Quote from pearcy_2k7 :1. Good luck with getting a job where you don't know the boss, everyone is loosing jobs not getting them (like me)

2. I take it the shop you're going to work in doesn't serve alcohol?

You can work in restraunts at the age of 16. I will try to find a job that I can start at say 5pm and finish at 9pm. My step grandad will give me a job, he said I could work there now, but his insurance wont let me work for him until I am 16.

Edit: Oh, just noticed where you said 'you dont know the boss'. I can be easy to get on with, so I should be able to get one. I will always have a job at my step grandads though.

I know it is. But it is still a motorbike. I want a Hayabusa when I am in my 20s though.

Helmet
Pair of steel toe cap Timberlands.

Fight Night Round 3 is an okay game. Look at some reviews of the game, I dont think there are many new released boxing games out there. Think it is mainly just the Fight Night series.

A boy goes up to his dad and asks whats the difference between theoretically and realistically. So the Dad says 'go ask your mum if she would sleep with the postman for £1million. The boy asks his mum, and she said that she would. He goes and tells his Dad that she would. The dad says okay, now go and ask your sister if she would sleep with the postman for £2million. So the boys goes and his sister and she says that should would. So the boys goes and tells his father that his sister also said yes. So the Dad says 'theres your answer, theoretically we are sat on £3million, but realistically we are living with 2 slags.

A Black Obese woman walks into a Doctors with a sore throat, and says Doc I have a Sore throat. So the Doctor says strip off and go and squat in the corner, so she goes and squats in the corner and the Doctor goes ok, go and Squat in the other corner. So she goes and squats in the other corner and says Doc will this help me soar throat, he replies no, I'm going to give you medication for that, I just wanted to see what the new chairs I have ordered are going to look like.

Another:
A woman walks into the doctors and says Doc I'm not feeling to good. The doctor says ok get on your hands and knees and crawl from one side of the room to the other. So she gets down and crawls from one side of the room to the other. So the Doc says I see what is wrong, you have a sackalike. She says "Whats a sackalike". So the Doctor says well your face is 'sackalike' your arse.

Another, a bit cruel I know. (*May cause offence to some as its about the 911, it is a bit cruel) *White text.
Breaking news.... After years of investigation on the cause of the 911 its been found that it wasn't the muslims it was the Irish!!! Apparently Pat and Mick were fitting doors on the 44th floor, Pat said that the door was too big so Mick told him to go get a plane and take the top off!!!
Hope that no one takes offence to that joke. For anyone who doesn't know what the plane is referring to, it's a tool for shaving wood off.

This one isn't a joke but a little ryhme.
Mary had a little snatch, a teeny tiny hole,
Johnny couldn't fit it in, his massive manly pole.
He greased her up squirmed and shoved,
and pinched her little tit,
but nothing seemed to work for him,
the dam thing would not fit!!
So Mary drank a lot of wine,
and smoked a little grass,
and just as she was passing out,
he shoved it up her ass!

I am not bothered if I look like a idiot or not I rather wait then get a scooter. If I had to get a scooter I would get a Yamaha Aerox, not a speedfight. I will most likely still get a RS50 though, as thats my personal preference.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Mmmm, yes I get where you're coming from - But I don't agree.

Well it's your choice. You may be changing through the gears, but... 8mph .. into second... 15mph.. into third.....22mph.... into fourth... 35mph... into fifth...50mph... and into sixth onto a top speed of 60mph ish will get boring, trust me

Why is it pointless spending £1500 on a bike? I'm a poor ass moron who spent £2.4k on his bike, because it's worth it. You pay for the age and the condition. Saying that, if you come off and do £400 worth of damage, it's a good way of making you not be a muppet and crash in the first place.

GPR will be cheaper to insure than the Aprilia for the simple matter of badge. Doesn't matter who they're owned by, a Vauxhall costs less to insure than a Chevrolet (I think GM own Chevvy) in the relevant countries, most likely because of the badge. It's like...

