@ DJ Timmy - erm I think You missunderstood my problem . I DO NOT have any problems with the sequentiual shifter , that works just fine , the problem is when i change it to h-pad (6 gear + reverse) , it wont let me change into any other gear then gear 3 (any position of the shifter on the upper side) and gear 4 (any position of the shifter on the lower side ) .

So basicly: gear 1 , 3 , 5 is all gear 3.
gear 2 , 4 , 6 and reverse is all gear 4.

disconnected the shifter and reconnected it but still the same
Any other ideas ? is there any way to check if the other buttons work at all (if they phisically react ) . To me it looks as if all buttons for some reason were assigned as buton 10 (upper side) and button 11(lower side) , or somehow the seq mode is still active even thou the shifter knob is loose and in h-pad mode. But thats just my assumption:/

knob is competly turned to the right , even tried to switch between seq and h-pad a few times thinking maybe that will help but nope :/

Sorry if this a repost but could not find it anywhere :/

Problem description: I was in middle of a race and all of a sudden my shifter started changing betwen 3rd and 4th gear only , and it dosent matter what position I put it into (even in reverse its still 4th gear). I tried to check if maybe sequential mode activated somehow but nope , tried reinstalling the logitech profiler but that didnt help either. I did not hear any crack or any wierd sounds that would suggest that something mechanical broke all of a sudden and it happened from a second to second without any indication of any problem before that. When I try to reset the buttons on the h-pad in LFS it shows me that its always button 10 and 11 , dosent matter what position i put the shifter in

The wheel is fairly new (well bought some time ago but wasnt used that much as I was on vacation) so I assume it should live a bit more than a few months before it brakes down

For any help I will be very very thankfull . If You need any more info just ask and I'll try to answer as best as I can

PS: LFS is not the only game that happened , just checked Richard Burns rally and its the same so I assume its a general problem

you might be right but somehow erm I kind of feel at home here (as this was my 1 racing sim ) and besides that RF community is erm how do I put it gently .. not to helpfull or mature for that part (at least ppl I met on the servers) .

Besides I still play lfs all the time and use RF only when i want some road cars racing as we dont have any decent servs for that , so somehow I just typed that question here without thinking to much that those were the wrong forums for that

So If anybody knows PM me if not well I guess I'll have to go try my luck on the RF forums (bleh)

hey and sorry to activate the topic again but I dont really want to make a new thread just for that

After so much talk about RF I went over and tried it and well it feels kind of wierd , but thats not the point :

I found the real feel plugin and even found a setup for the champ car mod that feels kind of realistic , but for the love of God I cant find a correct setup for the megane trophy or any road cars for the G25 for that matter (By setup I mean the values in the RealFeelPlugin.ini)

If anybody has found a decent realistic setup let me know pls

I just hope the ctra servers or any other road car servers will get online anytime soon as its a shame that to find any decent non GTR or F1 (as we got conedodgers and redline for that) racing I have to change the sim

If I had the money I would build the whole aston course . Love as1 with that drop down chicane and of course blackwood as I have a sentiment for it

heya Smile First thing I suggest you do (if you havent done that already) is to tune your wheel rotation (from lock to lock) to every car you drive . What I mean is , before you drive a car check its wheel rotation in the garage (it was under steering in the car setup screen I belive) and be sure to ajust it in windows profiler to the rotation that is shown in the car setup , usually its going to be 720 ,or 420 .

-Drive arround a bit with paddles as gears instead of the h-block for some time to get the feel of the g25 in lfs

-Dont over do it with the force feedback strenght also Smile

-If you want any specific help with something feel free to pm me with questions , I have a g25 also and I think I figured it out quiet good already Smile

whens the last time you saw Robert Kubica reset his BMW-Sauber in Formula 1??? I say that because LFS is supposed to be a simulator, to be close to the real thing as i gets (so far so good i may add)... so why add a reset function?

I think the reset function should be kept to Single Player only for offline practising... but thats my personaly view. and ive gone off topic here slightly but i needed to mention that. Sorry.

when have you last seen Kubica flying 20m in the air and doing 3-5 roll-overs after just slightly touching the barrier ? Or when have you last seen cars (not only F1 bolids) flying 20m in the air and beeing wrecked because they touched a tyre that was lying on the road going 30-40 kph
So you see sure everybody wants realism , to bad we dont have it yet

As it is almost never a chance to see what happens in the middle of the pack or up fron when I am in the back I usually just do what Slopi does , if I see a name that I know is a clean driver voting then I join in on the votes as usually they do have a reason for it , when I see a name I dont know starting the vote I just wait untill the last 7/8 and see if any known names join in then I complete the vote.

Its not perfect I know but its the most logical way for me to decide wheter a vote is justified or not .

got a replay for yo this time the message appeared "drive or spectate" (or whatever it is exacly) even thou i was already spectating , but I guess it would kick me to spectate again if I were driving.

Thats all great and all but I was in the middle of a race DRIVIG when I was kicked to spectator, read my post one more time I tried to explain the whole situation as best as I could and dont really want to do it again in this one.

On another issue I guess the whole drunken monkey was as much my fault for bad wording as you for I guess bad understanding of my intention so you said sorry to me so it is only fair I appologise to You for that Sorry mate next time I'll consider the more serious side of those kind of sentences before I post them

hmmm thats rather impossible because yesterday I havent been playin g since hmm about 19:00 as I was on a party till 3 in the morning ..

