Perhaps I can offer some insight on why the staff aren't always the smiley happy people you see on the posters...

I work in a supermarket part time so I can pay the car bills and make a bit extra for shiny things. It's not a bad place to work at all and generally, I'm nice to the customers (got an award for it t'other day infact ) but I'll admit after 7 hours there I can become a bit irritable and unsociable.

Remember that some people will have worked there for 15 years 5 days a week 9 hours a day and may be jaded and miserable sometimes.

All you can do is go to a different checkout I guess

Night driving is a bitch at the best of times on unlit roads as dipped headlights + people coming in the other direction with their lights on means you can't see more than 10 feet in front of you anyway.

Trying it with your lights off would be nuts. The only good night driving is either on a well lit road or with no traffic and full beams on.

Wow, I'd forgotten what incredible physics LFS has! Look at those tyres :O

Love the video too, suits the song brilliantly. Great camera angles

Looks like it's in nice condition for a 90's car. Sounds like a good spec too!

Hang on, most of the "distracted" drivers in that clip were stationary at junctions... When I'm stopped at lights and my engine's off, am I still "driving" the car?? What's so dangerous about changing track on the radio when I'm effectively parked...?

Quick random rFactor question

Hi guys, just a quick question. I'd like to get into rFactor modding and was wondering if you have to buy the full game to use mods with it, or if I can just use the free version?

Thanks

reactor's really good, I built a nifty Rube Goldberg thingy with it for uni a few weeks ago. I must learn to use vRay though...

Quote :they are still happy to have lots of babies and spread AIDS amongst each other

Which brings us to the other reason Africa is in the shit. Am I wrong in thinking a certain organised religion run by a dude in a pointy hat is to blame for the "condoms are baaad, unprotected sex ftw" issue here? Having a religion doesn't seem help over there, it's just screwing them over repeatedly with AIDS and overpopulation.

Like Chris Rock said once, the solution is to "stop ****ing"

Can I just say to the OP, I've spent most of my day installing Windows 3.11, FIFA 94 and Cyberia on DOSBox because of you. It's cool using 3.11 again though, takes me back!

Haha, I remember this! I always used to use the Packard Bell Navigator software instead of the Windows UI at first because it had a cool whistling cartoon guy

Figured it'd have *chan in the name somewhere because of the anonymity thing.

Apparently he posted a message on an "Internet chat room" before going on the rampage... Any idea which one, just out of curiosity?

Quote :Avast is all you need IMO as long as your IQ > 5.

I was about to disagree with you when I realised the only time I got a virus Avast couldn't remove (Vundo... ugh, bad times) was because I used a dodgy keygen.

Paid AV these days is generally bloated crap, especially Norton.

Spybot Search & Destroy is a good (the best?) free antispyware app, Avast is a good free antivirus, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is very useful if you find yourself with an awkward virus Avast won't remove.

To be honest, it's VERY difficult to just "pick up" a virus these days if you're behind a router and use NoScript when browsing. The only ways you'll get viruses are a) dodgy software/keygens or b) allowing Javascript by default and visiting a suspect site.

Quote :Two Wheels Bad,
Four Wheels Good.

A quick semi-OT:

On my route to uni I usually see a kid (who can't be more than 12) CYCLING to school along a busy 60mph "rural" road. What kind of stupid middle class twat parents send their young daughter to school on a bike on her own on a busy commuter route ffs?

Stupidly, stupidly dangerous! And a pain in the arse having to tiptoe past on the wrong side of the road as she weaves all over the bloody place too. Why is there not a minimum age or a test for cycling on public roads?

Quote :The government seems to be under the notion that "Speed Kills".... But it doesn't.

Agreed. Inappropriate speed kills. Depending on the situation, that may be 90mph or 35mph. A blanket 50mph just... doesn't work.

Is this serious? It's ****ing ridiculous. Like many others in this thread have said, the solution is driver training. I'm an IAM advanced driver and a lot of the focus of the course is on safe but progressive rural driving. "Limit point" theory, safe overtaking and car balance form the basis of this, and if everybody was taught this, the number of idiots understeering their Puntos into trees would decrease dramatically.

Fer ****'s sake.
