The online racing simulator
Then I won't mention how I bought the PS2 just for GT3 (worthwhile to note LFS didn't exist in any reasonable form back then IIRC)... We all know what GT4 is like. Thank goodness for Enthusia, which genuinely made it worthwhile.
the music killed it
^In your opinion.
In mine, they should have synced it a little better but I quite like it.
mmm..... tasty graphics. Since I recently got my ps3 slim and already have a 360 i might get forza 3 and gt5. Best of both worlds; hey at least my g25 has a second use... and yeah music killed it :S
I liked the music to be honest. Not that is matters in the slightest. Picking out the music is just desperately looking for something negative to say about it.

The Sony conference started 20min ago, hopefully the final details will come from here. Animated pit team has already been leaked, along with new Lambo 560-4

March 2010 in Japan :'(
Good thing Forza is behind the corner to keep us entertained till march and PS3 isn't region locked.
Yeah, means I can spend a good fews months exclusively with FM3 untill GT5 comes out, it was always a bit of a worry that they would come out around the same time, but no worry now
Who wants a shitty xbox now (i'm sure glad i have one)?

I had a feeling something like this would happen. GT, never fails to ruin expectations...

If they're using that time for something good, like improving the physics etc.. then let them be, but i really needed my HD Nordschleife fix this year
Well, one thing is for sure. It'll be fun and it'll be huge. I seriously doubt they'll be working on physics improvements however (wouldn't surprise me if they dumb it down for final release actually).

Looks great (literally amazing) - but look at the front wheel at 1:22 and tell me that looks realistic?

Maybe the driver has parkinson... :P
give me a break.

that wheel being controlled by a dualshock. Everybody can tell that. So why play dumb? The game still has full G25 support

Naah, c'mon, they know they have lots of customers with a wheel, serious sim lovers, i think they'll do their best for those "proffesional" physics or whatever is called.. But gotta say that Prologue was pretty impressive with some cars, on some ocasions, for example with F430 on that city (London) track.. The feeling was pretty good, the FF, going over curbs, etc..
I'm sure the physics is bigger priority to them then for Turn 10, where 99, 99% are thumbstick players, who care more about painting their cars

The physics in GT5P were already "dumbed down" once. Why shouldn't they do it in the final release of the game? The majority of players is still arcade players with joypads.

Prologue is ok, decent physics, and i just hope they are not going to ruin it... i'm prepared for anything tho... it wouldn't be the first time they mess up (GT3 was fine, then they ruined GT4, blabla, etc).

And as for who cares more about physics, Polyphony or Turn 10... i wouldn't be so sure about that. Just because one of the games supports a G25 doesn't mean that physics are actually better. In my book, Forza 2 physics are still a lot more detailed and advanced than GT5P physics. To be honest, i'm expecting car porn and an amazing screenshot generator from GT5... and proper physics and racing from Forza 3.
Quote from jibber : and proper physics and racing from Forza 3.

Proper physics and racing with a thumbstick? Give me a break And with all honesty, how did we become the "physics gods", how can we know what is the "best"
I never said i'm "the physics god". But i'm entitled to have my own opinion, which is that Forza physics still are superior compared to GT physics.

And with real racing i mean having cars that handle good, a good online system, decent collision physics and no rubberband effects. Thumbstick or wheel... if the basics aren't done right, a proper wheel won't help.

Or to say it even more clearly...

I like GT5P very much for how immersive it feels when playing it with the G25, but i can't help it... Forza 2, even with just a joypad, feels a lot better to actually drive the cars.
Fair enough, but i didn't mean you personally, but all of us, if we haven't drove those cars on the limit, how can we keep debating what is "real" or not I guess it all comes down to what feels real to us.. But looking at those drift videos of Forza 2 and 3, i can't say it looks real, and that are not "drift physics", that's just general physics, and it's not exactly realistic But whatever, let's enjoy both games..
I have driven cars to their limits. Not all day long, but sometimes (swiss mountain roads and on race track). Not all kind of different cars, but a few (944 turbo, mx5, s2000, rx7 FD, f360 modena spider, etc).

There is no game/simulation/software that does feel real compared to real cars (especially over the limit). Maybe in ten or twenty years we will get something that feels slightly comparable to real life (i doubt it however). The closest thing to real life is probably iracing (with the pontiac solstice), followed by LFS, Enthusia, then Forza 2 and GT5P.

But anyway, sorry for going slightly off-topic. I'll enjoy both games for sure, yep.

It does feel damn realistic and similar to what i felt on track when going on limits and over the limits in real life. Same feeling I get in live for speed. Live for speed actually gave me an edge in learning drifting in real life. It doesn't feel the same like Jibber said above, but it is similar, and reactions needed are similar.

Jibber has been driving his cars on limits on track too. That's the best way to find out if physics are implemented properly.

And there is one basic done in forza 2 that actually makes drifting in a way more realistic than lfs. Will be trying forza 3 demo now and see how it improved.

The problem with forza 2 is, it never looked impressive on replays, but does feel very good. Unlike gt5p, which feels decent enough, but looks pretty awesome on replays. I guess visualization of the physics and the actual physics are two different things in a way.

I guess you have driven a car in real life on tracks on limits, and drifted them (if you do comment physics of drifting) ? Or are you just comparing videos from game to videos from real life?
