I don't know... I could probably use one of these for taking kids to daycare. I always hate to walk 2km when it's raining. I could use this for a quick run to the local store to get smokes, beer and a bag of chips (the usual movienight eats and drinks).
It may be as crap as the GWiz, but at least this one got an engine that runs on petrol.

For some reason or the other, the normal URL to SCORE seems to be not working, at least not from all locations. The good news is that SCORE is still online and reachable at

www.scoreracing.de

Only 14 days left, and only two more chances to get ranked and get a place on the grid from the start of the series.

One of hte BMW teams in STCC chose to run with 6 speed sequential gearbox this year, instead of the normal 5 speed H pattern box that is more usual in those cars. They got a weight penalty for it, don't know how much, but there is a difference in performance.

Would be cool to have the option, maybe with an automatic weight penaltyfor the sequential box, should we shose to use it. Just an idea.

Sounds ok, moves ok, but it's still frackin' fugly... Perhaps with a body kit and a GT wing on the rear it'll look better?

Ok, no DB9 then... But how about another cool Jag? This one is from the excellent movie Harold & Maude. I think it really fits in this thread, hehe

Looks nice that site, really does. And not a handle in site as far I can tell, right? But you mention DTM while this looks more like Porsche SuperCup or something. Not that this is a bad thing, not at all, but it's not Audi or Mercedes paints on the FXR
Oh and not everyone understand German. I like what I see, but I can't really judge it until everything is translated to English (like the rules section).

Still, there are those who like something in between the fully professional and the sandbox. And that's where SCORE and series like Fake DTM come in. Real enough, but on a level that fits 37 year old fathers of three that doesnt have 8 hours a day, 7 days a week to practice, to become competitive on a professional level.

Ok so there are a few names there that aren't that bad, but there are some that really disturbs the presentation. And be honest here... Those handles take away some of the feeling right there during the driver lineup. Would have been so much more consistent with real names all the way.

Maybe I am being anal about this sort of things but I've been organizing races for almost 5 years now and I feel it's time for this sport to come out of the closet. And one step towards that goal IMO is using proper names. Another step is to have worked out rules that cover most things that goes on before, during and after an online race. The rules does not have to be as detailed as the real FiA rules, but they need to be detailed enough.

For the last two years I've basically used the same set of rules on SCORE and I've got few complaints. The rules work, they are hard to misinterpret and they are all made up with the good of the drivers in mind. Detailed? Yes, but not overworked in any way.

What is so wrong with using a proper looking name when you race? I can understand handles in pick up races, but for leagues? A proper looking name, be it real or not, looks a heck of a lot better in a standings table, a driver presentation, a race recap, well you name it. Not to mention if you're actually going to make a video broadcast if it. Can you imagine any commentator reading the name [FLT] c007 dude? I can't!
And that brings up the subject of clan and team tags in names. How bleeding childish is that? If you ever want this sport and hobby to be accepted among those who only understand football and ice-hockey, that never realized racing isn't a sport which purpose is to present spectacular crashes in a potpourri on TV, but a sport to be taken seriously, you better be prepared to present something that looks and feels like a real life sport. Regardless if it's simulated or not. Better to show of your team in the use of proper car paints. That is something even I can accept.

Quote from Thunderhead :Bring back SimFIA DTM.

Fake DTM is back on SCORE for now and will start in January. The HTML and all such little things has just been finished (avaiting polish) and in just over 30 days we're ready to take off.

And yes, the real names till stick. No handles, no clan tags, no nothing. Real names or at least real looking names is it.

FXR - Aston North - Turn 8 - 9

AI have huge troubles coping with that corner.

--- Edit ---
XRR also have a lot of toruble in the exact same spot, while the FZR goes trough just fine. All AI's where using the Race S setup.

Quote from J@tko :Are demoers supposed to not be allowed reverse configs?

Can we get confirmation on this please? I have tried to switch to demo and selecte reversed layouts, but it's a no go. Is the reversed layouts taken away from demo mode?

I've said it before and I will probably say it many more times... Tracks, tracks and tracks... The cars we have in Live for Speed are great. Sure they could use a touch up, but basically, they are great and fill most of our racing needs. Perhaps a Prototype to further complete the field, but that's not high on my list.

But tracks... If there is no risk of ruining physics by creating a track, I say let the modders in. People may say what they want but tracks will always be the key to variation. Eric does superb tracks. Some of the best I've raced on. But good as they are, they do not replace Spa, Monza, Nürburgring, Laguna Seca, Mosport etc.

I would love to see some real tracks put into LFS by Eric or any third party modder. Heck, let the modder do the track and then let Eric verify it for quality before it's released.
I get kicked?!...

Don't know why I bother doing this but being kicked for bad language when there is not a swear word in there is kind of much isn't it? I guess it's ok to try and overtake where there is no room, sending your fellow drivers of course since no one bothered kicking him out. But calling that sorry excuse for a driver an utter moron (which I did, guilty as charged) is reason enough for kicking me out? Sadness is what it is... I hear worse words than that on a Sunday visit to my 65 year old mother.

Is this really how the CTRA servers is supposed to work?

Got to agree and I was suprised Flash never mentioned DTC. Still, since DTC also use the S2000 rules, it also suffers from the built in drawbacks in that system, just as all the TCC's out there.
Bring back the Super Touring damn it...
X-Ter

What all the TCC's need is to go back to the Super Touring rules and leave S2000 behind, limit the presens of factory teams to two cars only, regulate the minimum weight and weight to horsepower factor and then leave them alone for a season, no rule changes at all.
In fact, no team, be it factory or privateer team, should be able to show with more than two cars. and manufacturers points should only count for factory teams.
After a season, they should evaluate the championship and fix the things that need fixing and go at it again.

DTM needs another manufacturer, simple as that. The 2005 season may have been a disaster for Opel, but after they quit, DTM became nothing but a very expensive game of Ludo.