PS: something is wrong with your server btw , as yesterday a few times , while in middle of race I got kicked to spectator . But the wierd thing is I was kicked for now moving. (the drive or spectate message and then kick after some time ) Another wierd thing is that It wasnt me that was beeing kicked (sort off ) , will try to explain :

A few days ago after getting a bit drunk I changed my nick to Thill(a-bit-drunk) and raced like that so ppl will know to be careful arround me but then the next day beeing on a hangover I had a nick Thill(chillout) , but the message for the kick to spectator looked like that (about) "Thill(a-bit-drunk) was moved to spectator or whatever the exact message is. The thing is my nick was thill(chillout) at that time .I know that my master nick is what was beeing kicked but still why did it say Thill(a-bit-drunk) ?. Dont know if you got what I wanted to say cause its kind of hard to explain.

PS: "is nothing more than someone having a moan for what we have done. What have they done, nothing yet they have to have go at us." See I could jump to conclusions based on that remark like you did (because the only reason I wrot that post was to HELP you make a good clean serv and not moan about that something is wrong with it without knowing all the facts) but erm I dont.

rofl if you quote please quote with the name . And lol I thought that this sentence was suppsoed to be funny and well ppl liked it but I guess we are touchy arent we?

No offence to anybody.... ") , next time please read up a few times and see that it was ment as a funny remark to the fact that 53.75 was a bit high (and drivers on cd4 did agree with me on that ).

Now how I came to the conclusion , well as I love to race on cd3 (even thou I get wrecked every second time ) I wanted to at least try to help you guys make the cd4 a licensed server and not just another server where ppl think going 150 into t1 is ok cause they have brakes from wonderland. So I payed close attention to the times after each race and even took the time to spec ppl and see the difference of driving based on the lap times . and guess what 1/2 of ppl having times arround 53.75 were driving like maniacs when it comes to close contact , so I thought "ok cd4 is sopposed to be for fast clean races , lots of it is toe to toe as the times are very close to eachother , so where do we need the most clean driving .." and guess what , its toe to toe driving where those mentioned earlier are not handling to well .

So here is the story of my remark , but I guess trying to help You guys and put in some funny remark (i belive there was a no offence line) is not the right way to do and You know best so I'll just shut up and let you run your servers the way you know is best ..

its probably due to the fact that alot of ppl dont read forums and have no idea what cd4 is for . There is a small remark when you join cd3 but it gets lost in all the chatter ..

Might i suggest to make a big red/yellow (whatever :P) text int he middle of the screen that advertises cd4 and explains how to enter (the 53.00 lap rule) , because lots of ppl just know that there is something like a licence system (cause they heard) but dont know how to aquire it

No offence to anybody but come one this way you will just have 2 public servers , one with a slightly less number of wreckers.

I dont really know what is considered a great time on CD1 but from what I judge by some posts .44 is kind of quick .. well 53.75 on as1 isnt to quick I suggest lowering the time to arround mid 52's . then its going to be a challange to get into cd4 and at least ppl driving there will be sure that any wreck that happens was due to a honest mistake and not random crashing ..

Sorry if I offended anyone with that monkey remark but I like racing the small gtr's and dont want to see another server ruined by wreckers that took the time do do 5-10 laps and made the req time for cd4.

Morning all Had some great fun racing on CD3 yesterday , sure there were some wreckers but overall it was alot better than the days before that (prolly cause CD ppl were online)

The thing is i really like the sane people on CD and driving with them is great. I do like to drive slower cars of course but since ctra is taken down i kind of race the gtrs and wait for that serv to come back up again

I guess I'll try to find some other servers if the crashing wont stop on CD

About the league , hmm thats a good idea , problem is I wonder if I'll be able to join every race due to rl stuff :/ thjats why I have been putting the league stuff away all that time , but I guess its worth a try

hmm didnt know this will put up a discussion like that , just to clarify some things ..

1). Like i wrote at the first post , I just had to get it off mu chest thats why i posted it (was building up inside me for some time)

2) In no way did I want to say that the CD server is the problem so pls dont get me wrong as I love to race there (lack of ctra serv helps the love :P) . Yes I did post that after a string of I guess bad luck on the CD serv but this kind of thing happens on most of the servers (only the heavy moderated ones are fairly clean - cheers for that , but not to manny servs let you drive the ufr or xfr )

3) PwrSlave - If you must know (hate ppl that spin theories out of nowhere) i was involved in most of them because I tried to race clean and instead of hitting the pedal to the metal I tried to slow down and avoid rolling/spinning cars which ended up in me beeing rammed from behind most of the time. If I manage to get past the mayhem arround lap 1 (as for AS1 its not t1 thats deadly but the whole lap 1) I usually ended up in the top 5-10 finishing the race so i guess I do know how to drive (even thou I suck at making good times :P )

4) I know those kind of posts are usually useless as the only thing they do is provoke flame wars so I sincerly say sorry for that kind of thread but I just had to

5)I wont get as low as to starting to wreck ppl just because I had a really baaadtime , the title was just written this way to get attention I guess

5) Got it all out and now ready for another few months of havoc untill I have to do it again , so to all clean drivers hope to see you arround the servers , have fun good racing and best luck dodging wreckers

ehh just makes me furious , I try to race clean , if i see somebody is clearly overtaking then I try to leave him as much room as possible or hide behind him , try to use my breaks and common sense , sure its a racing sim ppl want to race toe by toe but jees if you dont know how to do it then pls dont

Sure I make mistakes as does everybody now and then but at least when i push somebody out I try to wait for him and at least appologise(sp?) , but I see that ppl dont bother with that to much nowadays

Ehh guess it's just my bad luck or something then Well time to go to the dentist
