4 classes, GX was announced eliminated last week.

It's P, PC, GTE, and GTD. GT cars in GA are already just modified GT3 cars, so opening up to more GT3 cars shouldn't be looked down upon at all. Currently PWC is running GT3 cars and at times have 20-30 cars in the class without a problem. This would help boost the grid for GTD more and also have more manufacturers join the series.

GTD does feature modified GT3 cars, but they are 4s off the GTE quali pace at Road Atlanta, so they will need even more slowing down than what has happened in ELMS (less power and +50kg). Will be interesting to see them all run at Road America in a few weeks.

Yeah I've been looking at what some of the drivers etc are saying to Scot Elkins on Twitter. It's not pretty at times.

Hmm I missed the last few hours. When I stopped watching Merc and Porsche were so damn close. What happened to the Porsche that they finished 1 lap behind?

As far as I'm aware, they just gave up.

i heard the RLM guys say that they jumped the SC start so they got a penalty and dropped back to almost 2 laps down.

power steering died and it did last few laps with 5 cylinders.
