$9000. from a dealer. Which coincidentally, was the top of my price range.
2005, just over 92,000 miles on it.

KBB price from a dealer on the car is $11,350, which is about where most other SS's with similar mileage were being sold at in my area. The private party price is more down around $9000. But I was having terrible luck finding a car in good condition that way. It had been labelled as more (how much more I don't know), because the website had a "price reduced" banner on it, and the salesman mentioned something about dropping the price the day before.

KBB Value
Cobalt isn't the first car that comes to mind of when I think ~$10,000 American and manual (Mustang) but yours looks very clean. I drove a few of those when I worked for Chevy and I know I wouldn't race you
Wow they are worth more in the states than up here i guess, my brother had to lower the price of his redline (same car different body) to 6500 to sell his.
05 with only 85000 km on it.

What always really annoys me is the terrible quality pictures dealers use for their cars - it's nice to see in the US they do things a little differently

A lot of dealers don't seem to realise that it is the pictures that sell a car. A couple of times we've had a car that's been advertised for a week or so with no pictures, but as soon as the pictures are uploaded, the phone melts.

You see some adverts where dealers haven't even bothered to check that the picture is not blurred/out of focus. They might say that they don't have time to spend ages taking pictures, but at the end of the day, if buyers don't respond to their adverts, they no longer have a business.

Lots of 4th gen mustangs were available, but I've never liked them. Just not my style.

Well for starters, I live in Detroit, which likely has the highest demand for American cars anywhere in the world. All 3 automakers are within 25 minutes of me, not to mention all the suppliers, etc.. People can price American cars a bit higher here than anywhere else and still have them sell. This little pocket of American car buying doesn't even extend to the far side of Michigan, I notice a sharp difference in the cars on the road while on trips. and I'm guessing you don't care about buying American in Canada. Second, though they are the same car underneath, Saturn Ion Redline is actually worth less... Third, buying from a dealer is worth more because it's certified and detailed and whatnot (Not a deal maker, but it's nice if you can actually find a decent price). I can't speak to what condition your brother's car was in. You lose $100 of the price by converting to Canadian dollars (They are stronger), which really isn't much, so we'll forget that.

But I'm not too surprised he had to drop the price to $6500 in Montreal.
huh... youd think people who live next to where and know intimately how american cars are built would avoid them

Just got a part called ``tail trim`` body panel for my car coz a rust spot got pretty bad.it was only 140 bucks my cost.list is 190. better than getting a cut out piece of a junk car.so friday im gonna take rear bumper off, tail lights.inside carpets and leave my car at a friend of my moms. he said he`ll charge only 200 bucks to fix,but than i have to paint it.(which i get for free at an other body shop we use) so all in all not so bad.

200 is pretty good i guess

Ok my ECU is fubarred.. need to source one quickly in like... 1 day

For your M3?
I can fix those Bosch units, too bad you are so far away from me.
Wen't on a cruise last night, soarer got yellow stickered, mate in the red yellow stickered(peeled off) unregistered 180sx with rx7 number plates on it ran from the cops.

a brand new R35 GTR with only 55km's on it got hoonlawed, and we made an s13 smash 3rd gear to pieces.

All in all, quite an eventful night.
"Yellow stickered"? Unsafe for road or something?
Quote from mamoru :"Yellow stickered"? Unsafe for road or something?

Yep, apparently the suspension is "too stiff" lol
Good lord..

lol how can a 'cruise' attract cops enough to make one guy get skiddish and run, and a few others get taped up??
Quote from XCNuse :Good lord..

Because that one guy was driving an unregistered 380rwhp nissan 180sx with an expired yellow stick that he peeled off, and then stuck on an FC3S rx7's plates on it.

I dont know how it is in other places, but in australia you'll get absolutely ****ing REEMED for that, as in, court appearance and multiple expensive fines.

I have a feeling a cruise might be a little different in Australia to where you live...

In australia, a "cruise" is basically, you mave a meet at a carpark, a guy hands out maps on paper, and you follow the route to another carpark.

Usually the cruises will go something like this

930pm meet, 1030pm depart
Meet1; Carpark(Chatting/gathering/handing out the maps)
Directions to meet 2; mostly highway/freeway (For drags/high speed runs)
Meet2; Carpark(burnouts/socialising)15 min stop
Directions to meet3; Mostly hills and twisty for some corner fun
Meet3; Carpark(burnouts/socialising)15 min stop
Directions to meet4; Country/deserted roads
Meet4; Carpark(burnouts/socialise until everyone gets bored and bails home)

Cruises generally consists of high powered cars, and in some case unregistered track cars/drift cars, its basically australias street-racing scene.

If you're bored enough, check out my video i made from a collection of stuff i've videod over the years..

Just sound like a bunch of pricks to me, fair enough having a little blat on your own now and then but to get into a big group doing burnouts and highspeed runs on public roads is just stupid.
So doing a burnout is AUS is the same thing as saying "Hi" in the rest of the world?

@skstibi
Nope, Siemens
Quote from Scrabby :So doing a burnout is AUS is the same thing as saying "Hi" in the rest of the world?

Pretty much.
To the people moaning at XCNuse for mudflaps...

THEY ARE ONLY ****ING MUDFLAPS, AND THEY ARE VERY BENEFICIAL WHEN DRIVING ON PUBLIC ROADS. It doesn't taint the image of the car, it wouldn't look any different WITH out them.... it's like saying, OOO nice car, but shame that you got WINDOWS in it. Mudflaps serve a purpose it's retarded to suggest the car looks shit because of some mudflaps..

I don't see either what the fuss is all about...

I'm probably am going to get my hands on a genuine Group-N ECU. Original tuned from BMW Motorsport. Really cheap! (cheap as in 750€ knowing new they cost 1400 excl. VAT). Gonna get close to 350bhp then with a thinner headgasket. The whole shit lower compression.... Standard headgasket on the M3 3.2 is 1.74mm thick, this one is 1.6mm. If feel so smart now

Goodnight
Damn, no I don't call .. racing, shenanigans, and hooning "cruising"

Must be an upside down thing.

Up here we call that dumb and street racing.. at least that's what I call it lol.
Also we don't have yellow or red stickers, that's new to me I've never heard of that before. But yeah... driving an unregistered car.. that's just a bad idea.

In other news I got that wheel fixed, it's all nice and round again and seems to be holding pressure which is good.

I need to put wheels back on, but I'm wondering if a 25mm spacer will help bring the fronts out to match the rears. Or if that would be to much. But I never did the math or any measurements so .. I won't know until they go back on.
When are you going to buy some tires that actually fit your wheels?
^ who is that question directed to?

So let me get this straight.
You drive a fairly modified car that has a cage..You've never taken it to a track, and you don't condone "hooning" so you've never pushed it on twisty roads or anything.

Whats the point? You're just a poser in that case lol
