60hp is fairly enough for fresh licenced drivers...

i now have my license one year (im not saying im the perfect car driver :P).
the engine itselfe isnt that bad (got it up to 170 km/h on autobahn hehe) but the acceleration really could be better.

Yes, I meant fresh licensed drivers shouldn't get 200hp+ cars. These guys are just showing off, how rich they are and stuff.... I hate it.

We own a Volvo 850 too, 2.5 170hp. It's very comfortable and fast. But, when I'm driving it, I pay the fuel I use. And it drinks a lot, more than 10 liters/100km. As I don't have a job, still studying, I wouldn't spend much money buying fuel into it... I would rather drive my mom's Fusion... There's huge difference between the two marks, but I don't really care. Both cars bring my ass wherever I want, then why not drive the weaker car?
Quote from BastianB :Don´t buy Italian cars (i own one myself -> Fiat Punto 99´)

nothign wrong with them
italian cars are all about finding a good mechanic to look after them

That's funny. We had a Fiat Brava 1.6. The dash caught on fire in the middle of the night, almost the half of the car burnt down. Italian cars are famous for their electronic issues. This is just an exception, you can find a lot if Italian cars that have never had any failures.

i had a fiat tipo for years back in hungary, never had problems, never even had to bring to a mechanic,i changed oil sometimes, done

Ok, but Tipo is a bit older than a 01' Brava. Nowadays new cars are filled with 50kg wire and 10 computers. Why? One broken wire, and your car won't start. The only thing that could help is a computer which shows you where the problem is. Oh and this 5 mins job costs a lot.

true, though i wouldn't buy a fiat past 1979 ( unless it was a uno... preff turbo )

but puntos can take some abuse... its just that they have an unbreakable clutch but happily the head goes so its ready to be broken for parts

Unbreakable clutch!? My friend crashed a Mk1 Punto and was given a Mk2 as a courtesy car. The clutch went on that. He was then given a Mk3 as a courtesy car. They clutch also went on THAT too.
I'd sort of start to think the problem might be his use of the clutch rather than the mechanics themselves

Nonetheless, less chat about whether or not any brand sucks more than any other, more pics of people's actual cars. On-topic, people!

Of course that's the case, but theirishnoob said they were indestructible!
Quote from S14 DRIFT :May I ask why you paid that for that? It's an overpriced, underpowered piece of Brazilian poop (It's made in Brazil). I'm sat here thinking "why didn't this man look at a Panda or something!"

Oh well, as long as you're happy!

Its awesome for the City runabout, its cheap to maintain, its cheap for insurance and it handles well!.

Its so easy to chuck about the place if needed and stay calm when not

But there is a nice little BMW compact 3 series that i have my eye on

Looks like Niall's (The General Lee) car.

My brother drives an Alfa, which at the end of the day is a fancy fiat and the clutch went on that.
Quote from sgt.flippy :I always love how Americans are so proud when they have a "stick shift"

Over here it's more like: what? An automatic? Why?

lol i dont really like stick shift, it was hard at first trying to learn it but i got use to it, but hell it gets me places so im not complaining.

over here you can and whenever my money gets tight, buy 2 puntos for 50 euro each, make one half way decent car, get it road legal for 45 euro and sell it for upwards of 500 euro...

silly market atm you couldn't sell free Viagra if you tried.
