It's that time again.

No patch in sight and everyone seems bored. People are moaning, trolls and drifters are crawling from the depths of murky swamps to harass the happy villagers with silly requests requested-a-thousand-times-before, LFSn00b's wailing how he's mastered the braking points and still can't finish a single league race, we're still driving on Aston National without GTR cockpits and throwing rocks at cruisers and oval racers isn't as fun as it used to be.

Show and tell how you're coping with the nail-biting tension of waiting for the next thing to appear from Scavier's garage. Let's make this a positive experience and tell us about your regular life outside blogosphere and porn torrents

Now some of you might think what this has to do with general LFS discussion, so here's a pic of a general:

I actually forgot about this place until maybe a few days ago. Lack of new content is really starting to dry me up.

But I've been passing my time driving around on a real track. However the season is pretty much over for me, so now I need a sim to keep satisfying my cravings until next spring.

s1 tracks and s1 cars are still my favourites. i am bored for a very very long time now.
Some new content would be nice....
Pretty much all fine over here, although on the German forums the amount of silly questions seems even more significant than here. Our team hosts a GTR-Cup at the moment, with some nice little trophies to win, so I am currently not that bored.

I bloody hope that we get some new patch until the cup is over, or I will be bored as hell too

I do one of 2 things, each drastically different to the other:

1. the 'in-the-house' option is that I go and play RACE or rfactor (booooooo, i know...)
2. the 'out-the-house' option is that I go to the pub.

Pretty much sums it up for me!!!

Passing my time with other games, and other things. As for the forums? I am trying to stay away from here more than ever, I just don't find anything interesting here anymore other than the few odd skins I look for. All else is just junking this place up .
Scavier has been busy and silent for 2 months now. This usually means a lot of things are being done... or a few things but really well. That's what I like about Scawen - when he does things, he does 'em thoroghly. I also hope Scawen has done some holiday'ing... a few weeks at least.
All is well. Not been here long enough to be bored with it already.

Regular Life? You mean *outside* the forum?

DOES NOT COMPUTE

I'm happy sitting here racing the current content. I'm quick-ish, but i have in no way "mastered" anything.

Lets bring some fresh air to this discussion

I'm still beginner here and there are plenty of cool things in this game but what I find most important is the bunch of really great people who I meet online. I know than some of them (sometimes most of them) are beginners/noobs that somehow spoil the atmosphere of clean, fast racing but anyway it's not that bad.

As I said, I'm new in here and don't know most of guys. But you are the veterans of LFS and well know all the best racers. For you it's rather social meeting than pure racing (at least IMO). I know that's not like going to pub with bunch of friends but still this could be fun.

Maybe I'm subliming all this stuff but anyway it's not as bad as you are saying (I hope).

At least there is still one noob (me) that would appreciate your help on the track so see you there

I'm still loving it after 2 years. The GFC season is really hotting up now.

I've never got too excited about new patches apart from X and the one when they gave the RWDs more grip by sorting some tyre issues.

Lack of patches....lol talk to the Nkar pro boys and girls. YOU ARE SPOILED CHILDREN!

We know a next major patch is in the making. I really cant understand this. Developments are taking place, and you just want them to go faster.
Tricky one this, i see plenty of new racers, the older faces i see less and less, this is a sign of the boredom mentioned here, really is time for somthing to freshen up things.

Anyhow that grumble asside , how do i see the LFS community at the moment?

Online Racing:
Myself, Bored slightly, but still find myself getting some superb racing. Id love more tracks. (but ive wanted this since first days in LFS S1)
How i veiw the older racers a bit jaded, still optimmistic in parts mostly, but whats obvious is the fading of this older community, obviously this is a cycle as i see other racers now making their way into a 2nd & 3rd year in LFS, a hard one to gauge this.

The forums:
Well i dont want to open a can of flame bait worms here. The lack of respect and some of the repeated polls and topics and misinfomation sometimes is just so frustrating, not to mention the lack of posting skills and manners.
This creates an undercurrent of negativity, which didnt exisit in the early days or maybe was not as apperant. I know a few years ago the place was a bit more positive, i think people were a little harsher back then, now its just the lack of empathy and idleness and "been there done that" attitude. Respect is maybe the word im looking for.
On a positive note , still good to see poeple still looking on the brighter side and to the future. I just like to see more of the new users engaing brain beofre posting , searching , researching , discussing, not spaming threads , going off topic
This world is what you make it.

