Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Naseem was an overrated girl, never fought anyone any decent, always people that had just come out of the womb or on their death bed, then when he did get put up against someone decent, he gets knocked the F**k out. If he'll smash into 2 elderly people with his SLR and run away, id hit him with a wrench and not think twice

I know he was over-rated. But, would you threaten someone like 'Hitman' Hatton, Mike Tyson or other greats. I wouldn't. I wouldn't really worry about Prince Naseem Hamed either. He was a idiot though from running away when he crashed his SLR into that Golf.

Quote from tristancliffe :Why? He's a titchy little girl of a man, and we've got over a dozen large mechanics with large adjustable wrenches, crowbars and that sort of thing.

Why be scared on a ponce in a dressing gown?

Oh sorry, I forgot. Your daddy is a ponce in a dressing gown having won an amateur hitting&slapping championship in 1961.

Could you get into a ring and do as good as what he could? Most likely no. You would be suprised how much power a small person can have. Oh yea, my Dad wasn't born until 1964 lol, he was champion before he was 16 so work out what year he first won it at.

I didn't say you was scared, but imo, whoever needs to use a weapon is a ponce. Would you threaten someone like Mr Tyson when he was in his prime, no. Well lets take someone who is smaller, Hatton. His body blow could do some serious damage to a normal person who doesn't box.

We should just set up a seperate thread about boxers, who is the best and could of been the best. Actually I am going to do that now.

I like it Threatening a Prince.

Yes, but could you imagine if Prince Naseem actually came over though. I think his brother would of backed down, wouldn't he.

Well I haven't had no fame really apart from when I had a section in the paper from when I had my motorcross bike stolen.

My Dad was 5 times in a row, British Champion in Freestyle wrestling

Not other parts of fame in my family apart from my Auntie is a friend of Amir Khan and Paddy Mcguinness is my cousins, second cousin.

I enjoyed going to Mexico a couple of years back, left just 3 days before the hurricane hit, lucky. Was about 4 years ago we went though.

Wouldn't mind going to Hawaii, Miami, Florida and more Caribbean islands. I would also like to go to Monaco when the GP is on either.

People who have just paid out for a version of windows vista are going to be pleased then. Well saying that, wont they make an upgrade disc for vista?
Do the upgrade discs format your hard drive and then install windows? Or do they just replace the previous OS files?

As you cant really tell how good the graphics are from videos, I was just wondering are the graphics as good as those in LFS or better or worse?

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :I hope they didn't agree to pay the stupid prices Sky wanted, because I've not missed Sky channels at all, especially now Virgin 1 is getting higher quality programs. When we do finally get the better digital packages in our area I will make sure to avoid giving any money to Sky...although I really want MotorsTV.

I always wanted MotorsTV, glad now I have it. I dont know if they have higher'd the prices though.

What?

Alot of the Sky channels came off of Virgin Media as they had some sort of fall out. But as of today the ones that went off are now back on. The Sky movie channels never went, just the others like Sky 1,2,3,Real,Real 2 etc.
Sky channels back on Virgin Media, Finally.

Finally the rest of the Sky channels have came back on Virgin Media. Get too watch MotorsTV now and when they advertise good programs that are on Sky 1,2 or 3 I finally get too watch.

I prefer the 'Red Victor 2' though. A old Vauxhall Victor with 2,200bhp that can reach a speed of 183mph in 7.8 seconds and it does 0-60 in one second.
It is said to be the worlds fastest street legal car. He has estimated to have spent £100,000 to get it to its current spec.

Smoking makes you less healthy yes, but you can still keep fit. Once fit though you have to stay exercising because your fitness level will drop within a few months. I have experienced it myself and I can tell that my fitness level has dropped and some on my strength has also gone. I dont train for motorsports as I dont do them but it wouldn't be much different to training for fighting sports would it. I cant wait to go back to martial arts in new year, never realised how much I enjoyed it until I had to stop, I think fighting sports is a good way to become fit and strong though as you have to train all of your body in martial arts.

Maybe go down to a martial arts school and see if they do fitness classes, the place I attend has a fitness class, so maybe one near you also has one.

Quote from Nobo :For push ups you might find this handy.

I also keep my arms right beside my body when doing press ups (push ups). The further you have your hands are away from your shoulders (when not directly under your shoulders) the harder it gets though. I used to be able to do just over 50 but after I stopped training in martial arts and had to recover I now struggle to do 20.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :I don't put my shoulders on the floor as that is a sign of no control, I start with my shoulders raised above the ground, go up and lower myself down stopping short of touching the ground. The reason behind this is muscles develop faster when acting as a brake. Plus it stops you slamming your back/shoulders into the ground on the way down.

I didn't say to put your shoulders on the floor did I? I normally keep my shoulders about 2" off of the floor. I was told that if you have your shoulders off the floor and only lift a further 3-4" it is still classed as a sit-up. I never do them that way. Like to actually feel the muscles working. I need to build all my muscle back up after a year and a half of recovery where I have put weight on. Going back to martial arts and becoming more fit then I use to be.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :That is bad for your back, although 200+ isn't all that hard you do low numbers for a reason.

