I don't, use to a couple of years ago. Don't know why, completely the wrong decision. Given up now.

Gave up and started to sell them in school lol. Buy a pack of 20 B&H for £4 and sell one fag for 50p sometimes £1, then I will have £10 off of selling them, take the £4 off I spent on buying them and I had £6 profit lol.

Is the 600 Abarth rapid or something?

Quote from BigPeBe :I would prefer the "600" (1000TC) Abarth and I know that those cars are not girly in any way. They are maybe little, but many people doesn't realise how hardcore those old Abarths actually are. They need a driver who can cope with a fast RWD rear-engined, short wheelbase car. Yes, they have tiny engines, but they also are very light, they really are quite fast cars.

-EDIT- Ahh, I realise you guys were talking about the rubbish new one. I don't really have any printable opinion about that.

My post is a bit useless considering the original topic, but let it be.

This is the new one, review from the man himself - Clarkson lol.

He is driving the normal version for about a minute, then he moves onto the Abarth SS version.

Lol, I don't like any other Fiat 500 apart from the Abarth. Did you see it when it was on Top Gear, pretty quick for a little car.

Quote from mrodgers :All depends on economics though, really. Jakg mentioned his job in another thread a while back, his part time job at a freakin mall store and it appeared to me that he makes more as a kid at a part time job than many of the people I work with at full time jobs trying to support a family and household. I could be wrong, but it sure appeared that way from the numbers he mentioned.

At $7 per hour over here as a youngster working part time, it's not that you simply can't afford a few of the insurance rates I've seen some of you mention, it's that you're not even going to make that much in a year.

Then again, you guys seem to be buying used cars for thousands less than we can. I believe I remember someone paying £2000 pounds for a Toyota MR2 and when I looked up that year around me, they were advertising for about $10-12,000. That's a significant difference.

Jakg works in PC World.

Cars may be expensive over the pond but insurance seems to be cheaper.

I've got 9ish months to save up money for insurance, when I sell my bike, that will get me my car.

Where I work, it was advertised at £6 an hour, if I get that I will be happy as I think I will be doing a minimum of 16 hrs a week So I should have enough money saved for insurance.

Over here we have something called National Minimum Wage. 16yr olds is £3.53 an hr, £4,77 an hr for 18-21yr olds and £5.73 an hr for over 22s. So we can't get paid less then that, anything more is a bonus. Don't you have a similar system across the pond?

I didn't give you permission to hijack my thread lol.

You lot over the pond find it a lot easier to insure cars then us in the UK.

I know Audis are brilliant on fuel, but I wouldn't even want to try and get insurance on one of those at 17/18 lol. It would be through the roof.

He may not have £2k lying around for a car though. The BMW I am looking at can be picked up for £1k which is why I am thinking about buying it and paying the extra £300 to insure it a year, as a 1.2 16v SXI Corsa is £1,700 TPFT and the BMW 316i is £2,070 a year to insure.

Luke, have you even looked at insurance premiums etc for young drivers?

Kia's are a piece of crap and imo are aimed at the elderly market.

I would rather have the Wira over any Kia.

I'm going to make do with the 316i BMW, that if I can get £2k together before my 17th so I can afford the insurance lol. Keep it for a couple of years and get a E30 325 if the insurance is cheap enough lol.

Jak, might aswell make do with the Proton for a bit

Edit:
Quote :A BMW will be 14 million times better than my car

Why not get the BMW then? You insurance is around the £2k mark, the same as the BMW.

hmm, the 316i E36 I am looking at for my first car (£2k a yr on the insurance) has these specs:
Quote :BHP 102.0
Torque (lbs feet) 111.0
Maximum Speed 121
Acceleration (0-60) 12.7

But the Wira has these specs:

Quote :BHP 86.0
Torque (lbs feet) 91.0
Maximum Speed 107
Acceleration (0-60 )12.1

So the Wira must not be underpowered for what it is. The BMW E36 316i has more BHP and more Torque but it's 0-60 time is slower and the only advantage of the BMW over the Wira is that it can reach a higher top speed.

If he wants pull, wouldn't he be better with some Diesel car, as a Diesel pulls better then a Petrol?

Jakg, just please don't get a Kia lol.

Well if you are using Windows 7, the only way I can see how you take the icons off is by either right clicking them and then clicking Exit or on the arrow that points upwards is by clicking that and then clicking customise.

Can't you just Right click and press unpin from Task bar or doesn't that work for some of the icons?

Quote from Luke.S :better than some riced up corsa

hmm, that depends lol. You get some 'riced' up Corsa's that do have some nice suprises under the bonnet, common one is the C20LET 200 bhp engine standard and then the tune them a little, so depends lol.

It's everyone to their own though, you may like Kia's, I myself don't. Have to admit though, their 4x4 is pretty nice lol.

Can the word sporty even come into a Kia car lol.