My view on LFS Dev Progression:

The Current Test patch phase seems to really have slowed down,
Why? i guess this is because of the updated engine, also perhaps this is also tied in with other content, thus only in-house testing, so whats happening ? it seems with the last seris of patches, fixing and implimenting many new features , they in itself provided dev diary in a way of games progression. Right now its just speculated, It woulde be mighty nice to get a new Developement report, maybe from Eric or Vicc (keep Scawen busy coding and running after a toddler)

Coping with LFS Developement:

Food, mostly pizza and fish, talking to the cat or wall (wall listens at least) long sessions of losing mind in music. playing some other damn game (even when, deep down i know, its just "not LFS" )
Trying to live a normal life i guess , seeing family & friends, this LFS addiction is hard (And i havent even mentioned team life)
LFS-wise everything is in perfect order. Maybe we ARE a spoilt bunch of kids, since the game is getting better and better and we keep moaning :-)

RL is quite a pita, I'm beginning to study, move in with my girlfriend, quit the easy life of a weekend relationship and have to do homework once more... But how should I say it... every challenge lets us grow.

Things are A-OK for me.

LFS is great as is it is and as I have said before, its already a great game and a love it, and new features are just one big added bonus.

I do agree with Gener_AL, this forum needs a little more respect. I am also a victim of this, I have thrown a few harsh words around, but only when they had it coming (How mature). But people doing things just to annoy the mods is bang out of order imo. People making stupid threads, then putting stupid things in their sigs about their thread being deleted, just give them a god-damned break!

Online racing is still as good as it ever is. It varies from day to day, past couple of days, I have been on the pace, leading, fastest laps, wins, but then I went on 2 nights ago, I couldnt even make it to T1 before being taken out with no apologie. But that is online racing, nothing can ever be done about it, so I just deal with it.

I was wondering about Patch Y or even some test patches...No sign? But I am happy with the content of X and I wont get bored of it for a long time. Team life is fun and great, I have turned into a performing monkey for my team mates enjoyment, but it makes the whole LFS experience that extra bit fun.

Just my £0.25p worth.

Word out brothers and sisters! (Where did that come from)

xx
Got to love posts from spanky, quality. Made my day.

Yeaaah...well, personally I think I spend way too much time over here. I should figure out something else to do, summer was easy because I was working, but now I'm utterly bored at home...and getting ill too (loyal workers are ill when not working) so I don't feel like actually playing LFS now that I have unlimited amount of time!

Online you can actually sense the boredom withing the veteran crowd I think. People may not need more tracks but the old less popular ones to be used. Aston national and GTR, not that bad combo but a bit dull in the long run. Point harvesting isn't that interesting either because it's quantity over quality, not that fun I think. Something should be done, and is been done..but the progress is a bit slow.

Then of course like always with LFS, the waiting game is on. We know patch Y is incompatible, so it should mean it's huuuge awesome and will stop hunger and wars! Maybe we can have it before Christmas, they usually have a habit of timing these things before holidays if possible. But you never know, and I've learned to live with the waiting. But I don't have that pre-patch feeling inside my guts yet, do you? Well, maybe it comes when test-patch section is opened again. Wouldn't mind not having it open though, surprises are always nice and it has the habit of spoiling them. And is there anything to test for us anyway?
All is good!

Still love the game. CTRA single seater even spiced it up a bit recently.

Even without new patches it rocks!

Don't feel like I don't have my money's worth.

Finish our skins
im still happy but maybe a new designed track (NOT REAL LIFE) or a newer car perhaps could inject some thrills
well thats my view.
"official" ??? wtf, come on you're kidding
Oh another thing: If you guys feel bored, why not join a league? I don't want to force to anything special, but I think it would be a great waste of time seeing the "old" forum sluts actually race against each other! Might be quality!!!
Again, this is not an ad of any league!