Mitsubishi Evo 9 and Nissan Skyline R34. The Skyline, in this case, being the RS. It's gunna be WAYYY MORE, because of badge and the iconic status.

But saying that, spending £750 on an RS only to find that it needs an engine rebuild because the spotty 16 year old twat who owned it before you thrashed the shit out of it.. that's going to be another £400 or so at least!

If you're not gunna get onto a bigger bike, buy a ****ing scooter. Scooters are for people with no interest in bikes. They're cheap to run, insure, and to service.

Geared bikes aren't really well suited in 50's, but even so, are more expensive to own and run.

You won't find an RS nowadays that doesn't have the odd scratch on the fairings. Most are thrashed, not allowed to warm up propperly, run on shitty £3.99/ltr oil that has some power-ranger on the tub. It's a minefield of potential disasters.

Beefyman, because of the emissions regulations, the 2T bikes are generally less powerful than the previous years model. Of course this could be down to the bike itself being restricted, desrestricted, etc etc.

What Tristan said is the troof!

Oh Sam, by the way. You know in a motorcycle crash the majority of the friction that takes place between you and the road when you're sliding down it is on your lower torso, as people tend to try to sit up, and because of the way our bodies are, our thighs and arse tend to stick out a bit.. some more so than others!

Okay. I do have an interest in bikes, just more of an interest in cars. I will wait until I am in my 20s before I get a bigger bike, something like a GSXR-600. There is something about scooters that makes me not like them. I prefer the RSs. I heard that the oil pump seizes on them easy aswell, just have to disconnect and mix the 2stroke myself if that happens. Who knows what I will get yet, got until mid January to decide as my birthday is the 1st february. I will most likely get a RS or GPR. What is more reliable out of a RS50 and a GPR50?

Something will show up at some point, even if it's not really what you're after. I'd settle for a shitbox crunchy if I couldn't find anything else. Less than a fiver to fill the tank, and it'll last you more than a week.

Cheers

Get a moped. Admit it's a moped. And get from A-B in the slowest, noisiest way possible, irritating other road users as you go. Then go out in packs and look like a proper chav riding round wiv ur matez attempting to look 'hard' whilst doing 33 in a 30 hunched over a silly screen with a tracksuit top on.

You got it right there, how some people are. You said 'hard' I always thought it was 'ard'. They dont pronounce the first letter lol. I can't see the point in going around in big groups, me and my mate will go on little rides every now and then, not in a big group though. I will be wearing a bike jacket when I get my bike, safety

Quote from beefyman666 :Get a cheap DT or TS. Might not be all bling like a faired 50, but it'll get you from A to B just as quickly, and insurance is likely to be cheaper.

I know you said you don't want a scramber/crosser but it's cheap and it won't cost you an arm and a leg if you have a little off.

My first road bike was a Kawasaki AR50, looked weird as it had massive skinny wheels, but it was plenty quick enough for me. I wrote that off and managed to pick a RS up for pretty cheap. Yes it was better bike, but I was happy as Larry on the AR.

I dont know if I would reach the floor on a DT lol. I am only about 5ft5/6". I can reach the floor on a RS easy but I would say a DT is deffently higher lol.

I will have to see if there are any cheap RS's pop up on Ebay/Bike trader after christmas. Beefyman, as you live in Plymouth and hear of any RS50's going cheap for under a grand, could you let me know please?

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Gilea DNA would be my advice to you, straight away, but you don't want one so... bleh.

RS50's (if they're anything like the RS125 in terms of riding) are a pain for a learner (And I speak with experience there). They're pretty hardcore and are not easy to ride.

Other than that, there's the Derbi GPR50, which is basically the same bike as the Aprilia RS50. (New models, anyway) It's less known so it should be cheaper to buy.

Your budget is really the factor here. You will not get a really good condition, low milage (important factor for a 2T, especially with smaller 50 and 125 cc models) RS50 or GPR50 for under a £1000. Try £1500 for a good quality and well serviced 2006/2007 model year GPR50/RS50.

