabilities / was distorted. The reason for that was a cheap chinese general power supply on my laptop. Weird, but true story. Took me some time to figure out it was the power supply -> USB port causing the problems because I was not racing on the same day as I replaced the PSU.
Anyway, otherwise it sounds like a hardware failure / broken wire to me. Return to the store or throw it back on the streets if you found it on the streets.
It's better then textfiles (the manual doesnt correspond in any way to the last versions of Airio, he had no time to write/update an extended manual). It's SQlite. Well.. It can be SQlite, lets say it like that. The person who runs the InSim can specify to use textbased or SQlite. I needed this at a later stage because the collected data on the CG servers became so huge that even a heavy processor / memory sorting couldnt handle it anymore.
Exactly.. Glad you understand this! Not only that but you/he is forced to start tracking again what is going on with 'his child'. It's not good, this community has given him so much negativity that it started to affect his private life. Maybe similar to what happened with CTRA and what Eric is experiencing. You need to be some sort of assh. and/or ignorant to other people to be able to function here
Ye but thats the thing.. You dont need to do anything, I have a Verizon Moto Z Force, connected to the awesomely slow German mobile phone network (O2, worse you cannot get), Wifi tethered, no problem, instantly working.
Did you tried USB tethering already? Phone attached to computer with USB? Is there some security software running on the phone?
If yes then I am out if suggestions. Oh, try a phone of a friend. Maybe some other network. Narrowing down the problem is nice to do.
No that is what you make of it, he simply doesn't want to have anything to do with this community anymore. Not today, not tomorrow and also not next month or next year. Selling or giving anything has as consequence he gets sucked into this sick environment again and this is not desired. He has a fine job and private life, doesn't need this dark whining kid environment anymore.
So either LFS Lapper or even better (because it is open source) KingTracker I see as good alternatives. You can do everything you want concerning race tracking and managing with those tools.
The lag detection of Airio is not good by the way. It is using the LFS InSim information (CCI_LAG), which is too slow and/or too unreliable to be of any use.
You don't need to "open any ports" when you want to join a server. There is not sufficient information to be of any assistance.
Maybe this is applicable in your situation. Your mobile network provider might block UDP to counteract torrenting on mobile networks.
People do idiotic things on a mobile network. Mobile networks are not designed for heavy usage. When I would be mobile network provider I would definitely make some blockades to kill over-usage of the network. You give very little information about your situation, the less information, the less help can be given.
Let me know when you find the problem. Like I tested today, you do not need to open any port. Works out of the box, even with an USA phone. .. Maybe when you trigger me enough I make a video of it, because skills are endless.
To get back on "the problem". 5 years ago I was able to join my servers with a tethered phone I now remember, must have been very far ahead in time. Didn't have to do anything.
And just now I had a great idea! I have a new phone (coincidentally a USA Verizon phone hahaha) .. Shared my data connection with Wifi tethering to my Windows 10 64 bit laptop. Started LFS and instantly connected without any problem to some random MRC server. So...
You know what I think is the problem? That you could not care less.. It's karma. Good luck with finding the problem but it is not LFS. Its you and or your stuff.
Due to the nature of antennas, transmission, signal collisions, users and over-demand (because of the so called "unlimited" data (which is not really true)), no, it's not really high -quality-. Cell phone networks are always slower then wired networks, if it is 2017, 2020, or 2050.. Doesn't matter.
Tethering with a mobile phone is damn ass cheap, not surprised that it gives problems. But, as usual, the problem is elsewhere not by the person itself. That is 2017.
Hmno, I am not so sorry for those other games either. The problem is with LFS that if you have a bad connection you mostly are annoying to other people, it doesn't affect yourself that much. With other games, especially shooting games you think multiple times before you go multiplayer with a crappy connection.
Help yourself and get a decent wired connection. Are those prices so high in the USA for such a service?
