Quote from VTiRoj :To be honest, if I was an F1 driver I'd stay away from McLaren after all this news. So I wouldnt dare guess who would. I'd love to see McLaren with 1 driver though, infact that should be a part of their punishment. If Alonso leaves McLaren, they arent allowed to replace him, same for Hamilton

I can't relate. I think McLaren should boot Alonso to be honest, along with de la Rosa and all the people (which they know of) that were involved in the whole thing. Ron Dennis most certainly wasn't and nor was the majority of the team if you ask me. Alonso and de la Rosa should have had their F1 licenses stripped for a year.

You also have to add caster effects to that as on the outside wheel you'd get more negative camber because of that too. So really, that's a lot of camber once everything is added up - so you'd need about 7-8 degrees of body roll to make the outside (more important tyre) vertical to the road. It's important to consider track camber also because the crazy camber values could be because of track camber.

Body roll results in a tendency towards positive camber (relative to the road). Suspension compression results in a tendency towards negative camber (relative to the road). With a high CoG you get more body roll and hence need more negative camber. Hence the extreme camber values. Which is what Shotglass is saying.

Hehe, live camber is even more extreme than the camber adjust value. From what Todd's told me, LFS' camber simulation isn't exactly top notch. I'll ask him to take a look here when he can but I don't know how much he'd be willing to share.

The problem's not inappropriate use of apostrophes. Look at the sentence: "I just feel for someone that's always complaining about people doing unfair moves just pushed me wide." The word for implies that there's something to come describing that "someone" in the next clause. But there isn't. I did this stuff a few years ago and it was something to do with main and subordinate clauses. Frankly I don't care enough to look it up because anyone should be able to see that the sentence is missing something. Now SHUT UP, because I have no intention of responding to your next steaming pile of angry immature teenager crap. When you see a pattern emerge with 99% of people always against you when you argue you should know that there's something wrong with your attitude. I think I'll join that BlueFlame ignore club now.

Quote from BlueFlame :Shut up, your not English, so why are you trying to be smart, I'm telling you the way Hamilton said that Sentence is perfectly O.K. Just lax

You're arguing over a footnote I made so no-one thinks I made a mistake in copy/pasting the quote. And what he said is still wrong. I may be Bulgarian but I've lived in an English speaking country and studied in English since 5th grade (I finish highschool at the end of this year). My English qualifications are probably better than yours. And for the record, I wouldn't take your word on anything so just stop arguing with me.

James Allen's thoughts on the whole thing. Though he makes a few presumptions (and we can all guess which way they lean), I think that's pretty fair: it's actually how I feel about the whole thing. Of course, if the whole thing doesn't become clear in the next week or two, we will know how strongly Ron Dennis feels about integrity when McLaren reveal their driver line-up for next year. If it includes Alonso and de la Rosa as a test driver, then clearly there's something sketchy going on. I guess McLaren should be able to break their contract with Alonso on the basis of him being involved in this.

They already have a contract.

Quote from BlueFlame :There is nothing wrong with that English my man. Its perfect.

Let's look at it carefully:
"I just feel for someone that's always complaining about people doing unfair moves just pushed me wide."

He can have "I just feel that someone that's always complaining about people doing unfair moves just pushed me wide" or "I just feel for someone that's always complaining about people doing unfair moves to push me wide is unfair/hypocritical/whatever". What he said is not a complete sentence.

Hamilton's comment on the move:

"I wouldn't call it fair, but it was hard though. There was enough room for the both of us to get through that corner fair and square. I just feel for someone that's always complaining about people doing unfair moves just pushed me wide. I was very lucky there was a run-off area so I could continue to race."

The third sentence doesn't like to be good English but you can get what he's on about.

I'm about to do my final secondary education exams in October/November, so right now things are incredibly busy for me. I've often thought about making a new LXCC season but I never saw 3-4 relatively free months ahead when I can actually commit to running a league. It's a shame because I've got some interesting ideas. However, currently, the plan is to find a solid server in December/January and do a few stress tests. Signups for season 2 will hopefully start sometime in December or January depending on how my holiday goes. I'd also quite like to wait for the next big LFS patch before starting a league because it might turn things upside down a bit if it's the middle of the season. You guys will be informed as soon as there is a more solid plan.

It seems the drivers knew after all. They should have been excluded from the drivers' championship then.

Quote from (-Mark-) :Thing i always think is.. we cant really say if GTR2 has real physics because none of us have driven a big GT car (i think anyway) so its hard to tell, where as on LFS, i would guess everyone has driven a real life counterpart of a LFS car..

I still prefer GTR over LFS because of the fact theres so much more content, and more is being made to a high quality.. but thats my opinion

To me, that's a backward argument because then the only thing that counts in a sim is content/graphics/sound and that's not what sims are all about. Sims are all about making you feel like you are driving a real race car. The sim that makes you most immersed should be the one you like the most. And to me, that is LFS.

Quote from Storm_Cloud :Farcical. The integrity of the World Championship is far more important than ensuring their new pet Lewis Hamilton wins the title.

Yeah, clearly it has nothing to do with whether the drivers were involved in spying.

I think it's a very fair punishment assuming that the fine is in proportion to how valuable those spied documents were and how much of it they used.

Like J.B said though - I'd like to see more focus on the track, and less on media and scandal. The media's been fueling the fire throughout this season, between Hamilton and Alonso and between McLaren and Ferrari which has been very annoying.

One big trouble with the LXs is that people always set them up with HUUUUGE coast locking factors and pretty large preload which isn't necessarily good. Todd was recently kind enough to help me out with a setup for Aston North - I already had what I thought was a decent base, but I had massive turn-in and mid-corner understeer. The car just ploughed off the throttle. He took one look at the setup and went "coast locking factor at 70%?!"

In short, that was decreased to 10%, the front roll bar got stiffened a bit and the front suspension was raised and the rear stiffened. The rear tyre pressures were also dropped. Here are the results.

A local battery company proudly proclaims that it's South Africa's "biggest and only" battery manufacturer. That's not really offensive in any way, so I'm not sure it's quite on topic but it is related in that it's stupid marketing.

*bump* I have the exact same problem. It happens mostly at the mirrors but it's not confined to them. This is since reinstalling Windows 2 days ago. This should probably be moved to the technical assistance forum though because I doubt it's got anything to do with LFS.

EDIT: I seem to have fixed this by installing XP SP2.

500MB or so.
And last time I checked, 60 is between 30 and 110.

I'd quite like to join but I'm not sure if my connection will hold or if it does, will I get in anyone's way by lagging around. If we can do a test before the actual event one evening, that will be great.

By the way, 23 October is a Tuesday, I assume you mean 23 September?

Quote from Viper93 :It's a satire, they take facts and twist them around to make them funny. Not even 1/2 those things are close, and the other half are in space. It's a comedy show, don't make it into a news broadcast because of his background.

I could cut and paste anything to make it sound like something it's not, which is one thing a satire does. They omit critical bits of the puzzle to make the story sound so crazy that it makes it funny.

Is America not busy "saving the Middle East" while it hasn't actually helped its own people, the victims of hurricane Katrina?
