Scawen, please make the engine sound a bit more quiet. I can not hear my car getting damaged or sliding any more (which is a bit problematic for me driving a wheel without FFB). The engine is definitely a bit too loud / The other car sounds are too quiet.
Greetings.
BTW: A great job you did with the sound system. Really sounds awesome. Anyways, I have a question: Why do I hear the noise of a supercharger in cars that do not have one (i.e. FZR)?
please excuse me but... server seems to be password protected, and I cant find any hint to a password on the homepage or in this thread. did I do something wrong, or are you working on the app at the moment?
caching means that your browser keeps an old image in its "memory" to minimize the load of the server and your internet connection. especially opera browsers have problems with caching, but other browsers also do sometimes.
HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2006 09:18:50 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.31 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.18 OpenSSL/0.9.7d Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate Pragma: no-cache Connection: close Content-Type: image/gif
Won't do the job in some Opera Versions IIRC. You should try to set an extra "Expires" header, which should contain a date in the past (in the same format like the Date-Header). Headers should look like this then:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache/1.3.31 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.18 OpenSSL/0.9.7d Date: [actual date in GMDate format] Expires: Wed, 1 Jan 1997 00:01:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate Pragma: no-cache Connection: close Content-Type: image/gif
Let's see if that helps (note the placeholder I set in the Date-Header in the second example, dont change this header manually - the webserver will do the job).
By the way: Apache 1.3.31? Thats old man (and insecure *cough*)!
Sounds to me like you want to remove the user option "run windowed" or the shift-f4 key combo for changing from window to fullscreen and vice-versa. please do not, some addons (like LFS Display) really need the windowed mode of LFS =)
The new ZoneAlarm Version finally has a gaming mode. Its available via [Right Click on ZoneAlarm window] -> Gaming Mode. A window will pop up asking you how you want ZoneAlarm to handle Internet-Connections of new programs while in gaming mode - AutoAccept or AutoDeny. Eureka, no ZA window will pop up.
Even if there is a name&shame no-no on this forums, these two have goddamn deserved to be mentioned. They are really bad crashers - worst I've ever seen I'd say.
Does anyone remember a post that took place here about a month ago? It was mentioned there that a clan named "myg()t - the harassment authority" had put lfs on their harassment list. maybe two members of them finally decided to buy a license to go harrassing on lfs servers because they could not crack the licensing system of lfs
Disclaimer: the above paragraph was a joke - don't take it too serious
a) Erm... Why? This always helped me recognizing when I was able to push the pedal to the metal again after a pit stop (well... maybe precisely because of this help )
It of course will. first thing is that on some point click sounds are echoed or disappear, and AFAIK Scawen promised an auto-patcher for the UXX test patch series, so there will at a minimum be two more test patches - first one addressing the few left sound bugs and implementing the autoPatcher, the next testing the auto-patcher.