Either way, all 50's are going to be slow - You won't be beating any cars away from the lights, and if you ride them flat out (at anything above 35 or 40mph for any length of time), expect to be eating quite a few pistons.

Sure, derestricted, the RS50 will hit 60mph ish, but it won't sit there happily. Neither will the police take kindly to you doing 45 in a 30

Truthfully, I'd say just get a Pug Speedfight twist and go.. Until you're 17 you can't get a 'propper' bike (i.e an RS125, YZR-125, CB125R, etc). Once you've built up a bit of experience, in a year, get onto an RS or a YZR 125.

Btw, my RS cost me £384.13 for a year on TF&T. (Be sure to use websites such as www.confused.com)

Also on that matter, especially with RS's, they are theif magnets. Save a few hundred quid here, but risk not having any cover at all if it's nicked. Which it probbably would be (at least an attempt, someone tried to nab mine in broad daylight..)

GPR's are still pretty pricey as they are basically the same as the RS. They both should be well known as they are both owned by Piaggio. I was going to go for a GPR and I still am thinking about getting one but they aren't suppose to run well once they have been derestricted.
I dont want a automatic because you aren't really doing anything, with a manual at least you have to change through the gears, I know on a RS50 that doesn't take long lol. Speedfights are nice but I really don't want a scooter. I am not looking for a 2006/2007 model because for a year it's pointless and when spending £1500 on a bike and then say you come off of it and do about £400 worth of damage, it will seem a lot. Where as if you get a RS that cost around £750 and you come off the total bill of how much the bike cost you and the repairs will be alot cheaper. If you see where I am coming from.

I dont really care if it has the odd scuff down the fairing as I will sort that out, as long as it runs mechanically well, I am not bothered. I am looking for a 2003/2004 and then I will sell it and put the money towards a car. Pointless spending a lot on a bike that you will only be using for a year, as I am wanting to get a car when I turn 17. Not going to get a 125cc, cant be assed lol.

To get that insurance quote for a motorbike you must have a high crime rate. For me to insure a car when I am 17, a 1.2 SXI Corsa is £1,700 Fire and Theft.

Anyone else able to make some suggestions on what geared 50cc motorbike to get?

Quote from dougie-lampkin :Before you get a bike, have you checked out insurance? I did a few weeks ago, and a generic 125cc geared sports bike (within regulation power output) was something like €6,000 a year. To be honest, even if you have the money, I don't think a 50cc bike or scooter is worth it. Better to save your money and get a nice car next year

If you are going to get a bike, I can't really recommend one in particular. They're all really going to be roughly the same, it's down to you whether you want to get a nice reliable one or a cheap banger

Insurance for a RS50 is:
3rd party, fire and theft - £400
3rd party - £179

Quote from shashdev :You do know that all of those pictures are fake, right? Hell, Priyanka won't even kiss her boyfriend in a movie. Do you think she will do that? Didn't think so.

And I am pretty sure that you are wrong about the 2%. Last I checked, they had to changed it to 2.5%. But they may have changed it back. Two and a half percent is too much exposure for some.

Whoops, just noticed this: No offense, obviously. I am just having a joke ;]

As I am 16 soon I am wanting to get a motorbike, the only problem is which one. I love the RS50's as they are nice and quick bikes for a 50cc, but the price of them is pretty stupid really.

Could some on you give me some pointers on what to get, I don't really want to spend over a grand as it's only for a year and what is the point in spending loads of money for 12 months. My preferences are, must be a geared bike, similar to the RS, under £1000, not a scrambles and not a Gilera DNA (they are ugly bikes, no offence jakg )

So could you give me some suggestions please. I know most people will say get a scooter but a geared bike is deffently what I want to go for.

Another worse one that I will admit too, that is worse then seeing the Krankies and Jim Bowen. Is that I have spoken to the Blonde lead singer out of G4 when they were down in Plymouth, now that was great, NOT! lol
