That voting site was a good idea at first, but improper direction, poor naming conventions, and stages of the project weren't well thought out. It could very well come back, but it needs to go in stages... track by track, one configuration at a time. There also needed to be other ways of voting for or against someone's idea with the ability to type your reasoning. Reverse configs were never taken into account, and the number of corners was up to the site holders -- leaving what would be judged as two corners, only 1 corner for example (or vice versa).
Without all of this, it was just a naming freeforall, and uninventive as well as unoriginal names were just voted highest on so many tracks. Pretty much one of the big reasons it is no longer around.
But like I said, it could come back, it just needs to be more of a progessive project. Was one of the best community collaboration projects I've seen.
The only thing that justifies LFS having a new/updated BF1 is if they get another deal with Intel or similar. They don't just go and make the updated model as they please.
I highly doubt we will ever see LFS used again so it can score another deal, since it requires Intel or the-like to have another gaming competition or promotion.
So the 2 year old, poor gripped, grooved tyred, plain looking, 200mph r/c sounding BMW F1.06 in LFS will remain as is, no doubt about that. Unless they can find a better deal to scrap the F1.06 alltogether.... and I'd take a 2009+ era slick tyred F1 car any day.
Hmmm new noseart (and nose shape) is quite nice on the BMW. A lot more like a BMW F1 should look. Somehow it reminds me of 'FILA' though, I don't know why.
But wow, some kind of 3-layer front wing? Looks like those renders you get on those official F1 posters.
I think BMW will have a better car this year. Looks great.
Yeah no Prodrive entry at all, and confirmed by the guys themselves. A shame... would've liked to see a new team in the mix. But I guess Force India is a force to be reckoned with!!!!
Wow cool thanks for the link. Looks like it is going to be starting very soon And it gives a nice link to LFS on their site! + a hotlap competition! oh my.... Even Scawen is on the video
I don't think it will happen, and don't want it to happen.
What will happen to Sony Playstation products if Microsoft buy them? What will happen to our choices of Microsoft or Logitech gaming peripherals? No fun if it is all by Microsoft, hmpffff.
Heard the R8 at Laguna Seca, and it sounded fine. A beefy grumble to it actually. Maybe not as loud and ear screeching as a Ferrari or Maserati, but it isn't as quiet as you might think.
And actually, even the R10 TDI that was racing that night wasn't even that loud, if not equal or less in volume to that of the R8 roadcar.
Beautiful car, loved seeing it up close. I am liking the V12 concept there, hot stuff.
All of Subaru's new lineup, 2007 and 2008+, are horrible. They all have sort of a 'Camry' cheapish style to them, big plastic pieces which supossedly try to emulate metal and nice materials. The interiors of all the new Subarus are also horrible as well. I was shopping around with cars with my friend, and they are by far the cheapest interiors I've been in, EVEN for their nice Legacy model, which is the only design I like on the outside. The buttons and knobs are all cheap feeling, and very lame in my opinion. When testing the feel of the interiors as a passenger, I already opened a broken/flimsy glovebox in the Impreza, and the knobs on the radio felt loose and not very 'solid'.
It's a shame because even though Subarus are in no way 'luxury', these new models just strike me as being very poor. It is also said that they are not doing very well in sales, despite getting 'good reviews' for some specific models. These new models have made it clear that they cannot make their cars any more premium... I always thought Subaru was going to get better in the future... but they've gone backwards. For example, look at Saturn how they used to be uber shitty, and now they've grown up to make some pretty nice looking vehicles.
As for the WRX STi Impreza... still lame, no matter what version it is. The interior is not like the old STi was, and it doesn't strike me as anything with performance.
Unfortuneately, Patch Y only allows you to use the H-Shifter in cars that actually have the H-shifter in the car. One of these things that try to get the realism... even with the contoller you are using :zombie:.
Basically, the FXR and XRR are sequential, and you cannot use the H-Shifter mode because of this. Go into the garage and you'll see what kind of gearbox they have. The same applies for any other car with only a sequential gearbox. Any other car in LFS that has a normal road/h-shift gearbox can use your g25 shifter just fine.
Sucks I know... and quite frankly, this is one area I think Scawen just went a bit too far with the GTR cars in Patch Y.
Usually it is visible in other software. Best way to tell people is to just select the default skin that was placed on the topmost layer, and look around for the word "Normal" in a dropdown menu. Select "Multiply", and tada . Usually that option is visible somewhere by default.
If Ferrari's car is good, Kimi and Massa will be winning outright. But I still believe Hamilton has the capability of winning a title. His car just better be good then. I don't think Heikki will do very good. To me, he will be like the Massa /w Schumi combo back then. But I'd be impressed if he was kicking some A!
It is a 22' LCD with a swiveling sort of secondary 7' mini-display.
If you look in this picture, it can be placed above the monitor. Would be cool if you get get a lot of these little screens and make them your mirrors in LFS . Specifically the one on the top to be your primary rear view mirror, would work great.
