Thing is, Danica has WAY more money behind her than even Hornish, an IndyCar champion, had. Look at everything they're doing this year to make sure she's locked into the top 35 all season so there's never a chance she misses a Cup race. I think it will be harder for Danica to fail, although eventually it will probably happen. Go Daddy can only hold her hand for so long.

Mark May 12th off on your calendars, I can't wait to see Danica in a Cup car at Darlington.

They're apparently testing all 4 new 2013 Cup cars today at Homestead today. It's a closed test so no media, but hopefully some photos of the cars leak out.

I'll probably pass on the Fantasy Nascar this year unless you need an extra person to fill a spot. I ended up ignoring it most of the season.

I see the site is down for the new build, did release notes ever come out saying what new stuff would be in it?

Quote from Dennis93 :Just about a week away from the races, i wondered if any one the U.S citizens could check if there is any broadcast scheduled?

If so please post the channel here.

Thanks,
Dennis.

I will look but unfortunately I highly doubt it will be televised, never seen this series on TV before.

Personally I was pulling for the Red Dragon or Suntrust car in prototypes, didn't work out too well for either of them though.

I can't watch that, way too sad. One of my kittens does that to me all the time before he falls asleep on me.

Saw this posted elsewhere:

Quote :Our team for Motors Tv is;
Truswell
Shaw
Bradley
Goodwin
Hindhaugh
and other guest voices

Our principal duties are for Motors TV UK for whom we will deliver over 15 hours of live race coverage. Possibly other TV broadcasters too (Speed Tv Aus?). We will also cover all of the race in audio only. In addition to our live stream, that feed will be made available to a number of syndications including, Speed.com (overnights while TV is off air) MRN (to allow them to cover the full 24 Hours) If the facilities are made available to us in time we will also cover practice and qualifying on Thursday and Friday. The Nascar tech guys here at the Speedway are mega and are working hard to get a booth rigged for us.

Hope this helps - more info here and on the site as we get it.

Maybe we'll get audio commentary overnight now too. Sounds like you Motors TV people get your own announcers as well.

Every time I see another one of these cars with enormous grill openings, this is all I can think of:

Looks way better without the grill decals on the front haha.

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :So I'm pretty much the only one here who loves the looks of that, I take it? Hate the original production car, but I like that.

It will look better once it's stickered up. They always do. Pretty much every car looks like shit in plain white.

I like the general shape of it the more I look at it, but I still think its ugly because of that grill. The lines, stance, wider fenders, I love all of that and think its a huge improvement over the current car. The front just kills it for me, but it looks like the production car like its supposed to so that isn't surprising. I don't like the look of the current production Impala that much either so I'm interested to see how the Chevy version looks. I think Dodge will probably have the best looking car next year if they keep it close enough to the current Charger.

That's apparently the 2013 Ford Fusion cup car. Disgusting.

I guess its nice that it looks kind of similar to the street car. Problem is, the street car is hideous.

I do like the roof line the most, I think that's what most changes the looks of this car compared to the current car.

It does sound like there will be no overnight commentary, which is slightly disappointing. That will give me some time to sleep on the couch with the race on though.

Quote from PMD9409 :Thanks!

The speed.com stream doesn't go on during the night I guess.

What? The Speed TV streaming is only on during the night I thought.

Quote from Cornys :You guys will have to tell me how that experiance goes. I've shyed away from going there due to the fact that it would be nearly impossable to see the other side of the track.

Well I've been going there for years so I can tell you how it is right now. I would at least go once just to check it out, but yeah, from the grandstands you can't see much. There is a lower section and an upper section. From the lower section, you can see the straightaway in front of you, but that's it. We could barely see the cars pop up in the tunnel turn, but that's all the rest of the track you can see. We moved up to the top section just to see what it was like up there, you can see more of the track, but with the angle the seats were at it was actually harder to see the front stretch right in front of you haha. But if you do go, definitely get seats as high up as you can, we didn't go all the way up but I think you can see most of the track up there.

I've only actually sat in the grandstands twice. Now we just tailgate in the parking lot all day Saturday with a bunch of people and go into the infield early Sunday morning and park in turn 1. We're always right on the fence and just hang out, grill, drink etc. during the race. Have plenty of space, no dealing with being crowded in the stands. GrandAm to MotorsTV.

I don't even think us Americans get every race live, what the hell? Great to see Grand Am getting a shot though, hopefully they take this opportunity and run with it.

I'm sure they'll get a big pack out there tomorrow at some point.

Looking back on it, I'm going to be kind of pissed if the only year they raced with the stupid two-car tandems for the 500 was the one year I went to the race.

Tandem draft looks pretty sketchy so far, 55 just spun the 15. As far as I could tell they were only the second group to try it out. Seemed like the second car had to hang WAY out off to the side to get air to his radiator, Martin came back across too far in the corner and took Bowyer out.

I can't watch the afternoon session either. They don't seem to be streaming it online, its only on TV which I unfortunately do not have at work. Early reports I'm seeing on the iRacing forum say the two car tango is in full effect.

Live stream of this morning's practice started about a half hour ago...unfortunately SPEED's website is down right now. I imagine they're only doing single car runs in the morning anyway though.

Edit: I just kept refreshing and it eventually worked.

Testing for the Rolex 24 opens up today, wish there was a stream of it somewhere. I want to see all the new cars.
