Ah it seems that it doesn't matter, MP or SP the FPS does suck.
I just didn't think so because I didn't put much AI players in the editor.
If there is other player models visible the FPS just drops massively, can't understand why. It's not like the models are very high poly or anything.
This FPS drop also doesn't seem to have anything to do with the AI working, because if I turn my head so I can't see the AI players doing their stuff the FPS goes up again.
And it doesn't matter, low or high graphics settings it just does the same.
Weird thing is that the game seems to run ok in SP, but when I go to MP the FPS drops to half and the mouselag is back. It's basically unplayable. In 15 minutes of testing and trying to get playing in some server the game already has crashed and got stuck to the loading screen once.
If the MP is gonna be like this I'm not gonna buy this game that's a fact.
Sorted! Anyone who has mouselag problems and owns an Nvidia card, set the "Maximum pre rendered frames" to 0. Mouselag is a gonner for me now.
Now this game starts to feel quite good actually. I'm able to use nice combination of high and normal settings, game looks quite decent and the FPS is nice and solid 30.
It's not bad, but I would really hope for better FPS. I have 9800GTX+ and AMD X2 6000+ running at 3.2GHz and 2gigs of memory, so I think these specs are fairly similar to the recommended ones.
FPS seems to be in the area of 20 to 30 and changing graphics options doesn't seem to have much of a effect or if at all to the FPS.
Graphics aren't that stunning either.
But the most annoying thing is the horrid mouse lag, how is lag like this even possible. I move my mouse and then like third of a second later it actually happens in game.
I haven't yet decided if this game feels good or bad.
They are the so called skin templates, they usually include the black mask, wireframe, a shadowkit and all the different parts of body in their own different layer. They are supposed to be opened in Photoshop and the meaning of them is to make skin making itself easier and possible to make more professional looking skins.
And you can't really have a bodykit just by making a skin, but you can make or find a ready shadowkit that makes the car look like it has some kind of bodykit.
I think it's a some kind of a bug in the damage system. It has happened me a few times already and it always happens after a crash. Somehow the suspension just goes ballistic sometimes. Don't think it has anything to do with the new patch.
Quite funny as just minute ago I had a blast in rF, driving a Caterham around Nordschleife. Can't really agree about rF having this problem, most of the time I was exiting corners I pretty much had the power on consantly and just made few quick steering maneuvers to keep the back end in the road. Had a good grip in front tires but when I start accelerating out of corner the back tries to slide but it is a very manageable slide.
This also is my style with many other mods what have good physics. For example the HistoriX Ford GT40 is a nice challenge around the "green hell" but at the same time I can keep the back end from overtaking me by just making fast corrections.
I wouldn't be so sure if it's a good idea to get such a fast car as your first.
I also doubt if the owner is going to even sell it to such a young guy.
I'm not saying that an inexperienced driver couldn't be able to kill himself in a slow car, but a fast car can turn the odds really up.
Also if your gonna buy a car with tuned engine you should really know all about it and be sure you can be able to fix it and afford fixing it (you never know).
-EDIT- I read the engine specs and he says it has 10:1 compression. That combined with charging doesn't usually mean a reliable engine. Tho I can't say for sure because I'm not familiar with the engine in question.
Not a bad suggestion but I don't think it's really necessary. We don't get really that much new suggestions daily that they are in need of sorting.
And it would make browsing the forum more time consuming, now I can just click on the improvement suggestions and check the few new threads instead of having the need of cycle thru all these sections. And well probably half of the posters would post their suggestions in wrong section anyway.
Downloaded, installed and played this mod. It certainly isn't the most good looking mod, but good mod it still is.
I just fell in love with the Matra Simca MS650, it's V12 just sounds so beautiful. And overall in this mod the sounds are really good.
For me the Porsche 911 feels really weird though, not realistic at all. But faster cars handle in a very believable way. Feedback from the steering wheel is good too, tho in very low speed the wheel shakes in a weird manner, but that's not a biggie.
My temp gauge also usually shows quite high readings... But I have measured it with laser meter and it actually doesn't get more hot than it should. 80 Celsius or so. When the needle goes for the red area it usually means that it's in it's normal running temp.
It's quite common for the temp gauge to show wrong readings, it's usually caused by the temp sensor being a wrong model or just a cheapie.
IIRC the temp gauge uses different temp sensor than the ECU so it doesn't have anything to do with the readings that ECU gets.
The air intake temp sensor should be inside the MAF if I'm not mistaken.
The AI is pretty slow and well not that aware of others. There has been major improvements tho.
With the current system the AI is very hard to make good, because they use the same laws of physics than the player does too. Usually in other games the AI doesn't use exactly same physics than the player and thus the driving for the AI player is easier. That means it is easier to scale the difficulty level to be similar to player and at the same time make them to be able to avoid hitting the player or other AI drivers.
For what I know ie. in rFactor the AI players usually have much more grip available than the player so they can go as fast as the player and do fast maneuvers to swerve out of the way too, they don't require as perfect coding for their driving inputs in different situations. This system also has it's flaws but it seems to work better than the current system in LFS I think.
Yeah the ICV doesn't probably have anything to do with the rich idle.
I dunno how it is around there, but around here those stock fuel pressure regulators are really easy to find as used parts and well very cheap too. Even I have few of them lying around and wouldn't probably ask more than a fiver for one. Brakers etc. should have those available.
It could also be one of the temperature sensors, intake or the one measuring the engine temp. If the ECU thinks it's running cold or getting cold air it should be injecting more fuel than necessary.
But well I hope you find the real cause. These EFi systems can sometimes be a real pain in the ass when something is not working correctly, it can be a one little cheap part causing big problems.
Oh and you may notice that I don't have the wires connected to it, that's because I don't use it. At least during summer the ICV isn't really needed, it usually only helps a bit during the startup and raises the idle when the engine is cold. I plugged it off because it only made my idle to randomly go up and down and sometimes it even kept open thru a pull so the AFR went a bit more lean than I wanted it to do.
The ICV shouldn't really affect the AFR, it only gives a bit more air to the engine during idle if needed to correct the RPM.
Maybe your fuel pressures are off? Try changing the fuel pressure regulator to another one.
Or maybe it's the MAF? My MAF is modified so it "fools" the ECU to give richer AFR, but my engine is a bit tuned so it's needed. If your engine is stock it should also have stock MAF.
There is also the screw on the MAF from where you can adjust the idle AFR, tho it doesn't have a big effect so if your AFR is massively rich it doesn't probably help.
I know that you are joking, but I still want to correct you.
The reason why other than Finnish people think that we drink a lot everyday, is the way we drink. We don't drink during the week like a lot of people do in other countries. But then we drink the same amount other people drink during the week in one day, usually during Friday or Saturday evening / night and thus getting very drunk. For ie. tourists this is very visible during the weekend and this is how the stereotype is born.
In many other countries people do drink as much as Finns too, but that may include something like 2 glasses of wine everyday and maybe just few more when it's the right occasion.
In some countries it's normal to go have a beer during lunch brake at work, but in Finland that is weird, someone could even think the one doing that is alcoholic or something.
Oh BTW, I didn't have a single drip of alcohol during Juhannus, I was recovering from slight hangover.
