yeah its free GNU license is just that. Open source and free - however you can donate if you like, which is a good idea if you use it all the time, only fair.

Quote from bahrain :Welcome to the internet, home of perverts and retards. If you don't like something IGNORE IT, there is a block message function. Find a server with people you like. Do what andre does and create a server and password it with ur friends and play.

Bitching And Moaning Here Will Not Solve Your Problem - It makes you look pretty pathetic if you let something like this defeat you.

Go Cry To Myspace.

Thats a pretty closed mind you have there. What happened to common decency? If someone stops you in the street and says "damn you is ugly man, how the f*ck can you go out looking like that?" Do you just ignore them and keep walking? (ok maybe you do if you think they might have a knife or something, but get my point)

Ok so the internet can be a shitty place, however when someone agrees to be bound by conditions in a written contract, clicks the button, then they are bound by those words in most countries. If you see something that breaks those rules then its only fair to report it and have it dealt with in the correct mannor.

Saying the internet is a crappy place, ignore it is fine for completely rule-less areas. This is LFS dude.

Becky, can understand your frustration. Anything like this is unacceptable and should be reported to Scavier. Stalking is not legal in the US and there are laws against this sort of thing in the UK. I doubt that this would stand up in court, it being a game and all that, but its still online communications and at least some of that is covered (obviously people are from different countries though).

Im pretty sure that behavour is covered in the LFS agreement that you click agree to when you sign up, therefor Scavier would most likely issue a warning with the threat to dis-continue the account of the offender.

Some people have said that creating a thread is not a good idea, giving more coverage to the twat that did it, however, more coverage is a good thing. The more blokes that read this will be a bit more carefull with their "Eh, theres a chick in the server!!" reaction. Which is institutional sexism (where its built in to society).

I must admit, we were in our server the other night when another girl came in. I was instantly curious as to how a girl comes about getting into something thats almost completely male orientated, but instead of jumping on her and asking her all sorts, we got on with racing. She wasnt familer with the track, so she buzzed around until she got up to speed. All normal sort of behavour for any person in LFS. I dont see the problem there, but I can see that young males wouldnt be able to contain themselves as they are used to the internet being a breeding ground for this sort of behavour.

So how do you continue?

1. Keep your name
2. Keep at it
3. Save replays and send them to Scavier
4. Give as good as you get - might not always work - but comments like "FFS cant a girl race in bloody piece?" might just make the semi-mature kids think about what they are doing (obviously not all of them though, but thats where the replays come in).

Maybe we could start a internet based elite-hacker-vigilanty-style group of people that take them down when this happens? Naa thought not, that would be illegal too... if we got caught... hmmmm {deep in thought now}

Anyway take it easy, dont let it get to you and keep at it.

Mind you wtf do I know, Im a bloke!

Just thought of a handy one, excuse me if I've stupidly missing something that LFS does already!

Would be good if the dedicated server host window would show when people have changed any settings (used the / commands).

Some good ideas up there.

Quote from MAGGOT :That is actually false, as "Brakes" being the first noun in the sentence becomes the subject of said sentence. The correct wording would be "The car has effective braking."

Got to remember though, Im scottish and I like to bastardise English at any given chance. So the brakes are whatever I tell them to be.

But yeah point taken

Quote from Gentlefoot :Personally, I'd rather see real world circuits before real world cars. For me its the one thing that lets LFS down. Don't get me wrong, it's still the dogs danglies!

Yeah im with you there, can understand the amount of work to get an accurate track would be high though.

think the correct term is "brakes are so effective" - meaning lots of things - tyres, car's weight etc all working together to make them effective.

Glad someones picked up on this. I was in a server the other week, was it a clownpaint one? Not sure, anyway. There were loads of rules. No passing on that side, giveway to this and that. Sounded like a load of bollocks to me - wheres the racing? This was f***ing motorway rules on an oval. Shift+S on crash as well, what happened to the yellow flag and avoidance thing?

(im on a roll now) - and another thing - people shouting at others that dont obey Blue Flags, when clearly what they have done is ignore a yellow one and crashed into the folks having their own crash.

I think its high time people got back to real racing - no rules other than ones based on real life (scuse me if those stupid rules are in real life) - that means obey all flags, not just the blue ones. Racing is not about getting a hotlap time, its about getting to the end and possibly ending up first, with some close racing on the way.

Dammit thats better.

I've managed to have fun in the BF1, believe it or not. True there are the T1 issues, but its funny how everyone just ignores them now, instead of voting to restart all the time (probably the "too soon to restart" rule heheh).

I think it comes back to like minded and skilled people racing on the same servers, currently there are too many people that dont know what the BF1 is capable of and they just pile in at T1.

I love the BF1 and will continue to, but my usual reaction with a racing game/sim is to favour the maddest car, period. True the racing is closer in some of the other cars, but dammit they are too slow !

slightly cheaper with savastore.com but I hear their returns arent great, although I've never had to return anything to them myself.

Ive not looked at the replay, but this has always helped me:-

Do some laps in hotlap mode, get to your fastest.
Watch the world record hotlap closely, braking points etc
Do some more laps, you should save at least 1 second straight away.

Mind you, I'm slow so what do I know?

Yeah i think its down to agreement from both parties. The big manufactureres like Ferrari will have thier own agendas so will want to change a licensing fee. Some of the smaller companies will be glad of the publicity so they will agree to the terms that the Devs set out.

Once the devs have time on their hands, we should find that there are many opportunities for real cars in LFS.

heheh you should be a comedian. They have watched the replays, and watched you recking, how can you argue?

To get onto the fence in the BF1 on the Oval, just full-speed hit the end of the pit wall, usually you go pinging down the straight, landing over by the grand stand. When you reset the car, it puts you on the fence.

Another little one, SO1, on the top end of the pit straight, theres a road thats barriered off, theres a small gap in the barrier, if you touch it at the right angle your car becomes airbourne.

Quote from Scawen :Hehe The hotlap was made invalid when the TYRE stack hit the wall!

Noted the bug... at least it's just a rare one, just a bit annoying, nothing too serious.

lol I never noticed that one, makes sense now I've had it before too, but never thought much of it, because I couldnt re-create it.

I think the other issue has always been there, just more apparent when you hit your mate at 130mph in a lightweight car. p
HLVC invalid bug and "in the air" physics issue

Couple of minor things

1. I had a pretty bad crash in multiplayer, car got airbourne then spun on its ass for almost a minute. (lap 7 or so)

2. HLVC, I hit the tyres before the final split, so next lap should have been valid, got past the split, in the middle of the road, then it pinged invalid (wall) even though I hit nothing. (lap 2)

Attached two MPRs, please no comments on the crap driving!

Yep I would hope this whole thing is merely an exchange of information, exchanges of cash would surely be a bad thing in the end.

I think this will help LFS explode into the limelight as mainstream media picks this up.