Try this, it is close to the actual Army fitness guide (but not exact) and it is pretty good for build stamina and strength.

When doing sit ups you dont always have to get all your back up (off the floor) Just getting your shoulders off the floor is classed as a sit up. I prefer doing full sit ups though.

Quote from tristancliffe :Thought this was better in the open, as I've never attempted a FWD to RWD or 4WD conversion, so need the 'experience of the masses' to correct me and add further suggestions or ideas.

To convert a FWD to a RWD:
1. You'll need a rear suspension that leaves enough room for the drivetrain.,
2. You'll need uprights that accept driveshafts, and a handbrake mechanism that fits it.
3. You'll need a differential or transaxle, and space to fit it.
4. You'll need a propshaft (assuming you keep it front engined), and the space to fit it, with suitable reinforcement for the event of propshaft explosions.
5. You'll need a gearbox that can fit a longitudinal propshaft, that can also mount to the engine.
6. You need to make all the above (and all the below if I think of more) work together to give decent wheel control, traction, drivetrain angles, load paths etc etc (almost ad infinitum)
7. Sort out the suspension and steering to take into the account you've completely the changed the vehicle. You'll need to start from scratch with respect to springs, dampers, roll bars, wheel rates, spring rates.
8. You'll probably need to brace the chassis so that the back end can cope with delivering power.
9. You'll need a new exhaust system entirely.
10. You'll probably have to relocate the fuel tank, which will require adjustments to the fuel system.
11. What are you going to do about tyre sizes, because the loads and requirements at each corner will be totally different.

Of course, you can add things to this list until you're using four figure numbers. And you can ignore some of them if you don't want to do a proper job and are happy risking your life and the lives of others every time you use them. 99% of home garage mechanics will ignore 99% of the steps and do a half-arsed job (and then cover it in metallic paint to draw attention away from the fact they don't know what they were doing).

To convert to 4WD:
1. Most of the above, but with different answers and a whole lot more complexity and weight.

Okay, thanks. That is a lot of hassle to go through. It would be easier to just buy a rwd car.

Quote from speedway :concerning the rwd conversion part: its actually impressive how the most reasonable posts are ignored, to encounter this, ill just quote a really good one and highlight the most important part

there are people who study this shit for 5 years, then after another 5 years of experience they might even get there hands on developping the chassis for a new car (which could easily take another...uhm...lets say...5 years!)

so thats 15years of education, experience and development, which is supposed to ensure the car will not brake apart or have horrible handling...15YEARS

and then there is this 15-year-old-kid who thinks you could simply cut parts of the chassis off and weld some new metal to it...hoping it would last longer than the first time you turn the key

I didn't say you can just cut things off then weld new parts on. I was actually asking how you would convert a car from FWD to RWD.

Quote from ajp71 :You can't simply add up power figures for various bolt on components, it just doesn't work like that. Forget about multiple arrangements of turbos and superchargers, forget even about any kind of forced induction, read a book or go to somewhere like howstuffworks.com and learn the basic principle of a four stroke petrol engine. Then after you've learnt how an engine works (which will take you more than an afternoon to learn) then move on to reading about conventional single forced induction systems, by the time you understand all that you'll soon be able to answer all these questions.

Okay.

Quote from JeffR :What is the goal here? I'm not sure if there would be any real benefit to having a supercharger plus a turbocharger, combined with the fact that you'd have to properly match their outputs to get them to work properly.

But, the Z20LET without the turbo wont be 200bhp though would it, so to keep it 200bhp I would need to keep the turbo on it, then put a supercharger on the engine to boost the hp from 200 upwards. Correct?
sam93
S2 licensed
One thing though, as the Z20LET already is turbo'd, would it be best to keep that turbo and still have a supercharger on the car. I say this because the turbo obviously gives the engine some of its power and to keep that I would have to keep the turbo or get a better one wouldn't I?

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Yup, read my post, the engine in that car has had about £2000 worth of work on it, is running 450bhp and is reliable.

What bhp was the engine when stock. What other mods apart from a supercharger has been carried out on the engine.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Is that like, an unwritten insurance rule, or that the no claims bit?

Either way, small mods like air intakes etc, most people don't bother telling their insurance company

Induction kits and such like are easy to remove though, I wouldn't think an insurance company would actually be fussed about something like a aftermarket air filter anyway.

Quote from pb32000 :No problem man, I sound harsh in my earlier posts but there's a LOT to read up on that we can't answer here without previous knowledge of the engine really. (Other than generic tuning answers of course).

I'm sure as you already know that's a great engine, sadly you won't be able to insure a modified one until you're 21 or so, but still a couple years of building beforehand would be good.

That site is I believe the best site for Vauxhall tuning.

Ok, cheers no problem. I never knew you had to be over 21 to insure a modified engine, good really that you have to so 17 year olds dont get their hands on a modified engine and kill themselves. I will read up on the engine. I was going to throw it into a corsa, would you say it is ok to do so? I was going to go for the C20LET but I thought it would be better to go for a newer engine, the Z20LET.
