I have watched BTCC many a time, and the cars do get close-ish to rolling at Knockhill specifically. In LFS I dont think its the kerbs that are the problem, more a combination of physics things (bouncy objects, tyres, car weight physics, suspension settings).

Lets wait and see what the latest update brings and then start mass-debate if needed.

cmon have you looked at diesel racing? Le Mans & BTCC & WTC... ok so you cant hear the engine screaming, it hardly ruins it. Makes it different, but doesnt ruin it.

I've been bored with LFS before, now just returning to it for a play. Maybe I'll get bored again quickly, not sure.

Our racing team has almost died, think most people in it got bored too. We're all still here, just not playing LFS as much any more.

My home life mostly killed LFS, I had 2 kids (ok so the wife did that bit), moved house (back to Scotland), but now I've built a large shed in the garden for the computers and the wheel is set up. I plan to play a bit tomorrow night and we'll see how it goes from there.

I think some of my boredom comes from being slow.. doh...

Yes granted, LFS could do with some updates. Its still the best feeling racing sim out there and I still enjoy scoffing at the Xbox360 boys going on about how realistic (insert game name here) is. Mind you these are the same crowd that think playing FPSs using a joy pad is the most accurate way. LOL.

Oh and the forums? Not sure, don't visit all that often. Sometimes I pop in and its the usual sort of thing, think that's what forums are about though, they follow the product. If the product is mostly the same sort of thing it was a year ago, then the forum will be too.

We also have to remember LFS is unique. There is no other game that has gone on this long with such a large following (ok there may be a couple more). We're all passengers on the LFS ride to glory!

I have to say the same thing here, the MIF Team is nigh on dead due to that. We have been somewhat inventive and tried to have leagues and stuff, but there's just not enough movement on the project to keep us fully interested.

That is the main problem eh, someone feels pity on one racer and buys a license, then all hell breaks loose with every demo racer wanting one.

pedrotski, this is quite interesing. You seem to be offering something worth way more than the cost of 24GBP to get a license.

I think most people would be apprehensive, as you could pull the carpet out from under their feet after 1 month, then no one could do anything about it and you'd only lose a little cred over it (the buyer would get more "Told you so's" than you got criticism).

I'm tempted because I have a few web sites with videos on etc and I'd like to expand them. Also, wasnt the LFS Files site looking for somewhere to go? I think that would be a great idea, if the LFS Files site would fit within your limits. Cant remember what happened to all that though.

Beta's of Vista have been out for a long time and they make enough money to get the certs sorted via MS.

Hopefully now that consumer Vista is out they will get pressured into doing something.

I have gone back to XP, mainly for Wheel but I was having issues with the sound as well. Turned out that was a hardware issue (faulty mobo) but at least I can use my wheel again. Fished an old sound card out and all working again. Cheers.

I've been running Vista now for a few weeks, full version (Business).

Been pretty good.

Got round to putting LFS back on as I have now activated Vista and was hoping this was my new stable build.

LFS works a treat, run into some sound issues and now my sounds stuffed. Attempting to get drivers for that, anyway...

Got the MOMO plugged in and the MS driver was no good, detecting the Axis' wrong etc, so I went looking for drivers only finding the usual XP stuff on Wingman team, so stuck them on.

Oh dear, blue screens of death, which not many people I know have seen in Vista. I had applied the Momo steering centre fix too.

Since I need my machine for work related stuff, I've had to remove it all which seems to have fixed the blue screens.

Has anyone managed to get Vista and the Momo (DFP too for that matter) working together?

I've google'd, checked the Logitech forums, searched these forums... nothing.. other than people saying theirs isnt working too.

If no ones got anything I'll go back to XP... *sulk*

wouldn't have Nut Clap been looking at all you guys and wondering why you were all wearing his skin though? Does seem like some filename issue happened, but some of the other bits and pieces dont make sense. Anyway, seems almost solved, I would just let it lie. Put it down to language and a misunderstanding.

If you have some close LFS friends, you could get them round your house and have a LAN Party, that way there would be no lag and its also easier to co-ordinate videos if thats what your doing (because you can talk to people right next to you).

Other than that, it might be worth visiting a friend's house with your computer to see (maybe they have a different ISP?) if the problem is limited to your ISP/Area.

I have a funny version of LFS here - Version 0.1k - however its not in its original state. Someone has reverse engineered it and called it "TurboHacked". I remember playing it and pulling 200MPH at the end of BL1 straight. Those were the days. The BF1 has kinda killed it though, cos you can now do those kinds of speeds with a proper car. Still good to reminisce
